Politicovision 2017 Part 3 (The Drama Finally Ends)
The EBU’s threat to sanction the Ukraine over their political behavior in banning Julia Samoilova from Eurovision in Kiev, and the demand that she be allowed to go was hardly the “Tough stance” by the “Czarina of the EBU” as it was first advertised. As now we can see that it literally amounted to nothing. The Ukraine told them to F***k off and they did with their tails between their legs. Good going Ingrid Deltenre, you sure showed them! . Hm. Personally I thought the European Broadcasting Union had more clout than.....nothing. ¬_¬ Well Europe, have fun watching “Politicovision 2017: Celebrating Russophobia” this year. Also, EBU, have fun counting the amount of money you lost by not having the show broadcasting in Russia. To Russian fans, if you’re disappointed all I can say is that having her go or not go wouldn't have made much of a difference. Everyone was against Julia from the start, as shameful as that is. She’s a strong woman who I am sure will have better places to sing at. I’m not going to comment on the so called “fans” rejoicing that she wont be going. Those people show that they are faux fans in every way. To everyone who supported Julia from the start and hoped she would go thanks. True fans of Eurovision support the right for all contestants to go, and you showed yourself to be true fans. As always thank you for reading.

St. Petersburg Stay Strong
It’s been two days after the attack in St. Petersburg Russia and after some time to digest what has happened there is honestly nothing new which can be added at this point. Mainly because after the initial shock, horror and sadness of the attacks everyone acted totally as expected. In Russia the people came together in the hour of need giving support and help to the people of St. Petersburg and each other. There were no protests of anger against the government, no one seriously listened or accepted the wild theories immediately propagated by western media that the Russian government was the one who did the attack to crack down on the people, and honestly if anyone expected that this would go anywhere they are crazy. Meanwhile in the west the media almost instantly blamed Russia for the attack, regardless of reasons the suggestion was obvious. Russia caused the attack on itself either through their actions in the world or the government was involved in it. And despite the speeches about “Shock and horror” there was no real reaction. Even the things which were traditionally done for other nations didn't happen. There were no “Je suis la Russie ” hashtag which filled the twitter sphere and other social media sites, no Russian flag filters for profiles or even a simple black ribbon of mourning on website homepages. No monuments were lighted up in the Russian tri-color, no night of dimmed lights anywhere, and no reaction the first night after the attack at all. In Europe that is, Israel did show solidarity by lighting the Parliament building in the Russian colors, and while such acts won’t change any facts on the ground they still give a slight comfort that someone out there cared enough to show it publicly. In fact it was the outrage and anger of western European citizens themselves who immediately started to criticize and shame their governments that some reaction was later shown, the next night. (Which honestly makes it feel half-hearted by those governments at that point) but the fact remains that the normal people of Europe were outrages and did feel solidarity for Russia and her people for which I personally am thankful for. In the end what can I say? Nothing other than it is better to stand together instead of being apart. It is safer when everyone in the neighborhood is looking out for one another instead of arguing over politics. So I want to make it clear that this post is not attacking the people of any place. Social media and other groups were filled with PrayforRussia hashtags on Monday. (Though now for some reason those posts seemed to have been cleaned out. I wonder why.) and regular people really seemed to feel that pain along with Russia. Yet, unfortunately not everyone did and that’s sad. Still, Russia and her people are strong and despite everything Russia will continue to go forward without fear or hesitation. Россия, мы с тобой. Питер мы с тобой. Держитесь Крепка.

Russian contestant is banned from Eurovision 2017
Okay, geniuses, let me tell you this. Ya’ll folks who never been in Russia/Crimea/Ukraine think you know best,so let me clear it up: my mother was born in Crimea,Sivastopol in 1976 (if you don’t know,it was all called The Soviet Union back then). in 1991 it became a part of Ukraine. it was basically given as a gift to Ukraine. the people who lived back then in Crimea (my mom was one of them) has suffured from lack of electricity and water that the Ukrainian goverment has been shutting down once in a while to save up some resources and money. They had NOTHING back then. In 1999 my mom,dad and grandma moved to Israel because my mom was terrefied of giving birth to me in Ukranian Crimea and wanted to save my grandma who later died of cancer.
2014 Crimea came back to Russia after a series of polls has stated that most of the Crimean citizens would like to become a part of Russia again. My family was thrilled. The ones that decided to stay there and the ones that imigrated to other countries. My mom who missed her home country so much over the years for the first time ever offered me to travel with her to Crimea.
STOP labeling my family’s misfortune. Stop using is as a part of your propoganda when you have nothing to do with it.When you don’t even understand it.
All facts asaid, remember when Eurovision was a fun,non political singing contest that was meant to pull all the countries closer? What the fuck is going on then? Why and when did it became all about politics? I don’t even watch the news because I can’t stand all this political nonsense, now I can’t watch Eurovision for the same reason.
Lads, you fucked it up big time. This contest is bringing more anger and hatred than anything.

