I sent two patients home with hospice today. A third patient died on the floor while waiting for family to arrive to say goodbye.
It’s a leukemia service. I get it. This is what happens when leukemia does what it does best, but I’m pretty sure this service is crushing the souls of my interns despite my best attempts to prevent that from happening. Sorry, guys. I’m a magnet for dumpster fires and hopeless cases.

What a load of horse shit. We just got an email that stated we are expected to show up to work if you’re on the wards. No excuses. Even if that means you have to drive in unsafe conditions and sleep at the hospital afterward.
It’s cool. We’re not actual human being or anything. Apparently, I paid $250k and my soul in order to get a degree.
Fuck the administrators.
Better believe their asses are staying home during this mess.
They just lifted duty hour restrictions for the duration of the storm.
Thank God I don’t start in MICU until Tuesday.
