HIATUS

I'm taking a break from this IF for a while, and I know this will be a disappointment to all of you, but due to recent circumstances, I just can't bring myself to write about murder and death right now.

As you know, my cat Grayson passed two weeks ago after a long battle with a spinal chord injury that he was unable to recover from. I got his ashes back over the weekend and seeing him in the urn the pet mortuary picked for him just flipped a switch in me. I would work on Cantarella only to find myself staring at the page with tears running down my face. I just couldn't do it.

I'll still be active on my other IF blog @regencyofhell-if and that will be where I focus my time until my heart heals enough that writing about death doesn't make me sick to my stomach. It might be a few weeks or a few months, I honestly don't know. My therapist advised me to step away for the sake of my mental health, and so I will.

I'm very sorry to all of you. I know it's far from the update you all wanted, but i have to put my mental wellbeing first. When the times comes for me to return, I will let you all know.

Thank you for your understanding and compassion at this difficult time, and thank you for sticking around.

I know I missed most postings this month and intend to rectify that as soon as I can. Daedalion (LI) - The adopted son of Lord Mastema is nothing like his father, and some suggest he has a better claim to the Regency than you. Once upon an age, you were close, but something has changed in his eyes since you became Regent...

Lucifer - Your absent father and the reigning King of Hell until recently. As his eldest child, though born to a mortal mother, he leaves the throne to you, but at what cost?

Prince Ceyx - Your younger half brother covets your throne and your new powers, but would never openly declare war against you. His mother Queen Lilith, on the other hand, would do anything to give her son what she believes he deserves.

Lord Mastema - Your father's twin is known by many names. They are the embodiment of chaos who originally tempted Eve with the Apple. Humans call them the Devil and some say they are Lucifer's logical successor.

Dowager Queen Aurora - The mother of Lucifer and Mastema and the origin of the family name of Morningstar. Some say she is now nothing more than an old woman who lost her wings centuries ago, but she still holds great powers you will need in the days to come.

Friendly reminder that fan-made content (fanart, fanfic, fanvids, etc) are:

extremely time consuming. Remember someone actually took time out of their life to create that, time they could’ve used to, idk, sleep, for example

entertainment you’re consuming for free. I can’t stress this enough: you’re enjoying someone else’s craft for free. You paid exactly zero money to look at/read/watch it.

S H A R E D  with you, not made for you. This is the most important point: someone created that, put it online and you found it. No one forced you to consume that fanwork, you C H O S E  to do it. 

Whenever you feel like leaving a mean comment, anonymous hate or make a ~clever post about how ‘lol look at all of these overused tropes every fic writer crams into their fics’ remember you’re being a dick to someone who shared their work with you. You’re not being funny, you’re not being edgy, you’re not being brave for calling something out - you’re being a dick.

During my recovery, I had a lot of time to daydream and by doing so, ended up creating something brand new for you guys to look forward to. A brand new game with a whole new world and characters is coming, with a blog dedicated to it dropping on Friday.

How is your hand doing?

Much better, actually. I was able to take most of the bandages off over the weekend except for my finger; I have to keep it covered and put ointment on it three times a day since that's where the infection is located. I'm able to go back to work tomorrow but I'm not scheduled until Saturday so I'm currently enjoying the time off as best I can. This mostly involves missing Grayson, binge-watching Netflix, and taking a lot of naps.

Swelling has gone down and my hand is doing much better, so I'm going to start catching up on stuff Monday. This includes Patreon's Thirsty Thursday posts with Jayme and Elena.

Your posts about the historical stuff are really cool! Do you have any recommendations for documentaries, too?

Actually yes!

I have one specific film that I recommend to everyone called Ghosts of the Abyss, from when a team of scientists and filmmakers sent cameras into the wreck of Titanic back in 2001.

There are also a few YouTube channels to look at that are really good including History Tea Time with Lindsay Holiday, UsefulCharts, and History Matters.
