Yk, I hate Tommy as much as the next girl (gender neutral) but sometimes I think about how the bucktommy folk are just like us (buddie shippers) because they’re chasing and clinging and holding onto something that also is probably never gonna happen.

And then I remember Tommy was racist and they’re insane. so.

a lot of eddie fans might get pissed at me for this but i have to say it

i really did like eddie at first, at least a bit. but as time went on, i noticed weird patterns of behavior in him that i dont really like. for example, he sucks at communicating. every time he and buck fight or something is wrong, he shoves chris at him instead of fixing it like an adult. i know buck loves chris, thats why eddie does this. its also why buck cant say no to watching chris, especially when eddie drops chris on him out of the blue and shows up with chris right there. obviously he cant say no when chris is right there. he puts him in such an awkward position. also i know eddie loves chris, but he feels really neglectful towards him sometimes.

i mean at one point he literally let chris run away to live with his grandparents for months. sure chris was mad at him, but eddie is the adult and the parent and needs to work with chris to get through it properly. but he doesnt. he somewhat parents him over facetime, doesnt know much about what his son is doing at all, and takes forever to go get him back.

and again, with buck he is constantly shoving chris at him when buck is not chris’s dad or related at all. it would be fine if buck was enthusiastically involved and wanted to and there was proper communication each time eddie has him watch chris, but there isnt. he keeps putting buck in awkward positions, even to the point of putting buck in the will to become the guardian of chris. without asking!!!! and he didnt ask because he knew buck would say no! how is that not fucked up??? it is! people just refuse to see it that way

and then theres the latest seasons. things got even worse. eddie constantly accuses buck of being selfish, and yet eddie is the selfish one. eddie makes a discussion about bucks grief all about him, even putting his hands on him at one point. its insane! how can people see this as anything but emotional abuse and manipulation? buck already struggles with self worth, eddie isnt fucking helping. i dont care what you guys say, that type of behavior isnt okay, its abusive. its an abusive friendship. and while i dont ship buddie, i think if they did get together romantically it would not be even remotely healthy as a relationship. eddie needs to get his shit together, and someone needs to talk some fucking sense into him.

honestly? even if i didnt ship bucktommy/bummy/tevan, and it wasnt canon, i really just dont think buddie will ever be canon. They’ve already made it clear eddie is straight. Any coding theyve added looks more to me like being aro and comphet then being gay (not liking women romantically doesn’t automatically mean liking men. he hasnt shown an affinity for them either).

if they were to make eddie gay or bi or whatever i think itd be difficult for the writers. you have eddies actor who isnt a big fan of the gays/doesnt want to play a gay man. theres also the fact that hes called himself straight and they would have to walk that back. and then theres the fact that the original script had eddie be the bi one but they changed it to be buck being bi. that means they made a very deliberate choice not to make eddie bi.

and all of that is completely ignoring tommy, who canonically likes buck, and who buck really likes back. they broke up, but it didnt seem like too major of an issue between them or like something that cant be talked out. given 911’s history of how they show relationship plots, i wouldnt put it past them to have bucktommy make up and get back together
