       Upon seeing the priestess enter the room, Rokurou greetedIsanami with a small nod before asking the young woman if there was anything hecould help her with. The question that followed left him bewildered and at a loss.

       With a shake of his head, the page responded, ❝That is… an unusual question. But no, I can’t say I’ve ever experienced anythingquite like that. ❞  Crying at all was a rarity for the Water Brave.So much so that only one incident came to mind: his failure to protect the Suimonat Yukimura’s request. Even then however, his tears were brief—hardly a ‘waterfall’,as the young woman had put it. Honestly, it was an incident he’d rather leavein the past.

       ❝ May I ask what brings about thispeculiar inquisitiveness? ❞ he questioned, one slender browraised curiously. What the young priestess upset about something? She seemed to be alright, but Isanami was remarkably talented at holding a smiling façade.

       Saizou found himself staring at the young priestess, oneeyebrow arched in confusion, as well as a certain amount of disbelief that shehad made such an inquiry in the first place. Had Isanami been drinking earlieror something? That might make her random question a bit more understandable.

       ❝ Really, woman? You wake me upfrom my nap to ask me that?? ❞  A soft growl escaped the shinobi’s lips as he satup straighter, pinching the bridge of his nose. Normally he would’ve used theroof for his catnap, but today he’d spotted Kamanosuke laying traps there—presumablyfor the Light Brave. Circumventing that entire chaotic situation, Saizou hadinstead decided to doze off elsewhere. And apparently Isanami had found him,leaning against a tree trunk as he attempted to nap.

       Well, if it wasn’t one, it was another…

       ❝ No, ❞  he answered at length, ❝ Idon’t glow. My blade does if I’m using certain techniques, but I don’t think itlooks even remotely ‘like a firefly’. ❞  Glancing up at the younger woman, Saizousighed, ❝ That answer your question? ❞

"I bought you these." Messiah says simply, holding out a decorative container - bejeweled and elegant. Inside, it had an assortment of expensive chocolates. He was /trying/ to be polite to the thief who had been his longest time rival, and yet, he couldn't just say Happy Valentine's Day... "Primarily because I know you're far to cheap to obtain them legally. I thought I would eliminate the necessity of you getting your hands dirty again." Oops. He hadn't actually meant to say that...

       The box was rather exquisite, with its bejeweled outsideand elegant craftsmanship. Titus had to admit, the detective had a good eye. Thishad been a surprisingly generous gesture.

       …until the other decided to open his mouth.

       Titus scowled, ❝ Tch. You’re an asshole, ya know. If I’dstolen ‘em, it wouldn’t’ve been for me.❞  For the children he looked after,maybe. He wasn’t generally in the business of stealing solely for his own gain.Usually, anyway. Though he did have a penchant for shiny and expensive things…

       After snatching the box, the blond proceeded to shove thebouquet of flowers he’d been holding into the other man’s face. With goldeneyes narrowed, he snipped, ❝These are for you, jackass. And before you ask: no,I didn’t steal ‘em,❞  he added with a roll of his eyes.

       … though he had stolen the jewelry he’d pawned off formoney to buy said flowers. But Messiah didn’t need to know that. Besides, hewasn’t about to steal from a flower shop. They had it hard enough trying to makea living with the chaotic state of the nation.

       Sasuke’s lips pulled into a slight smile at the priestess’ curiosity, ❝ It will be better as a surprise, I think. ❞  He was very much looking forward to her first reaction upon seeing the friendly, playful creatures. She was such a gentle person, he had no doubt they would warm up to her quickly.

       At Isanami’s concern, the young man shook his head. ❝ You are not heavy, ❞  he reassured. He’d heard from some of the other men around Ueda that women could be sensitive about their weight. For the life of him, he couldn’t understand why. Still, if it was something that Isanami was potentially worried about, he would be sure to quell those fears as best he could.

       Honestly, he felt the dancer really didn’t have anything to be concerned about. She was remarkably light despite her ability to scarf down food like nothing else. He found it was somewhat fascinating, really… Besides, Sasuke was confident he could carry her around all day with ease, even with his face somewhat flushed from their proximity.

       The young man pressed onward, swiftly navigating the familiar trails with ease. It was somewhat different with a passenger, but he was careful to make sure the shrubs and trees didn’t cause her grief. Getting scraped up by the underbrush wouldn’t exactly make for a pleasant experience, and today was meant to be relaxing and fun for Isanami.

       Upon reaching the banks of the creek, Sasuke grinned, having spotted the creatures swimming beneath the water’s surface. ❝ We are here, ❞ he announced, carefully lowering himself so she could more easily regain her footing. ❝ My friends, the river otters, are eager to meet you. I am sure they will like you, ❞ he said confidently.

       As if on cue, several of the creatures poked their heads above the water’s surface, chirping and purring excitedly as they watched the two humans curiously.
