Build Consumer Trust Online | Elephant in the Boardroom
We’re a society of crammers. Everything moves faster than an Instagram user scrolling through his/her feed and making decisions has become 10 times more complicated. Break it down for your audience by creating and inserting a strong brand into their lives.  Strong and clear online branding has the power to simplify a user’s buying decisions and build consumer trust online.
Branding is a key factor in the consumer’s decision-making process. That’s why in every business, good branding has an immense capacity to reduce the risks in customer’s buying decisions. It has the power to influence their perceptions and experiences with a product.
But what are the risks that customers encounter during their buying decisions and how does your brand make it easier for your customers? To answer these questions, we have compiled the common perceived risks in customer’s buying decisions and how branding helps reduce it:
#1 Functional risk: The perception that the product may not live up to expectations
When a company prides itself on having high-quality products and has successfully conveyed them with an effective branding strategy, the risks of choosing products that don’t live up to expectations become avoidable.
Your business can build consumer trust online by encouraging users to leave reviews about your products. This allows the quality of products to be reflected in the form of peer reviews, which can reduce perceived risks, giving your audience confidence in your product.
#2 Financial risk: The perception of poor value for money
Every customer wants value for their money. With this, financial risk often hinders potential consumers in pursuing a product or service. “What if the product is just a fluke?” or “What if I end up wasting my money?” These are some questions customers ask themselves when they become hesitant in buying.
Build consumer trust online by ensuring your product benefits are clear and a part of your branding. Demonstrate how your products align with their products to tap into your audiences’ lifestyle and demonstrate to them how your brand and products can help them live their best lives.
#3 Social risk: Buying a product may result in embarrassment
Customers are becoming increasingly conscious of the social value attached to brands and their products. They wouldn’t risk buying a product that may cause them embarrassment and decrease their social currency.
Build consumer trust online by increasing your brand’s social currency through social media. Invest in quality content that demonstrates your brand values and what your brand stands for. By building a brand with value, you will be able to connect with your audience on an emotional level,  giving you top-of-mind awareness in their decision-making process by getting rid of any perceived risks during the decision making process.
Final Thoughts
The role of branding should not be limited to conveying messages, creating customer loyalty, and establishing emotional connections with the customers; it should also build consumer trust online by managing expectations about the products and services to reduce perceived risks in customer’s buying decisions. This will not only encourage the user to purchase your product once but encouraging repeat purchases through earned trust in your online brand.

Digital Terms Demystified | Elephant in the Boardroom
As the digital world becomes increasingly more complicated, more terminology is created to keep up with it. When seeking to build a website of your own, you would have likely encountered digital terms such as UI and IA and wondered what they meant and if you really need to apply the concept at all.
To decipher these mysterious terms, here are the 4 widely used digital terms that you need to be familiar with if you want to build successful website:
Digital Terms Demystified #1: Information Architecture (IA)
Information architecture refers to the way a website and its content is structured and organised. The goal of AI is to help users find information and complete tasks on your website. Similar from building architects, digital information architects create the blueprint for your website, classifying everything that it needs and where it should go.
They utilise flowcharts and diagrams to structure content. This makes the site accessible and easy to navigate. AI is so important as it helps users understand all the content on the site as a hold, and helps us identify where to go to find the information we’re seeking easily.
Digital Terms Demystified #2: User Interface (UI)
Your User Interface is the set of commands or menus through which a user communicates with a program. It’s the crucial space where humans and machines interact and communicate with each other. Being the point of contact between the end user and the machine, the user interface should be user-friendly and user-centered to ensure a seamless and highly usable experience.
Take note that UI and UX are not interchangeable. UI refers to what your users interact with while UX (User Experience) refers to how they feel while they’re doing it.
Digital Terms Demystified #3: User Experience (UX)
According to Kuniavsky (2010), user experience is the totality of end-user’s perceptions as they interact with a product or service. It is measured by many factors such as effectiveness, efficiency, emotional satisfaction, and the relationship quality with the entity that created the product or service.
Because UX covers every way that people interact with the company, UX often focuses on the psychology of the user. It aims to determine how the user wants to interact with your site’s interface to ensure an efficient and value-adding experience. Hence, businesses must ensure that their UX follows industry best practice and is also set up specifically set to their target audience.
