Radio and Contests

Some great news for us over here in the last week - our song "Keeping Score" was the 8th most downloaded indie track across Canadian radio stations.  The song was also selected as one of 3 finalists in the Rock category for the John Lennon Songwriting Contest from entries around the world.  If you haven't checked out the track, the lyric video is above. Summer summer summertime.

Things are quiet here in Canvasland (like candyland, but you get musical treats) as we await the return of a few things - the artwork for our upcoming EP, and the finished masters from our mastering engineer.  In the meantime we are prepping for our show at the Rivoli on July 26th.  We have a great lineup of bands on the bill and we have a crew filming our set to develop as a video.  Hope to see everyone there.  Show your face, you'll be quasi-famous!

Lots of stuff and more stuff

It's been a while since we've posted an update, so there's lots to share.  We released a lyric video to our debut single "Keeping Score", you can check that out here.  We've had lots glowing press reviews about that tune which has us pumped.  We're headlining Rancho next week, and some summer festivals we're set to announce shortly.  We've also been working on a secret cover song project in conjunction with a bunch of other indie bands that will be coming out soon.  A video shoot at the Rivoli in July, our EP release in August, and a Canadian tour to follow.  Stay tuned!

Awesome first gig

We had a blast showcasing our music live for the very first time at 3030 Dundas this past Saturday.  It was a packed house full of family, friends and lots of new fans eager to check out what the fuss is all about.  Favourites thus far?  "Gold", "Everything Isn't Right In Your Heart", and "Keeping Score", the last of which will be our first single coming out soon... Thanks to Nathan Hunter for having us there and for providing the great lineup - it's not everyday you get book-ended by amazing hip-hop acts!  Shoutouts to Animal Nation and Kyprios who had the crowd moving. The next month sees Chris mixing the first single, mastering and shooting our first video.  Our next gig is coming up shortly as well, stay tuned.  Again, thanks to everyone who supported us at the first gig, and we look forward to the journey that awaits.

Debut LIVE Performance

We will be performing for the first time ever as CANVAS, live at 3030 Dundas Street West on Saturday, March 29th in Toronto  We'll be showcasing the new songs that will be make up the debut album soon to follow.  If you want a sneak preview, this is your first chance!  The band should be hitting the stage around 10pm.  The facebook event is HERE.
