I haven’t spoken much if at all recently on here. That’s not to say that the feelings have gone away, just not much new or interesting to talk about.
I’ve found that one of the best ways to indulge in my canine shifts at work is to buy deli meats on my break. I usually pair them with some baguettes from the store bakery and some brie to make little sandwiches and draw less attention if I happen to be sharing my break with someone else. But it’s tasty and works a treat when I want to Bite.

I’ve had an interesting, primal feeling most of the day. I dare say this is the strongest this feeling has ever been.
This feral, primal feeling of wanting not only to hunt; but to feel the prey’s fur against my tongue and muscles fight against my teeth. I’ve been snacking on soft, warm things I can sink my teeth into to help ease the intensity of the feeling. It’s sort of helped, but in fleeting moments.
It’s both a strange and comforting feeling, it’s nice to let myself feel this viciousness but at the same time it’s just... strange.

This post’s content will likely change over time.
Eat well! This doesn’t just mean eating meat. Although a wolf’s primary source of nutrition is from their prey, they still eat a bit of plant matter to keep their digestive system healthy. Make sure to eat plenty of fruits and veggies! You might like this tag on the KinFood page.
Sing! Wolves howl to express emotion, so why shouldn’t you? Sing your heart out to any song that catches your fancy. So what if you don’t sound good?
Exercise! If area and environment allow, go ahead and chase birds and rabbits. You could even go hunting, if that’s your thing- just make sure you have proper permits and documentation for yourself, and remember to respect your prey.
Don’t forget to be social! Although it’s tempting to sit at the computer all day, wolves are extroverted animals, and need to be around others in order to feel like they are at their prime. Spend time with friends or family, or, if you’d rather not for some reason or another, you may consider investing in a plushie/stuffed animal or two.
Go ahead and chew on things! I know that when I get angry/stressed, I want to chew on stuff. If you get similar urges, you might contemplate keeping a stash of your preferred jerky. Just make sure not to chew on things that aren’t meant to be chewed on.
Build yourself a den! You can fill it with plushies, pillows, blankets… Anything that makes you feel comfortable and at ease. You can build dens underneath desks, in closets, or, if you prefer, just make a pillow fort.
If you can’t take yourself to the forest, bring the forest to you! Consider keeping some potted plants, or take up the hobby of pressing leaves and flowers. Collect interesting branches and rocks that you find.
Play some wolf related games!

Start a journal/sketchbook/scrapbook! You could document things that make you think of home, or you can create your own fictional pack, and track their daily adventures in your chosen form of media. This is especially nice for those who like to daydream.

Make a self-care box! Things that you might want to include in a self-care box include snacks (especially sweets and non-perishable food items), a notebook/journal/sketchpad/scrapbook, movies, candles/incense, etc. Anything that might make you feel better when you’re down should be included in your self-care box.
Look great!

Don’t forget to block all the nasty blogs and tags!
Hey everyone! If you see anything that doesn’t seem quite right, one of the links are broken, you have a suggestion on something to include on this post, have a suggestion for another kin self-care post, etc. Please feel free to tell me!
