I don’t normally post these kind of things but, this is the zoo I volunteered at when I was younger, it has been around for all my life and has played a major part in my existence as a whole.

Buddy and Carrie, the operators of the zoo are amazing; Carrie runs a separate no-kill animal shelter for older and abandoned animals and Buddy- who lost most of his hearing after an animal attack- gave up almost everything he owns for the animals.

The majority of the animals are rescues. A lot of the Tigers and Lions were from television/shows or owners that just didn’t treat them right. DeYoung, unlike most zoo’s, allows the animals to walk on the ground, not concrete. They provide a home that is the best available for animals that would not survive in the wild otherwise. 

These animals need all the help they can get. The zoo needs all the help it can get. Even if it is a small amount please donate! I’m sorry for the long post but Buddy and Carrie are both… a little behind and busy when it comes to technology.