Digital Terms Demystified #4: Customer Experience (CX)
Customer experience involves designing and dealing with customer’s interactions in order to achieve what every company wants – customer satisfaction. The aim of CX is to have control over the customer’s positive experiences in order to achieve loyalty and satisfaction. It includes consumer’s awareness, attraction, cultivation, discovery, buying, advocacy and use of a service.
Customer experience also refers to the shopper’s interaction within your brand. It can be measured through factors such as overall experience, customer’s chance of using your website again and the possibility of sharing your site with others.
CX and UX may have the same concept but they are not interchangeable. Primarily, UX is a specific part of CX and is concerned with your products' usability or website. On the flip side, CX encompasses all the experience a person has with your brand.
These terminologies are concepts that play a key part in your digital website strategy. When combined, they can come together to deliver a long-lasting impression on your customers, helping you creating stronger relationships with them.

Plugin Overload: WP Plugin Risks | Elephant in the Boardroom
WordPress plugins are essential to your website. They add tons of features and functionality to your WordPress website giving it depth and interest. With the right plugins, you can enhance the user experience of your site to generate leads and conversions.
There are over 50,000 Wordpress plugins available to take your website to the next level. With that many options, it’s all too tempting to install a metric ton of plugins.
If you’re adding plugin after plugin, STOP and take a breather.
There are risks involved in installing too many WordPress plugins on your site. 3 of the most common risks serial plugin installers face are:
Potential Risk #1:  Hackers
The number one risk your website may succumb to when adding too many plugins is security. A website becomes vulnerable to hackers when malicious scripts are added to the code of a plugin. This can often occur when installing outdated plugins.
Potential Risk #2: Site Crash and Reliability
Imagine this: a potential customer has heard about your products and is excited to learn more. They head over to your website only to be greeted with a 404 error message: ‘This site can’t be reached’.
Your site has crashed, you’ve lost a conversion opportunity and even worst, you could have gained a brand adversary.
As WordPress is an open-source creation tool, most plugins are free to install and use. However, not all plugins are made equal and downloading the wrong plugin could result in lost leads and conversions. Don’t get caught off guard. Always test your plugins in a testing environment before deploying it on your live site.
Potential Risk #3: Slow Speed
40% of users will abandon a website if it takes more than 3 seconds to load. It goes without saying that website performance and load speed are key factors in making your users engage.
However, installing too many WordPress plugins can result in slower site speeds. The more plugins you have, the more codes you add to your browser. This requires more process time which eventually affects the loading speed of your site.
With these potential risks lurking around WordPress plugins, how many plugins should you have for your website?
Not all WordPress plugins are the same. To assist you in achieving a healthy balance of plugins for your website, keep the following factors in mind:
Only install the most necessary plugins that add value to your website. Necessity always comes first and your website’s primary needs are of utmost importance. For example, a security plugin is a must on every website to prevent hackers from preying on your site and could save you an ample amount of money in the long run.
Update your plugins as soon as the updates are available to patch vulnerabilities and to prevent your plugins from getting corrupted.
Remove any inactive plugins from your website. This will prevent any hackers the chance of gaining access to your site. To do this, check for the inactive lists under the Plugin section of your dashboard and delete the files.
Choose only the legitimate plugins for your website. Determine a plugin’s legitimacy by checking its last update, description, number of downloads generated, ratings and reviews, support page, and the code.
While there is no pre-defined number of plugins set for websites, the advisable number of plugins is approximately 20 or less. When approaching the subject, following the concept of ‘less is more’ may also help you protect your website and minimise risks.
Conclusion
Plugins are an essential element in your website’s recipe for success. However, one should always be careful in installing too many plugins due to the potential risks it can cause. From the 50,000 available plugins, choose only the best plugins for your website.
New to WordPress and unsure of what and how many plugins to add on your website?

Vegan Shampoo: Keep your Hair Naturally Shiny and Cruelty-Free | Euca Online
Have you recently made the switch to live a vegan lifestyle? Are you struggling to commit to a lifestyle and diet the omits all animal derivatives and by-products? Here’s a product that could help you do your part for animal rights and reduce your environmental impact: vegan shampoo.
