āTHE NEXT PERSON WHO CALLS ME WINE DUDE, WILL END UP IN A BOTTLE OF MERLOT!ā - the one, the only, mr d
Ok I know I'm new and stuff but who was gonna tell me that the wine dude tells us all that we're his kid until we know we aren't?!? That was 100% a possibility, I mean it still is... And you're telling me he does this to everyone š¤¦
He does it to everyone, itās better not to warn new campers than to have dish duty for a month š - šValentina Diazš

i think itās a pretty common headcanon that whenever there is a spider, annabeth freaks the fuck out. which is super weird to most people, because sheās likeā¦ the bravest person ever. even if you donāt know sheās a demigod, sheās just a badass. but if thereās a spider, sheās screaming bloody murder and jumping up on tables and counters. and of course, percy always comes and kills it for her. no matter what heās doing or where he is.
but i think what would be even weirder for people (who donāt know her extremely well) is how seriously percy takes it. i feel like girls being scared of spiders and having their male partners come kill it is such a basic āweak white girlā stereotype. and it usually is funny, even to the one whoās scared. so when annabeth does this and starts screaming for percy, people would start laughing. naturally, right? haha itās so funny that annabeth chase is so scared of bugs. and after percy runs in and takes care of it, they would expect him to be laughing too and poke fun at her.
except itās the exact opposite. thereās nothing funny about his expression. his jaw is hard-set and his sea green eyes are full of nothing but concern. he does a thorough examination of the surrounding area, makes absolutely sure there arenāt others and gets rid of any webs, and then goes straight to her. and his first question, every single time, is āyou okay?ā nothing but concern and support. and if the legendary fearless annabeth chase needs her boyfriend/husband to carry her across the room, because she doesnāt want to step on the rug now, you know dam well heās gonna carry her across the room without a second thought. and youād better not laugh at her, or else percyās gonna give you the most scolding glare youāve ever received, and itās gonna make your arm/neck hairs stick straight up and your blood turn to ice.
and it would take people off guard every single time. because heās not laughing at her. he takes her fear completely seriously. and itās because he knows about her past. heās seen her face her worst horrors. he knows what happened with archane.
he knows exactly why sheās so scared of spiders, and to him, thereās nothing funny about it.

headcanon that annabeth keeps diaries a lot. so one day in the future percy finds a diary from her childhood. he painstakingly reads and sobs at accounts of her on the streets and all the innocent praises she had for luke. he reads her ancient greek diary entries of her days at camp half blood, and finally comes across the pages of her meeting him, and giggles at all the simping she does for him, where she's like "DEAR DIARY I GOT THIS FRIEND AND HES KINDA ACTUALLY COOL AND HES LIKE ME BUT HES SO KINDDDD WOWIEEEE"
same for annabeth when she finds all the letters percy sent to sally over the years. right from sobbing at all his letters from school describing the bullying and ableism and how he wishes he had a friend, to giggling at letters from his first year of camp, where he's like "MOM I GOT A FRIEND AND SHES SO COOL AND SHES LIKE ME BUT SHES SO SMART WOWWIEEEE"
thanks for the ask @helpallthenamesaretakenblog!
awww, this is soo cute!! i love this!! they would frame the pages and put it up on their bedroom wall one day
and also annabeth is 10000% the type of person to keep a diary. for some reason iāve never considered it, but itās spot on

i like to think annabeth can pick up percy
as theyāve gotten older it became harder since heās taller then her and weighs more so like if he threw himself at her she might stumble and not catch him per-say but if heās sitting or laying down she can lift with her legs and move him from one place to another
when they were younger she would do it much easier and it was the funniest shit ever
since sheād been training much longer then he was she learned to stand like a statue so he really could throw himself at her and she could do a pretty good job at catching him and walking around with him like a sack of potatoes
they probably found this out when he was fighting with clarisse at like 14 and theyād all had enough so selina pulled clarisse out and annabeth just kinda yanked him away and threw him over her shoulder
after this it became quite common annabeth did it mostly just bc she had a big fat crush on him and it was like the best way to get close to him and it was funny for everyone involved but it also became common practice for literally anyone to do this
charlie definitely did percy perched on his shoulders a lot but he couldnāt sway too much otherwise theyād both topple over and clarisse definitely did just bc she could but percy HATED that
i also think it took a while for percy to do it back like it was his GOAL for a long 4 years to manhandle them back
heād randomly walk over to charlie grab him around the thighs and LIFT heād get charlie a good foot off the ground and call that a win clarisse never let him actually get that far but by tlo percy could carry annabeth easily and itās like one of his favorite activities now
especially if annabeths studying and not giving him attention (and itās not smth thatās like deeply important) heāll pretend heās going in for a side hug but slip his arms behind her back and under her thighs before lifting her up and throwing her over his shoulder
or when she falls asleep in the grass at camp heāll pick her up bridal style to a more comfortable area
they both have a habit of fake sleeping in uncomfortable spots just so the other will pick them up and move them

