Wide Awake - an original fantasy roleplay

Happy 8 months and here’s to many more exciting plots and character-building, in-character shenanigans and story progressions, and more anniversary celebrations to come. This Summer, a potion heist turned south leading to the leaking of a disastrous amount of Disrememberance Draught across the land of Xyria. Now, the citizens are losing their memories, forgetting important appointments, connections, loved ones, some are forgetting they are even causing panic and unease across the magical land. Could Xyria officials once again save themselves from the never-ending disaster that seems to plague the land lately, or would they mess this up even further, finally exposing their secret existence to the rest of the world?

Arcandia School of Magic

Arcandia School of Magic is a magic school specialized in teaching elemental magic located in Xyria, the last remaining magical nation in the world. They trains students from all across the magical land to master the four physical elements in the world: earth, air, water, fire. The school is led by a grand master who has mastery over all four elements and there's sub-division within managed by respective element master and their group of elemental teachers. Students are accepted as soon as they started showing magical abilities, some parents do also choose to enrol their young child into Arcandia kindergarten in hope of getting their children started early. Once more enveloping the magical town was an air of celebration for the promising brand new year, out on the streets are the folks eager to catch a glimpse of this year’s blooms, the opportunistic merchant lining up the paths along Central Park in Mysticwhisper Land, as well as those who simply wanted to enjoy the warmer days with their loved ones. Beware of the mischievous faeries hanging around however, or one might find themselves missing a couple of gold, a precious jewel, or even a child…

Barbie World Skin

A new project I just got inspired into making. Apart from some tinkling, I think I am done with the header.

Thinking if I would put this up for sales, but also, have to make sure everything is functioning before doing so.

So this evening I've been working on a way to make it easier to add filters to blog pages without JS. This is mainly an alternative to isotope, commonly used in icon, media, downloads, and portfolio pages. CSS only solutions, especially like this, can be intimidating to look at even if you're not new to CSS.

I'm hoping this will take care of the bulk of the work/the more complicated parts so that you can make more complex custom pages without the user having to wait for permission to use JS.

Here's a simple example with just display: none added to the CSS

And on my preview page, I've used the same code and added multiple filter groups and some CSS animations.

If you are familiar enough with HTML and CSS, you can try out what I currently have, but keep in mind you will still need to write most of the HTML and CSS yourself. I want to make a more detailed guide so that it's easier to use soon!

Revamped 2 of my older templates to fit the aesthetic of my site, and now I am so in love with this style and thinking... hmmm, maybe I shall do something matching these templates exactly for my next skin?

Invalid reasons for why a character should not be redeemed:

They’re too evil! - Redemption has nothing to do with how good or evil you were to begin with.

They don’t deserve it! - Redemption is not something that can be “deserved.”

Their actions are unforgivable! - Redemption has nothing to do with forgiveness.

It’s too late for them to change! - It is only “too late” to choose redemption when a character is dead (unless the scope of the story includes an afterlife in which change is possible).

Valid reasons for why a character should not be redeemed:

It doesn’t fit the themes of the story.

They’re not an important enough character for showing the process of a redemption arc to be worthwhile.

They’re more interesting as a character who isn’t doing the right thing.

It’s more satisfying to let them keep being evil.

It makes it more satisfying when they die.

There’s probably more, but you get the idea.

Remember, redemption is when someone realizes they are wrong, and takes steps to doing the right thing. That is not something that can be “deserved,” it is not something that hinges on forgiveness, and it is not something that it is ever too late for! …Unless the person is dead or something.
