"have you tried retracing your steps?" alec questioned, arching a brow. it almost seemed perfect, that someone would simply stumble into his path when he was, quite frankly, ravenous. a smirk flickered across his face at the thought as soon as it crossed his mind.

the whimsical words the human spoke had alec raising a brow, a laugh then following. if only she knew. for humans, there really was no hope. all they had to look forward to was getting old, then their inevitable demise. "i don't see what all the fuss is about, if i'm being completely honest." he murmured, head tipping to the side to study the woman. "but, each to their own, of course." azure hues flicked over to settle on her face, a smirk posed in her direction, before his attention shifted back to the glass of mulled cider he had been nursing.

"the festive season always feels full of hope , like everything is possible." she spoke gleefully, appreciating the bask of market stalls in her view. a tinge of excitement was present, keen to explore , to indulge, giving her the ambition to socialise. "don't you think?" she asked, a sheepish smile on her lips as she looked up at the male. she had seen him around, but was unaware of who he was, however, she enjoyed any company she could get, which was rather sparse these days. @carnaldxsires

amusement flitted across his face at the surprise in her tone. he knew at that point that she was new to this, perhaps only a few days old at the most. as she questioned him, alec hummed. "when you have been alive as long as i, one can usually pick up on the tell tale signs of a newborn. let me guess, you haven't fed yet?" he arched a brow, his forefinger lightly tapping his chin.

"little vamplin'?" the words practically squeaked from her lips, eyes wide as though she were a deer caught in headlights. "how...how did you know that?" her voice was a low whisper, unable to take her eyes off the man. she'd yet to feed since she turned, the fear of hurting someone all too real after seeing sam and talking about vampirism.

alec's gaze met the stranger's with an air of curiosity, a brow arching. the glint of amusement in her eyes elicited a soft chuckle from the vampire, a roll of his eyes following. "fascinating, indeed," he murmured, his words ever so slightly tinged with sarcasm. "although, i must confess, i do think mythology to be rather bizarre. hot stones thrown by an old demon just seems far too unrealistic." though perhaps the same could be said for the supernatural world in which he was immersed.

" you know , mythology says that meteors occur when stars fall, when an old demon throws hot stones in the sky." she exclaimed , lips pursing together with an amused expression on her lips. She had always been one for reading, consumed in a good book, rather than taken by difficult memories and experiences. Her return to the land of the living had been somewhat disorienting. Her brother was not by her side, leading her to believe the merge had happened, despite her best efforts to prevent it. "kind of fascinating, no?"

the grand opening of the scarlet lounge was in full swing, and of course there was no way that alec would miss it. he thought it the perfect opportunity to lay down roots, to begin to make himself at home in the foreign town. entering the establishment, without need of an invitation was already a fantastic sign. smooth jazz filled the room and azure eyes took in the sight of the velvet seating. the room oozed class and, from the stories aro had told him of the mikaelson family, he hadn't expect anything else. eyes soon found the bar, a smirk settling on his face as he noticed a label on one of the taps, letting him know that blood was served here. he already didn't want to leave. even more so when he was approached by a, rather mysterious looking, man. "well, hello. what can i do for you?" a brow arched.

silence was alec's comfort zone. in the shadows was where the man spent most of his days. although the daylight ring he'd acquired permitted him to walk freely in the sun, he felt the most at home in the darkness. tonight was no different. metal rings adorned the male's slender fingers, chipped black nail varnish finished the look. a lit cigarette sat perfectly between slightly chapped lips, the red embers burning brightly at the end. then, a distraction. a sound beside him. more than that.. a voice. piercing blue hues snapped to the side. "...what?" the uttered word should have made it obvious that he had no idea what had just been said.

the spike in vampiric activity in the town of beacon hills meant that aro had his eye set firmly on the town, to make sure that order was still maintained. alec would act as his master's eyes, and report his findings. he was not here to make pleasantries or anything of the sort, merely to supervise. the town had nothing on the bustling streets of volterra, and alec was not overly fond on being here. even more so when he heard a familiar voice. eyes rolled, then snapped to the side, landing on the person the voice belonged to. "well, well, if it isn't carlisle cullen," alec drawled, a smirk playing on his lips.
