Evie gave a small shrug and was only able to offer, “Darcy said something about it being a lights issue but I didn’t really notice it and wanted a second set of eyes.”
“Huh. I didn’t even notice it. I’ll pay more attention this time through,” she said as she turned back to face the stage. She watched as the actresses went from the cue Evie called, watching this time through she noticed the difference once the lines were in the right order. She smiled at her wife,”Nice job, Ev.”

Evie turned toward Carmen, leaning over and lowering her voice a little bit, “There’s this set of lines they keep mixing up and I just didn’t catch it until now so I want to make sure they like get it - I guess?”
Carmen smiled at her wife, “Alright, good catch. Hopefully they get it straight this time. Did it throw off any queues or anything?”

“Dungeons and Drag…ons,” Gabe trailed off, realizing Carmen had known what he meant, just hadn’t found the joke funny. Sincerely though, he had no idea they had a medic and would definitely be using that resource next time he hurt himself on the job, “Uhhh, not a lot, a lot. No more than the average person.”
“Yeah, I know the game. I think one of my brothers played it in high school. He was a wizard or something I think?” Carmen shook her head and eyed Gabe, “Okay. Just uh, be more careful from now on, alright? I don’t need to come in and find you barbequed somewhere in the theater.” She gave him a little smile to let him know she was teasing.

While Gabe appreciated Carmen’s concern, it actually left him a little more confused, “Wait, we have a medic? What are we, a DnD party?” Moments later regretted it though, as he prayed that Carmen wouldn’t think that was the dorkiest joke ever, “No, no, I’m fine.
“DnD?” Carmen asked, confusion evident in her voice. She the game by name only, but knew next to nothing about the concept. At Gabe’s insistence he was fine she eyed him suspiciously, “You sure you don’t need to get checked out? Does this happen a lot?”

Evie groaned, letting the pen she had been anxiously chewing on drop from her mouth, as she spoke, “Is it okay if we run that again? There’s just something I want to check.”
Carmen leaned back in her chair, resting her arms on her stomach. “Yeah, let’s go from that last chorus,” she turned to her wife, “What are you checking, Ev?”

“Okay, don’t be alarmed, but I kinda just electrocuted myself,” Gabe had been kneeling under the mic board, trying to figure out which plug went to which computer. Key word there being “had been”, as he now wobbled into a standing position after putting his finger too close to the socket, “Is my hair sticking up like in cartoons?”
Carmen’s eyes went wide at Gabe’s words. She pushed herself up from the chair where she sat and walked over to him. She shook her head and scanned the boy over for injury, “It’s not. Are you okay? Do you want me to walk with you to the medic?”
