He’d been thinking about kissing her that much was for sure. But he didn’t want to say anything or do anything that Alena was uncomfortable with. He also didn’t exactly know what he was doing when it came to kissing someone. He was always thinking where he put his hands and if the other person would even like the way he kisses. “…𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏.” and with that, alena reached out to take his hand and lead him out onto the dance floor. luckily for campbell, it was pretty dark in the gym thanks to the mood lighting, so she was unware of how nervous he actually was, as given away by the blush he was sporting. she was just impressed that he’d actually asked her, and thought he should know it. so when they get out there she runs her free hand down his chest before letting go of his hand just to bring both arms up and loosely lace her fingers together behind his neck, stepping in so they’re pressed close together, “you said you sing, but can you dance?”

The fact that she says yes makes him smile. He figured that maybe she wouldn’t want to considering their around a bunch of people. But it wasn’t like they were going to be doing anything other than just dancing and talking right? As Cam feels her arms wrap around him he feels his cheeks grow red once again. Cam manages to place both hands on her was as he looks at her. Shrugging a little. “Not that great honestly. But considering it’s a slow dance I think I can manage.”

𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒌𝒔 𝒇𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒉 made alena decide, upon getting a good look at him and realizing how much harmless energy he was radiating, that campbell saunders is cute. her smile became more full on when he admitted to her what he was into outside of hockey, genuine pleasant surprise crossing her features, big eyes lighting up a bit, “oh yeah? you sing?” her curiosity seemed sincere, “are you like, super good? do you have the voice of an angel?” okay, she was definitely teasing him now, but only in a lighthearted way.

He shrugs his shoulders a bit whenever she questions if he sings and if he sings like an angel. Smiling at when ever she playfully teases him. “I don’t know I don’t normally sing on my own in front of like everyone. If that makes sense.” Cam said. Even though he did get nervous when it came to Hockey, that still was different from when it came to singing. On the ice he didn’t have to worry about people liking his voice or not. It all came down to the game itself.

“i’m  sure  some  of  them  have  been  called  worse,”  he  tries  to  justify  his  poor  choice  in  words,  a  mere  shrug  is  given  as  he  doesn’t  really  see  how  he  could  be  in  the  wrong  here  although  his  logic  doesn’t  quite  add  up.

“Doesn’t mean that they liked to get called that still. If you actually want to get with one of these ladies than I’m sure you should probably be nicer.” Cam said. He didn’t know much about girls that much the whole team knew about, but he did know that they seem to like it when you’re nice to them.

“Oh, goodness.” Clare whines as she noticed someone come over to her aid and she feels embarrassed immediately and entirely. “I’m in one piece,” She laughs lamely as she takes his hand and flashes him a soft smile, “But it’s definitely going to bruise.” She carefully gets up, brushing winter dirt and ice from her dress and coat. Clare looks over to her saviour and offers him a genuine and thankful smile, a bit taken aback by the handsome good looks he had, “T-thank you for helping me up. I’m uh.. I’m Clare by the way.” 

Cam smiles at her as she explains how she was in one piece and that it didn’t seem to hurt her to bad. “That’s a relief. I would have felt bad if you ended up hurting yourself too bad.” Cam said while he helps her back to her feet. After that fall he can tell that she doesn’t seem to be one that is used to the icy roads or sidewalks. Unless it had just caught her off guard. “You’re welcome. I’m Cam. Do you need some help to your car?”

Clare had just collected her coat from the coat check, her tummy full of dance treats and her feet sore from the small amount of dancing she had done, but the point was that her night was decent and she couldn’t wait to get home and put her feet up now and maybe turn on twilight for a rounded valentines weekend circle of enjoyment. Clare pushed out the door of Degrassi and stepped outside, taking a breather from the loud music and drunk teens. Clare took a moment to look up at the sky and take a few deep breathes in of fresh cold night air. when she goes to step again she slips on the icy front step, falling quite embarrassingly and painfully.

He was currently outside ready to kind of head back home since most of the people from the party had already left anyway. So there wasn’t much of a reason as to stay any longer. Cam was about to call for his ride before he looked over and saw a girl fall on the front step from the building. Ice was no big deal to him considering he was on an icy rink twenty-four seven. Cam rushed over to her and held out his hand. “Are you okay?” Cam questions as he looks down at her and smiles softly.

alli’s smile actually meets her eyes this time when she’s met with cam, having not seen him since the wednesday prior in room 315 with two water bottles and plastic forks, fruit medley, and chemistry assignments settled before them. she shakes her head at his greeting, hand still clasped around the plastic cup, “oh no,” and she gives a little laugh, more or less stemming from the drink, “believe it or not, tutors need breaks too, and tonight i don’t even want to hear about school work.” and that much is true, even if a part of her does want to ask if he at least got a B on the test he’d been studying hard for. but she bites it back, “so, are you here with someone ?”

He lets out a sigh of relief whenever she explains that she doesn’t want to quiz him on anything that involved school work. Here lately his brain had been fried from all the extra studying. “Good, because I really don’t need to think about it either even if we are here for a dance.” Cam said. He glances at her and shakes his head no. “Came solo what about you.” Cam questions.

𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒂 𝒉𝒂𝒅𝒏’𝒕 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒄𝒂𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒌 𝒖𝒑 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒆𝒓 given where they were, and the fact that she knew thanks to what he’d hinted at during their very first interaction, he had a pretty strong feeling that her connection to owen meant it wasn’t the safest idea in the world to have. especially considering she was there at the dance with him. it’s why she had to admire how bold he was being for even coming to talk to her, and what made her decide he should be rewarded for it, given the potential risk. she was all heavy lidded gaze and pouty lips at first, but her lips rather quickly turned up into a soft, coy smile when she heard the compliment. “thanks.” she took a few steps toward him, cocking her head slightly as she glanced him over entirely before meeting his gaze again, “you look cute all dressed up.” she decided, toying with a lock of her hair as she told him she thought so, “if you came over here to ask me to dance i might just say yes.”

He knew that Owen would probably kill him for this, but he couldn’t help it. He actually liked talking to Alena and it wasn’t like he was trying to get with her necessarily. In his eyes all he was doing was just asking for a dance and also talking to her. When he sees her smile he smiles back at her. His cheeks turning red again as she compliments him. Something that he hadn’t really expected her to do. “I was going to ask for at least one dance. I know it’s risky for me, but I’m asking anyway.”

“You’re not here to give me science tutoring are you? Cause I’m thinking my brain is ready for a break from the extra studying.” Cam said to Alli as he noticed her walking up to him. He was grateful for Alli’s extra tutoring sessions though. But they were there at a dance now so this was the kind of break he needed from school work.
