A Ponzu story:

This morning, Ponzu wasn’t herself. She stopped playing with her puppies, which is a HUGE red flag, as it’s literally her favorite thing to do. She kept bowing and backing up and then lying down, and when she curled up on the daybed, her ears quivered, which is a big tell for pain with her.

I took her temperature and it was normal. I felt her belly and it was soft. I gave her some gabapentin and fretted over her for a good half hour. There’s an unkillable bush in the yard that the dogs love to eat, and it gives them diarrhea. I was hoping it was that and not something severe.

Then…she farted. And after the heinous fart she immediately began to run and play with her puppies. She was completely back to normal.

She literally. Just had a giant fart inside of her.

A very big day for these babies and they all took it in stride! This is their first time off their property and away from their main human and they’ve settled in like this is nothing.

Name update! Fara wasn’t sticking for red girl, so she’s now going by Birkke (pronounced like Burke). Gold girl is still Tove (tov-uh), gold boy is Ingvar, and red boy is going by Arvid for now although it may change 😂