Ok, guys…I hate talking politics when it comes to my own country and that situation that we are in in regard to the Ukraine…
But as I hear, our girl is not allowed to participate in the contents…Really don’t know why…. But I want to give the girl at least some of the exposure that a performance at the ESC would have given her. So here’s her entry song
youtube
Julia Samoylova - Flame Is Burning (Russia)
It’s a sweet song. I actually like it(which is rarely the case with Russia’s entries)
Saying that, this is the first and the last time I am going to talk or tag ESC 2017

Simple Writer Tip:
Get yourself an all-time fan. A friend, a family member, a significant other, it does not matter. They just need to be a person willing to read your work and tell you to keep going because they love what you’re doing. Trust me, though it may not help with the editing phase at all, it does help a ton in the drafting phase when you can barely stand your own work.
Note, always tell these people when you’re just looking for positivity. It doesn’t help to receive criticism on these days, especially when you’re working on early drafts.
Stay motivated, keep writing, good luck.

Eurovision 2017 Part 2
So! It has finally happened. Russia has been banned from the Eurovision song contest this year by Ukraine, as expected. (What did anyone expect from a nation like Ukraine anyway?) Regardless many posts here seem to be doing their very best to defend the move. With many posts saying things like “It’s the law of Ukraine! They have to enforce their own laws!”
or “Russia knew very well what they were doing when they picked their contestant. They probably planned for this to happen.”
or “Why is everyone blaming Ukraine? Russia has been the aggressor in this whole thing since forever. They were the ones who took Crimea”
As with the posts which were written when Julia Samoilova was chosen Russia is getting the blame. Although then it was because they chose a person in the wheelchair who can’t get booed. (For some reason that bothered many fans of Eurovision who are used to booing Russia’s entries of the song contest). But wait a minute, what about Armenia? Their chosen singer also went to Crimea, are they part of the plot against Ukraine angelic government too? @_@ And Bulgaria chose a singer who actually was born in Russia! Oh man. These Russians are freaking everywhere! In all honesty though, most of these posts seem to be an attempt to turn followers on to the side of normalizing the ban, or at least comending it since a majority of people feel that Ukraine is wrong and needs to be punished. Just reading the comments in the Youtube page of Eurovisions response is enough. (Maybe they are upset that no one is celebrating the ban?) And before anyone points out once against that Ukraine just HAD to ban Russia or it would look weak, the President of Ukraine made sure to remove the ban on BBC reporters and other European journalists who were also banned when they went to Crimea without Ukraine’s permission. So it really has nothing to do with looking strong. And if they don’t ban Armenia’s contestant well that’s proof enough that this is just an Anti-Russian move. Eurovision 2017- Celebrate Russophobia! :D
P.S. And before anyone accuses me of wanting to see Armenia banned. I do not want to see that. I do not want to see anyone banned from Eurovision like this. I am simply pointing out some facts about the situation.

Eurovision 2017
Can everyone stop criticizing Russia on their entry once again please? Not that this is new of course since this seems like attacking Russia is a popular thing to do every time this contest comes around. (How heroic right?) Seriously though, enough is enough. Every single time all the comments are either negative or sarcastically smug. Those that are positive are few and far between Also, stop saying Julia Samoilova is being used. She is not a thing. She is a person and a singer who is getting the chance to be on a world stage. (By the way, saying how much you respect her while also attacking the country she represent and lives in, isn't that respectful. Neither to her or the people of Russia to be honest.) I am pretty sure that if any other European nation had sent a singer who has a disability they would be cheered for being heroic and embracing diversity but of course if it’s Russia then it’s just evil. Honestly, it’s depressing. It kills the spirit of the song contests (If it even was ever alive to begin with) and makes it nothing more than a muddy disgusting political mess. It’s also depressing to Russian fans but f**k Russians right? Hooray for Celebrating Diversity! This happens every time, no matter who is sent to the song contest. No matter what the song is.And I am sure that if someone else was sent there would be other, anti-Russian comments about them and Russia as well. It happen last year with Lazarev, It happen the year before with Gagarina. and the year before that. Enough is freaking enough. (Now I understand when people like other songs or have other favorites but the criticism goes further than that. It often feels like hate for Russia itself.) Of course this is just an opinion, take no offense and all the regular disclaimers. Thank You.

Coffee
Captain’s Log, 5/18/2016
I recently noted that coffee began to replace tea as my hot drink of choice. That is not to say that I do not drink tea anymore but I end up gravitating towards coffee more often. I guess it is the caffeine content which is what I really want and since it is stronger in coffee I drink it more often.Either way, I love both drinks but I am starting to think that my Earl Grey, Green, English Breakfast, and Oolong teas feel neglected.
