Overview

In the entrace of the musuem, visitors can see how Valenzuelanos are during the pre-colonial period. Each colonizer of the Philippines has its own section. Visitors can also see a life-sized statue of Vellila, De Leon and Valenzuela which are heroes of Philippine Revolution and Philippine-American War. In the middle part of the museum, there is a section called "Made in Valenzuela" where visitors can see the products made in the city such as mattresses (Uratex), processed foods (CDO) and water tanks (bestank).  The final part of the museum features the different services offered in Valenzuela by the city government. It also showcase the different awards that the city had recieved. Visitors can also see the past congressmen that served the city and the current officials from the mayor to councilors of the two district of Valenzuela City.

Things we need to know about the museum

STRUCTURE- the structural design of the museum is a bit small. Its ceiling is low, making the museum more illuminated than the usual place of a gallery. Lastly, the museum is not that complicated when it comes to direction, it is just a continuous display of what the city have gone through.

ACCESSIBILITY- the location of the museum is within the city hall’s vicinity. You can go to that place through public transportation or a private vehicle. With that, it can be easily accessed by students or other visitors that have the desire to experience the museum of Valenzuela City. VISUALS- the local government of Valenzuela made an effort in building replicas of documents and artifacts that made an impact to the history of the city. The displays are somehow interactive but the others are not. Nevertheless, the museum provides great displays that every visitor can appreciate. SECURITY- the museum is located inside the Valenzuela City Hall that’s why it’s more secured. Staffs inside the museum are roaming around. Also before a visitor exited the museum, he must sign on a log book first. LOCATION- the Valenzuela City Museum is located at the ground floor of the city hall. If you don’t know where the city hall is, landmarks like South Supermarket and Valenzuela Town center can be a guide or just simply ask for directions. Valenzuelanos will glady help you. People can visit the museum from 8am-5pm. DESIGN- it has a vintage look and atmosphere at the first part of the museum. The latter part of the museum is consist of modern design. The lighting is also complementing the vibe of the museum. PRICE- one of the good things about the Valenzuela City Museum is that it is for free. It is open to the public and very accomdating when it comes to visitors. SPACE-For us, the museum is a bit small. It can be too crowded when a large group of visitors go in the museum like what happened to us. The space is only 300 square meter that is why it is very limited.  Everyone can finish a 10 minute tour. VARIETY- the museum offers a diversed culture of Valenzuela City. It presents different eras that Valenzuela has gone through. With these kinds of variation of infoemation that this museum has to offer, visitors will have an overview or background of Valenzuela’s history and culture.

AMBIANCE- the museum has a vintage vibe. Aside from that, the lighting helps in making it more dramatic, allowing you to feel the feeling of what it looks like in Valenzuela before.

Everyone must visit a museum once in a while not just because it makes one smarter but also it can be a good bonding moment with family and friends. The Valenzuela City Museum narrates different stories that can tell about the life of Valenzuelanos. It features different artifacts, maps, text and photo panels, statues, and interactive terminals showing the city’s rich heritage, history and culture. Having a tour inside the museum can give its visitors photographic journey in Valenzuela City for the last 4 decades. Eventhough the museum is a bit small, guaranteed that after a person leaves the museum, he will be more knowledgable about the city and appreciate Valenzuela City even more. As what we have said, the musuem does not have enough capacity or space to accomodate a big crowd. Because of that, we recommend that the local government must have time to renovate the museum and allotted budget for more displays and artifacts that can be displayed inside the museum. However, it is still a great experience to visit our own local museum to know more about its background and histoty. Overall, we give Valenzuela City Museum 3.5 out of 5 stars.
