The widows curse

The widows curse in the life series has to be one of my favourite concepts, both grian and Pearl always end up alone by the end either having killed their own team mates or losing them to something/someone.

And I love when the curse is related to spiders, especially Black Widow spiders, yes because of the name. But considering sometimes a female spider eats their mate, it's more poetic in a way that they lose their partners or team mates in the series.

I always hc it either appears as hybrid traits, or a tattoo on the last place your teammates touched you.

it started as a cute suselle comic with noelle's antlers accidentally getting snapped off, but then i veered off course because,

susie ATE the antlers, thought a trade was in order, and it all spiraled from there- into how susie bleeds, and how doctors don't know how to treat her the parts of her non-monster health, and how susie projects her fear and insecurity of being othered onto others

and then it looped back about how gay and awkward they are at all this, so it all evens out i think.
