Sorry, but it bothers me when people portray Kevin as being "evil" and "will kill everyone." It's not like he went all willy nilly attacking Jack's parents or the Player at the end, just cause. If anything, I always saw it as a distressed reaction. By this, I mean he had "fight or flight" instincts.

For example, Jack's parents. He didn't kill them just because! He reacted out of fear and panicked. Kevin didn't recognize those folks and given that Doey states, "The gentle voices lie," could be something he's telling himself, after the scientists and counselors essentially lied to him about being "sick" and did those nasty experiments on him and the other two. With that mindset, he likely would've given them the same label, being liars. He probably thought that Jack's parents were trying to manipulate him and do more harm to him.

As for the Player, its a similar scenario, but taken to the max and blown out of proportions with misunderstandings. Doey never found out Ollie was the Prototype and he didn't realize that the Player was also being lied to when "fixing" the generator with Proto's guidance. Doey never got to see the truth of things and its why Doey is heard repeating that line again about gentle voices lying, before he snaps. We, the Player, gave Doey that "false" hope that we were helping. Unfortunately, the Player is too late to realize they were being duped, like everyone else was in Safe Haven..

Sorry for the rant, just had to get that off my chest. I appreciate the ask though!