A vegan shampoo is an organic alternative to your regular supermarket shampoos.  It is the chemical-free, animal cruelty-free and guilt-free way to give your hair a natural shine every day.
You’ll be surprised at the number of animal by-products present in your hair care products. Common beauty ingredients found in shampoos such as biotin, keratin, silk powder, and collagen are all animal by-products.
Due to this, more and more people have made the switch to vegan shampoos due its natural, cruelty-free ingredients. If you’re still using popular commercial shampoos on your hair, we encourage you to have a look at the list of ingredients you are massaging into your scalp on a regular basis. Typically, these shampoos contain harmful ingredients that can do more damage than good to both you and the environment.
Still not sure about ditching your old shampoo and switching to vegan? Here are 5 awesome reasons why you should be using vegan shampoo:
#1: Environment-Friendly
One of the greatest reasons to use vegan shampoo is the product’s environment-friendliness. Vegan shampoos reduce the use of non-biodegradable ingredients during production.  Moreover, the vegan shampoo will not cause additional harm to our water sources as it breaks down easily once used and drained. Using a vegan shampoo can give you a sense of fulfillment knowing that you’re doing your part to protect the environment.
#2: All Natural Ingredients
Vegan shampoos, as mentioned above, are made completely from plant-based ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Argan, Coconut, Jojoba, and Kaolin clays. These natural ingredients give a natural scent as opposed to synthetic fragrances used in commercial shampoos.
Many damaging chemicals are present in commercial shampoos. There’s sulfate, which is known to cause skin, eye, mouth, and lung irritation; formaldehyde, a preservative ingredient which may cause leukemia; and paraben, a chemical that mimics estrogen in the body and can cause cancer cells to grow rapidly.
#3: Nourishing Quality
Vegan shampoos are rich in natural oils such as Coconut oil, Argan oil, and Jojoba oil. These oils are known for nourishing your hair from root to tip. These natural oils also act as anti-oxidant, stimulate hair growth, reverse hair damages, prevent hair loss, dandruff and dry scalp, and help maintain the hair’s natural moisture.
#4: Fortified with Essential Oils
Some of the best essentials oils are present in a vegan shampoo. For instance Lavender oil, a popular anti-inflammatory natural oil that helps in preventing scalp infections and Argan oil, a great choice for dry and damaged hair. Aside from the hair benefits, essential oils in shampoos also help in relieving stress and promoting relaxation. When using vegan shampoos, your daily bath becomes more invigorating and enjoyable both for your hair and your well-being.
Here at EUCA, we are devoted to developing safe and healthy hair care products for you and the environment. That’s why we have come up with our new EUCA Vegan Blend Shampoo with Coconut and Calendula Oil. 100% vegan, our Vegan Blend Shampoo is all-natural and free from animal by-products. Containing a high percentage of coconut and calendula oil, revitalise your hair and restore its natural shine. Try it now and experience the difference!

The Anti-Plastic Revolution | Euca Online
By 2025, for every three tons of fish, there will be a ton of plastic trash. That is if we don’t start jumping on board the anti-plastic revolution.
But first, let’s go back in history and have a brief look at how plastics were invented. Plastic is a product of discoveries and innovation. The first attempt to create plastic from oil began in the 1920s.  In 1973, the use of plastic was first introduced to the food industry by an  American engineer named Nathaniel Wyeth (Du Pont) for food packaging. The discovery was a result of trying to find an alternative to ginger bottles. That plastic bottle is still used for packaging drinks you see on supermarket shelves today.
Plastic came into it’s prime when Giulio Natta invented polypropylene in 1954. Polypropylene was later known as Moplen and is used in the production of almost everything from homeware, toys, car parts and many other commercial goods.
The modern-day plastic goods that offer us convenience has also led to the accumulation and generation of piles of plastic trash. Although it is not entirely negative when used properly, the growing demand for plastic has created a serious threat to many animal species and to the ecosystem as a whole.
Plastics are even referred to as modern environment killers and is a major contributor to the death of marine life. Everywhere you look, plastic is present– from landfills to oceans, to households, the improper use of plastics, especially single-use plastics, has caused much damage to our environment.
