Friendly reminder to do what makes you happy. Create cringe OCs, indulge in fanon, make AUs and fun joyous stories, crackships and whatever the fuck else you want to.

Do what makes YOU happy and never let anyone take that away from you. Never let someone box you in, never let someone tell you what you can and cant create cuz of their own judgements and internalized shame.

This fandom is full of a lot of young people just trying to enjoy themselves, and even adults who just find interest in something. Read Jeff The Killers (Woods) OG story. Read Ninas, Janes, Tobys, etc, and then come to me and tell me that wasnt just some dumb kids trying to have fun.

Go watch Marble Hornets, go read up on Slendermans creation. ALL of it was just some random ass people online wanting to CREATE something because they thought it was fun. It made them happy.

Do it bad. Do it cringe. Do it ugly. Who the fuck cares. If it makes you happy, do it. The only thing that ever matters in life is creating things that bring you joy. Dont let anyone tell you otherwise, please. There are no rules, there are no right or wrong ways to create, there is no punishment for making "cringe" or "bad" art, but there is punishment to the soul for neglecting your natural desire to create

And if you shame people for being happy and indulging in OCs, AUs, stories, ships, whatever, that they enjoy, if you shame people for creating art, block me. My account holds no space for that kind of negativity. Thank you

It's kinda sad to see how strict the Creepypasta fandom has gotten. When I first joined Tumblr and really got actively involved in the fandom back in September, it was so incredible that my first fandom experience was full of people taking such basic concepts and random characters made years ago, and creating something so personal to them.

I think the most beautiful and unique part of the Creepypasta fandom is the creative liberties and artistic interpretations. The fact that we all have our own AUs and ships and headcanons, and we all have our own takes on things. Our own little worlds we made with these random ass characters. Thats something Ive always loved about this fandom, and its so sad to see people hating on others just for having their own ships, characterizations, headcanons, whatever (as long as it isnt just straight up illegal or harmful yknow, a given.)

We need to go back to letting people be happy, and letting people do what they want. Let people post things, make art, create stories, stray so far from canon, do things that you dont personally agree with. Let people be people. Theres no need to go out of your way to shove it in peoples faces when theyre just tryna enjoy something "I dont like this thing"/"This character doesnt do this in canon"/"I dont agree with this", just keep it to yourself.

Obviously theres a difference between claiming something is canon when its not and just making headcanons and AUs, but seriously man. Can we just go back to letting people have their fun?
