Belly Conklin Opinions?

Hi! So as the title suggests this is just a chat for opinions on Belly Conklin's character in the Amazon Prime Video show, The Summer I Turned Pretty. Now this can be a debate, a conversation or separate thoughts entirely, but honestly, I'm posting this because I need some help here. Now I've spent the last year reading TSITP fanfics and brewing in in thoughts and fan theories on the show, but all I can come up with is: BELLY SUCKS.

Now this may be controversial and that's okay because that's why I'm here. I've only seen the fist episode of season 2 and honestly I don't think I'll finish it because in all this waiting for season 2, I've become increasingly hateful of Belly and from what I've seen of this season there's a bunch of Bonrad and Jelly cringeyness that I'd rather skip. Let me be clear I love this show, I love the beautiful cast and characters, I love the storylines for the moms, Susannah and Laurel, and how they were given their own arcs that didn't just revolve around their kids, I loved Steven and Shayla and Jermiah and Conrad. I still have mixed feelings on Taylor but again, I haven't seen much of season 2, and in season 1, she hit a girl in the face with a volleyball for no reason...

The show is easy love but because Stomach is the protagonist and main character, her toxicity polluted the entire show. My main problem with her is her sheer audacity to do the shit she does. (Sorry IDK if cursing on here is illegal now but it really is the only word to accurately describe it.)

In season 1, she has the audacity to get mad at Conrad for being with Nicole in the first episode despite him and her not even ever having being a couple in the first place, she had the audacity to be dragging Cam Cameron along while she was still thirstily pining over Conrad--which was absolutely maddening, every five seconds "thirsty ass stare" like please add some other aspect to her character--she had the audacity to jump the Jeremiah train just because Conrad shut her down just to drag Jeremiah into being her escort even though he's never wanted to do such a thing and only did it for her cause that's the kind of guy he is, then she had the audacity to take her piney ass down to that beach with Conrad with the intention of being with him despite being with Jere AND everyone having just found out about Susannah's cancer (aside from Connie and the Moms), like girl why is that the one thing on your mind right now? Lets not forget her being mad at Taylor for making out with Steven while he was with someone even though SHE WAS TRYING TO DO THE SAME THING. Brother or not, which would honestly put me off entirely, but since I don't like Belly, I don't really share that sympathy for her.

I think that Nicole said it best, BELLY IS A FUCKGIRL. And not in any kinky way either, she's just....blech. Now I know some people may be like well if you hate her so much then just don't watch the show but for one, there are people spreading way more hate for way worse reasons with way more toxic words than mine, for two, I'm just trying to understand the intrigue of Belly fans, and for three, as I said before, I do love this show and I don't want to lose such a great fandom. Also I really needed to vent... Opinions?

So guys I just wanna share a little story with you today.

Its about a guy with a girlfriend and a girl with a crush on said guy.

It goes a little something like this:

Girl has a hallway crush.

Girl finds out that her friend has the same hallway crush.

Girls give him the nick/code name: Alfredo.

Girls swoon over him together for weeks.

Girl's best friend lends her computer.

Girl sees (snoops) a conversation between her best friend and a friend of her best friend.

Girl sees a screenshot of a conversation between best friend's friend and Alfredo.

Girl copies Alfredo's number down.

Girl starts texting Alfredo under the guise of a wrong number.

Alfredo starts texting Girl back.

Girl plays shocked when she "realizes" they go to the same school.

Girl keeps getting to know Alfredo while denying him her true identity.

Girl starts to really like Alfredo.

Ok now between the asshole boyfriend turning out to be my Disney Channel sweetheart, Peyton Meyer from Girl Meets World; the mean girl goddess turning out to be the sweet little girl from The Game Plan, Madison Pettis; and Rachel Leigh Cook who starred in the OG (which no, I haven't watched yet) and is the wife of someone I love very much, Daniel Gillies aka Elijah f*ing Mikaelson. I thought I'd be so jealous of her but she is so pretty- I kinda thought she was that lady with the cooking show. All of that paired with Tanner Buchanan who was also in Girl meets world, I was both thrilled to see them again and heartbroken to see what their characters theoretically evolved into.
