Tonight the Charlotte Checkers head to Houston to take on the Aeros in their first game since the holiday break.  They are looking to create another win streak after beating the Peoria Rivermen 2-1 before the break.

Last night the Charlotte Checkers took on the Peoria Rivermen looking for their 5th consecutive win and their 8th straight win against Peoria.  Unfortunately both streaks came to an end despite a valiant third period effort from the Checkers as they fell 5-4 to the Rivermen.

Here on Cardiac Cane we are going to introduce you to a new column.  Every week we are going to write an article titled ‘Contour of the Checkers.’ This concept is quite simple in the fact that each week I’m going to take one player on the roster of the Charlotte Checkers and provide you an in-depth look at them.  In a sense this is a report card or the history of the player.  While we are in a lockout, it is the greatest way to get to know your Charlotte Checkers and future of your Carolina Hurricanes.  To start off, we will get you acquainted with the coaching staff of the Checkers.

Last night the Charlotte Checkers faced off against the San Antonio Rampage in their third and final game of the weekend.  The Checkers were able to put a new win-streak in place in their fourth-straight victory, a 2-1 edge over the Rampage.