Therefore, there is no better time to be apart of the anti-plastic revolution.
Getting rid of plastics as a whole is not the solution. While we can get rid of unnecessary forms of plastics, the real challenge lies in how we source, design, manage and reuse current plastic products with the cooperation of everyone around us.
So how can the anti-plastic revolution be achieved?
When choosing products in plastic packaging, go for the natural or uncolored look. This means the manufacturers are using recycled content in their packaging which in turn helps in extending the life of our natural resources. It also makes the quality of the packaging more appropriate for further recycling.
The production of plastics is one of the contributors to global warming due to its use of fossil fuels. To reduce fossil fuel use, we should choose plastic products that are biobased and have recycled content. The more we encourage everyone to do this, the higher the demand is for recycled content. It will prompt manufacturers to produce and sell more of this kind of recycled packaging.
Since we cannot live without plastics 100% percent, we should try to lessen our use of plastics. Which plastics should we be avoiding? Try swapping a plastic straw for a foldable one. Keeping a tote bag for shopping handy can also assist you in reducing the amount of plastics bags needed for your weekly shop at woolies. It also saves you from having to purchase a $0.15 recycled plastic bag at the checkout.
Purchasing refillable products in bulk can also help you reduce your plastic consumption. You can then use an existing plastic product bottle for ease of use in and around your home. Or even better still, refill the product into glass bottles that you can reuse over and over again.
At EUCA, we take part in the anti-plastic revolution by encouraging our customers to buy in bulk and use natural refill bottles. We explore ways on how we can reduce the use of plastics from our product line. By buying in BULK, you will get the chance to buy a decanter bottle that will go with your bulk purchase so you can re-use the bottle all the time. Soon we will be introducing eco boxes to our powder product ranges so stay tuned.
The anti-plastic revolution is necessary to reduce our impact on the environment. With continuous awareness, we as a society can use plastics thoughtfully and learn to use them responsibly.

The Benefits of Bulk Buying | Euca Online
Are you looking to save some of your hard-earned cash on regular household items? Are you also actively searching for greener methods to reduce your and your family’s carbon footprint? One practice you could employ to reduce the price of your weekly shop and save the planet is to practice Bulk Buying household products.
Yes, buying in bulk can help you make the most out of your household budget with many additional benefits such as:
Benefit #1: Reducing packaging waste.
Do you know that Australians are responsible for generating over 40 million tonnes of waste per year?
This makes us one of the highest waste producers in the world! One way to reduce our water generation is to reduce the demand for single-use plastic packaging through buying in bulk and refilling jars and existing bottles we already own.
Benefit #2: It helps the environment.
When we buy products in bulk, fewer packaging materials are manufactured. This reduces our carbon footprint by reducing the number of natural resources and energy used in the manufacturing process. This also means we can reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emissions produced and released into our environment. Stand against unnecessary packaging and do your part to preserve our environment for future generations with bulk buying.
Benefit #3: It’s cheaper!
One of the best benefits of this practice is the savings you see as compared to purchasing smaller items at retail prices. You get the same quality of product at a more affordable rate- saving you money, effort and time.
Buying in bulk is one of the best ways to stay within your household budget. Whether you’re buying food or non-perishable household items, you will be getting the best deals while saving money and helping the environment.
Interested in buying your laundry products in bulk? Make the switch and try buying EUCA Laundry Products in bulk today. Purchase laundry products in 4L, 10L, or 20L bottles and order a 500 ml display dispenser to be refilled and used in your home and join our fight against plastic waste.

100% Soluble Laundry Products Make the Switch | Euca Online
Are your laundry products 100% soluble? If you’re not sure, the product label should have your answer.  If it doesn’t, allow us a few minutes to convince you of why laundry detergent solubility matters and why you should switch to 100% soluble laundry products.
Do you know that most laundry products have extremely high levels of fillers?
The most common of which is Sodium sulphate or what we simply call as salt. These fillers are insoluble particles that are detrimental to the Earth’s soil, waterways, and your laundry’s washing machine. So how do these fillers even reach the soil and waterways? What happens during the washing process?
