Rey Dau Plush

Plush FINALLY completed after starting it in January, then putting it off until recently, probably because this was quite an intimidating project with all the details I can muster on this. It all worked out in the end and is now my most complex piece.

Zoids - Liger Zero Phoenix (Takara-Tomy AZ line)

I'm so happy that they gave the Zero Phoenix a spot in the AZ line, this kit is beautiful! The wings especially, I love that the "feathers" can flair out. The sculpt and engineering to make a blox design like this work is really neat too!

That said, the quality control (or rather lack of) for this kit is incredibly disappointing, especially for its price point. My kit had a piece that was malformed on both the sprues that had it, the piece that makes up the structure of Fire Phoenix's tail. Half of the wall of where a peg would insert to connect the 2 pieces was missing, meaning that the tail could not hold itself together. Luckily its not an issue in its Liger Zero Phoenix form, but it is a major issue if building the Fire Phoenix as a standalone kit.

My AZ Blade Liger and Liger Zero had no issues, so I'm not sure what happened here. But a defect this bad should never have made it past quality control, its made me rethink getting the blue Phoenix standalone kit. Its just too expensive to be taking a chance on a kit that may or may not have similar defects =/
