its genuinely so baffling to me like. he was just willing to try and get between two best friends and for what? to prove that he was better? a lot of his behavior dating buck is recontextualized to be so bafflingly insane. in a way it feels like all of it was showboating and failing — like some dick measuring contest eddie never even knew he was participating in that tommy still loses by a large margin. at every turn eddie is showing him up without even trying. he accidentally crashes their date and all the sudden buck is so much more concerned with eddie, he shows up to the bachelor party to see buck and eddie in matching costumes, hes a tag along to a zoom birthday for the kid eddie and buck have been pretty much raising together for the last seven years, he was there in the hospital room curled up with a coffee and asking when buck could come back to work. then eddie came over to act as buck’s caretaker with the boils — and this was enough for him to dump buck over it when buck thought he wanted something more serious (something he didnt even decide on his own, but because josh was giving his whole nonsensical speech that got into buck’s head). but then as soon as eddie’s out of the state he’s ready to try again. and hes SO into the hookup once he realizes this is eddie’s old house. is it marking his territory in a way? does he think he finally won one over on eddie? except he immediately fucks it up by bringing it up the next morning.

its all just so odd. did he like the validation? that a hot younger guy was interested? that he seemingly ‘won’ even if it never felt like it for very long? in his behavior buck was showing pretty blatantly that he didn’t care about him nearly as much as he did about eddie. and somehow throughout all of this he has no personality whatsoever and any interests he has are purely because it was meant to point out eddie had the same ones. tommy kinard you are the weirdest freak ever i wish your fandom was normal so i could dissect you without getting death threats