Insoluble particles are slow to dissolve, and sometimes don’t fully dissolve at all. These particles remain in your clothes when you complete laundry and consequently can irritate your skin and even cause bronchial allergies. It’s also the main cause of washing machine failure. These particles stay inside your washing machine, causing blockages and corrosion of machine pipes, parts, and pumps.
With laundry being an inescapable part of our everyday lives, it’s important to be knowledgeable about the laundry products you’re using. More specifically, it’s important to know how soluble product keep your washing machine working well and protect your family and the environment.
So you’re wanting to switch to 100% soluble laundry products, but don’t know where to start? Never fear, Euca are here to help! At EUCA, we pride ourselves on our eco-friendly and 100% soluble products.
Here are some great reasons why you should choose Euca Online Laundry and Household Cleaning Products when making the switch:
Euca laundry products are 100% soluble
We use 100% pure Australian Eucalyptus oil that boosts the cleaning and deodorising power of all our laundry products
Our products do not use fillers, zeolites, SLS, enzymes or palm oil
Euca does not contain insoluble, harsh alkalis, synthetic fragrance, and fillers
Euca laundry powder has lower sodium content while our Euca Liquid has none
The percentage of phosphate used in Euca Laundry Powder is food grade, readily degradable and below the Australian Standards, which makes it environment-friendly
Euca has 35 times fewer salt than most common brands
Euca has one of the lowest components of trace elements associated with environmental degradation
Our laundry products are washing machine friendly including both top, front load and HE washing machines
Euca Laundry Powder is gentle and kind to sensitive skin and does not cause skin and health problems
EUCA has a natural eco-system pH of 6-8 which makes it environment-friendly – frogs, koalas, and other Aussie wildlife love it
Independently tested by Lanfax Laboratories
Your household deserves a safer and better clean. Knowing how insoluble laundry products can affect your family’s health and inefficiently clean your laundry, it’s time for the switch. The best laundry products are those which are 100% soluble, organic, environment, and family-friendly.
Euca protects not only your clothes and machine but your whole family. Switch to our 100% soluble laundry products to make your laundry 100% risk-free.

Washing Denim The Right Way | Euca Online
Denim is a pretty special piece of clothing that is highly functional and carries a fashion statement. They’re timeless and can go with almost any piece of clothing. Denim can be anything you want to be – rugged, sexy, casual and carefree. Almost everyone feels comfortable in it so it’s no wonder why denim clothing is a must-have in every wardrobe. But is there a technique for washing denim right way?
Even though denim is made out of a tougher material, they still require special attention and care.
Here’s our ultimate guide to washing your denim the right way to ensure that they stay fabulous and vibrant through the years. Remove stains promptly as soon as you spot them. Stains are harder to remove when it’s already loaded in the washer especially with cold water so it’s important to pre-treat it. We recommend our EUCA Natural Pre Wash Stain Remover. It is made without nasty chemicals and does not affect colours, patches, rubbers or plastics. Lightly spray on the stained area before popping the denim into the washer. For heavier stains, pour a small amount in a sink and soak for a short period before wash.
Denim may be sturdier than your other garments but it still needs thorough washing. If possible, use colour-safe bleach together with detergent to completely the dirt. Use the right amount of detergent as well. Using too little detergent creates a risk of not having enough cleaning agent to get your denim cleaned. Overusing creates too much suds which lowers the washing performance so it’s a problem too. Depending on how light or heavy the dirt is, put the right amount for a better washing result.
Use our fast-acting EUCA Concentrated Laundry Liquid together with EUCA Laundry Soaker Brightener to achieve a better clean and brighter colour with your denim. These are safe to use not only on clothes but on your washer as well. When drying denim, tumble dry them on delicate to low heat settings. Adding in some dryer balls keeps them tumbling and helps them to dry evenly. Don’t over-dry them in the machine to prevent shrinkage. It’s better to take them out while they’re still damp and just hang them to air dry. This way, your denim can last longer and stay in shape better.Just like any piece of garment, denim is exposed to normal wear and tear. Taking care of them the right way is important to preserve its quality for longer use. Keep this ultimate guide in mind whenever you’re dealing with your denim so you can treat them with proper care.
