"What's holding you back?" Caradoc smiled back at the other, giving him a strong pat on the shoulder. He was good with words, knew how to motivate people, probably a reason why we was Captain of the Ravenclaws Quidditch team. "Sounds good, what do you have in mind?"
“It doesn’t matter what they think of you or whether you are good at certain things. You have a voice and a mind of your own that matters. No spell can change the world, we’re all just pieces of a puzzle. A single person can’t solve a problem. But one hundred people, each person holding 1 percent? None of us is strong on their own, some may be better at Herbology, some are good at charms, but it doesn’t matter. “

" thank Merlin, I'd probably go mad if I hear another person talk about Halloween." He groaned loudly as he plopped down on a chair, head rolled back. "Really? Sounds horrible, I'm glad that my house is a lot more quiet. Well, most of the time at least. "
“Great, I almost lost hope to get this done in time.” He let out a sigh in relief as he pushed the door open to walk inside. “Everyone seems a little out of their mind with Halloween coming up.”

“Charms.” He admitted. Not his faovrite (or best subject), but he did well enough in it. “And yourself? What essay brings you to my abode?”
“I envy you, sixth year charms was great.” He chuckled quietly, lifting up the papers sprawled out in front of him. “Defense against the dark arts. Had to do some research about Patronus’ and how they work, personal stuff and all. So I prefer a much more quiet place in order to get that done.”

“I don’t. To most people, me, my family, we’re just blood traitors.” He said, frowning. “We don’t matter. And maybe we don’t. I’ve come to bleieve it. The only things I’m good at are Herbology, Potions, and Divination. What am I going to do to change the world when I can’t even cast a drying spell without it backfiring?”

No not at all - I come here to get work done as well I think it’s the quietest place in the library.
It’s nice to get away from everyone once in a while, hm? Quite hard sometimes, so ..sorry for actually being the one to interrupt you.

Mary looked up with a bright smile and nodded. “Of course you can, come sit. I was just about to start one as well. It’d be nice to have company.”
“Lovely, thank you.” Caradoc quickly slipped inside the room and took a seat opposite Mary. “What do you have to do?”

Hoestly, Severus just wanted out of school. He had aspiritions of becoming a teacher, but never shared that, d=for fear of being ridiculed for it. Or perhaps a social worker? He could work with kids (though he detested kids) who were in similar situations. Perhaps that was his calling. He ignored the thoughts and reread his essay’s first sentence, writing the next few lines without looking up.
“So...what are you working on?” Caradoc asked after a moment of silence, fixing the essay for defense against Dark Arts, easily his favorite subject of all.

“Sure mate, don’t mind at all.”

“Ghetto?” He echoes, clearly never having heard the word before. “It doesn’t matter. It’s just me.”
“Oh...I mean, whatever.” he chuckled quietly as he ran a hand over the back of his neck. “No, each of us matters equally. By saying you’re less worth or that it’s just you, you’re going to fuel their fire.” Caradoc said quietly. It was the year of the Order being founded, to go against the dark that lingered beneath and although he always seemed rather passive, everything they stood for was what the order was against. “Don’t let them do this to you, come on.”

“I’m just hiding in general.” Severus admitted, quietly. His voice was slow, long pauses between the words, as if he though as he spoke. “He hesitates, before offering a hand, surprised the other didn’t know him, though, he didn’t know the other one, either. “Severus Snape.”
“Well, this is a nice spot to hang out.” He shrugged chuckling, flicking through the pages of his book as he looked up. Caradoc had other priorities than listening to the recent gossip or who-did-what. His focus was on Quidditch and studies, as he wanted to be an Auror after school. Taking the Slytherins hand, he nodded. “Caradoc Dearborn, sorry for bothering you here in your..hide out of sorts, I guess.”

“I didn’t see who it was. They ran away.” He said, frowning. “It doesn’t matter. I didn’t get hurt, so it doesn’t matter.”

“It does matter, we’re not in some...ghetto.” Caradoc replied with a scrunch of his face. “You should make sure you see their faces and at least report it.”

Severus was amazed someone even bothered sitting by him, “Sure.” He said, returning to his own essay.
“Great, I honestly can’t stand loud noises when I’m trying to concentrate.” Caradoc replied with a smile as he put his book down. He didn’t really interact with a lot of 6th year students, usually avoided them as they simply seemed immature. At least he ran into a quiet one. “Seems like you’re running away from those as well, huh?”

“It’s going to change my attitude. I’m solar powered, Caradoc.”
“Solar powered, huh? Well then, enjoy freezing your bum off. The nurse will welcome you in a week:”

“I’m sorry, kinda looking for a quiet place to write an essay. My dormmates are simply..insufferable, loud, obnoxious...you get the point. You mind?”

“I like it out here better. It’ll be winter soon and then I’ll never get any time in the sun.”
“It’s freezing cold, that bit of sun left is not really going to change that. You’re crazy.”

“I have to get to class. Do you know a drying spell?” He asked. There wasn’t time to run all the way back to the Hufflepuff dorms before Divination. “Please?”
Quickly pulling out his wand, Caradoc dried the others robes with a flick of his wrist. Fortunately he was quick to remember exaresco, a spell to make water evaporate. “There you go, but are you okay? If someone pushed you into the lake you shouldn’t just...let them.”
