i just thought i should mention that when i saw the show on March 7th, 2025, emma’s coke throw was less accurate and a lot of liquid ended up on the bench so when brody and sky came over in that scene brody looked at the bench wiped it off with his hands but realized there was too much liquid in his hands to wipe it off on his shirt, so he shrugged and sifted the coke through his hair (wig) like it was hair grease. help, has he done this before?

Y'all imagine if Darry got a concussion from work or something and he just completely refused to take care of himself.

It took a long time for his brother's and probably the rest of the gang to convince him to go to the doctors, and even longer to convince him to take care of himself.

Like Darry comes home with a headache and says he had a slight injury at work but says he's fine and they don't think much of it but then they start notice over the next few days that he's started acting different. Like he starts forgetting things, sometimes doesn't know what's going on, gets moodier, is more sensitive to things like light and sound and just got some other symptoms of concussion, but none of the others really know what's going on and just assuming that he's tired or something.

Darry knows something's wrong but doesn't want to go to the doctors to get it checked out because money, doesn't want to become a burden and doesn't want to stop working so he thinks if he just powers through it he'll be fine. He's wrong obviously.

Soda and Pony finally decide to force him to get it checked out when he comes home from work and they find out he almost fell off a fucking ladder and could have gotten seriously injured. Even if they hadn't known that, they were still leaning towards the decision when Darry mentioned he doesn't remember the day the head injury happened or the day after.

The whole time he was at home recovery he was trying to help out around the house even though everyone just told him to take it easy but he was doing the complete opposite. He just felt so frustrated at feeling like he was doing enough or feeling useless. Even when he was allowed to go back to work he still had to take things easy but tried to push himself too hard to make up for the time he lost.

I guarantee this man refuses to take care of himself if he feels it makes him a burden

i really love the “i’m 14 and i’ve been 14 for a month!” line bc it’s an amazing example of ponyboy’s desperation to grow up. it’s a sign of him wanting to be older like his idols. and having that line while he’s breaking down?? it symbolizes him not being ready to grow up, but still wanting to anyway. idk i think about it alot
