@anon OP retracted their post and apologized so I won't post your ask out of consideration for them.
But agree to all your points bc beyond this single post, there is a general trend in the so called 'sincaraz' fandom where carlos somehow always comes off as the bad guy. like sorry but how are you agreeing with that post when you have 'carlitos' in your url?

Hey. Sorry for reaching out, but I wanted to thank you for what you wrote under my post. I don't know how I could miss how problematic it sounded, but I 100% needed a reality check. I take full accountability for how grossly I behaved. And now I feel beyond ashamed for even writing those insinuations about a player I really admire and respect (not that I showed that today, though). So thank you for pointing that out, I have definitely learnt better
The explanation in my reblog is much closer to what I truly think and was trying to convey. Which doesn't look like it, I am aware. But at that point, I had gotten some of my intelligence back and could write things down more sensibly
I truly, sincerely apologise to you and all other Carlos fans for sounding completely parasocial. On his tag too, which was beyond disgusting behavior on my side. I have already removed all tags, and I'll remove the post altogether to avoid upsetting other people and fuelling controversy. It's not what I do, and I will try not to make such a mistake again
Thank you again for being firm and clear about it. I really needed that. I can't even start to express how embarrassed and sorry I am about the whole thing
Hey, it's completely okay! I've been in sports fandom for years so I understand how emotionally intense it gets and how their pain can feel like our pain. At the end of the day it's just a tumblr post so don't worry, no harm was done. Thanks for taking my view into consideration. Now that you have been so graceful I also feel like I was unnecessarily rude right off the bat, so I apologize. Please don't let this bring your mood down and have a good day 😁

thank you for your answer to that weird post. i tried to put into words how unfair it is and how discrediting to carlos is but i couldn't, yet you did it. main tagging it and all.
thanks, I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt like this. to see that post in the carlos main tag was the last straw for me, like if you're gonna be delusionally parasocial at least have some shame 😂
#i could have gone on abt that post like suggesting that it would not have been as painful to carlos to lose the final#it would not have been painful to YOU to see carlos lose lol#to carlos it would have been heartwrenching. as it should be#obviously as fans we see the sport though our guy's perspective and that's fine#but don't be mad when people don't adhere to that worldview#they are people and not secondary characters to a movie

I'm usually not in other fandom's business but this is literally in the carlos tag. This is one of the most parasocial things I've read and makes a huge deal of a small comment where Carlos was just trying to empathize. Carlos, like every other player, has had heartbreaking losses, Olympics 2024 being the worst. Obviously Jannik's loss was painful but you are making it seem that it's offensive for other players to even suggest they have also have difficult times.
I have seen this post quoting an interview in which Carlos apparently said he “can imagine” how Jannik must have felt like after RG and it’s possibly one of the craziest things I’ve heard him say. Because I’m very sure he cannot imagine. He doesn’t even have a clue
He doesn’t know how it feels to spend the first part of the season holding your breath while you wait for the bomb of your very own doping scandal to drop. To be absolutely slandered by the media and the public, and have your reputation forever ruined by something you had no responsibility for and no intent of doing, and which did not enhance your performance whatsoever. To be the target of snarky comments and unfounded accusations by your own colleagues, who for the most part spoke without getting properly informed on the matters of the case
He cannot imagine how it feels like to think you’ve finally put it all behind, only for that decision to be appealed – not for real reasons, just because WADA decided to ride the wave of popularity at your expense – with the prospect of not being able to play the sport you love for years. To settle on a three-month suspension (the necessity of which, as we all know, would have been ruled out had the appeal taken place). In order to have closure, yeah, but also to get away from the tennis world where you no longer feel welcome for a bit, from the colleagues that now look at you with hostility in the changing room and treat you differently
He cannot imagine how tough it is, having to question all the relationships you’ve built on tour, because only in the moment you fall you see who you can truly rely on. How ugly it is to find out that people are not how you thought they were, especially when you describe yourself as “someone who invests a lot in making things work”
He has no idea of how painful it is to lose like that one of the most important matches of your career. The match of your comeback, of your revenge. After being one point away from the title. After having three championship points and the possibility to serve it out
And I’ll go as far as to say that, had Carlos lost that final, it would have hurt, sure, but it would have been different. Because it would have been but a pebble in the grand scheme of the rivalry he has been carefully crafting in the media and pushing forward for years. While for Jannik “I would like to be the rival of Carlos” Sinner it was the confirmation that he’s not yet there, and maybe he will never be. It was yet another weight on Carlos’ plate, tilting the scale irremediably beyond balance. And as much as that can encourage him to do better, I’m afraid that the psychological toll of that final, in the context of the past year and half, will only make it more skewed going forward
So, no, I don’t think Carlos can imagine. And I’m happy he can’t. I hope he’s never able to understand, really, because I don’t wish for him to ever experience what Jannik has been through this past year and half

brilliant racing from alpecin. so impressive from philipsen to hang on to the front group and then have that amazing sprint. uae had a strong group showing but ended up working for the others, as it often is in races like this.
maybe a dual leadership like alpecin had today could save pogi from having to burn his matches early, next time.
#but then do they have a sprinter anywhere as strong and reliable as philipsen? i dont think so#i guess an strategy like alpecin only works if you gave mvdp and philipsen in your team lol#the strongest classics rider and the strongest sprinter in the same team lol#a lot is talked about visma domination (rightly so) but how impressive is alpecin team building#they barely existed a few years ago#anyway CICLISMO is back baby#milan sanremo#jasper philipsen#cycling

that was a pretty good 2nd set 😁 thought carlos looked centered and had good timing of the ball. hanfmann was playing decent too, not giving too much for free.
carlos is giving calm and peaceful energy. wasn't a perfect set but it doesn't need to be. let's get the next one too, charlie!