For some reason though, I feel like Hera would be petty because of her and Percabethās history. Like in order for her to āblessā their marriage or even allow them to marry, they need to get on her good graces. A quest or something like that.
On the other hand, I guarantee that Percy and Annabethās wedding would be like, the event of the century. I think I saw a post saying how literally every mortal and immortal being would attend that wedding. Not to mention, if Hera refused to let Percabeth marry, sheād have to deal with the other gods.
maybe. i have an hc that percy and annabeth blackmail hera into swearing on the styx to never mess with or interfere with their marriage in any way. annabeth can be real manipulative when she wants to be lol
also yeah if hera was giving them a hard time, aphrodite would be like bitch stop messing with my favorite demigod romance #goddessdramainolympus

dionysus having a soft spot for Nico and Will canonically is really neat/wholesome me thinks :,)
also Dionysus & Chiron treating them both so a huge (and delicious) breakfast after they got back is the icing on the cake lol

I keep thinking every time I see a "they knew Percy was going to die at 16" post that actually, they didn't, and it's worse than that. Even if Percy accepts the prophecy as his before he knows exactly what it says, he knows it happens after he turns sixteen--and that's the key.
No one knew Percy was going to die at sixteen because no one knew if he'd make it to sixteen. What they knew was that if he made it to 16, he would die. But honestly (the way they were reading the prophecy) making it to sixteen was the best case scenario for Percy (other than the whole prophecy coming true part). The child of the prophecy is after all supposed to be making it to sixteen "against all odds," so it's unlikely he's actually going to make it at all.
It's not Annabeth befriended a boy she knew would die at sixteen. It's Annabeth befriended a boy who would probably die before he was sixteen. It's not Poseidon came to Percy's birthday because he'd die when he turned sixteen. It's Poseidon came to Percy's birthday because one way or another he wasn't going to make it another year, and he was fucking lucky to have made it so far.
I just feel like everyone says "Percy was going to die at 16 and everyone knew" but actually as soon as they saw him at twelve they knew he wasn't going to make it past 16 but probably that they'd lose him before that. Like I feel like Chiron was probably worried about Percy being a summer-only camper because of the way his power would attract monsters throughout the year, but also feel almost like it was a good idea because it gave him so many more opportunities to die before the prophecy could come true. Maybe that would be kinder, more humane. Like, unlike Harry Potter where the child of the prophecy is raised "like a pig for slaughter," Percy is raised with the expectation that he'll die before he's old enough for the prophecy to apply. They're hoping he's not the pig and they won't have to slaughter him. Idk

Jason was a boring person, not a boring character, hereās why (speaking as a Jason fan).
He had all the setup to be an interesting person and by all means could have been! Raised by wolves, child of Jupiter, fricken toddler stapler-induced scar on his face. Favorite of Hera/Juno (who hates pretty much all demigods), the first Roman demigod to make contact with the Greek demigods (successfully) in decades. He was a very interesting character and could have been an interesting person from the start. So why wasnāt he?
Because for much of his life, he was never given the chance to be his own person. He joined the legion very young, where the expectations placed upon him as a legion member and child of Jupiter crushed him into a very limited box, or onto a narrow pedestal; you decide the metaphor. Point is, there were expectations on him to be a certain way coming from all over the place. He tried to fit into (most) of those expectations to the point that he never stopped to wonder who he was or what he wanted to do.
I think the only thing we were told he ever did for himself was joining the āworstā cohort when everyone expected him to join the best one. But otherwise, he was everything everyone else wanted him to be, and not much more.
A lot of people neg him for that, but that was an important part of his story. It makes perfect sense why he was like that given what he went through, and it was great to see him start to grow out of that and come into his own in TOA (before his tragic death cut his story short). I wish we could have seen him become more of his own person sooner, but in HOO he was always on a quest and, well, I think he was conditioned to always put the quest first.
Yes, Jason was boring. But thatās ok! That was an important part of his character arc!
