not even sure i mean this in a bad way but carol holiday from deltarune looks like a fan design

like you explain the general concept of her character to the fandom at large without showing them her design and you'd get a bunch of stuff that looks *really* similar y'know. the frigid ice queen, the mayor of town.

also her sprite, in contrast to most others we see, has pronounced shading. and some anti-aliasing, too it looks like.

compare and contrast to noelle's flat colours, with a saturated palette

these elements aren't *unheard* of with the other lightner npcs but i think you'll rarely see it to the same degree as carol, it's a neat contrast.

we needed to put as much detail as possible into her face so you can tell she's supposed to look like jim carrey as the grink.

To my mind, the main advantage of Big Stupid Tables over generative content is that generative models must, by the nature of how the technology operates, produce outputs that are statistically likely to appear in their training data, while the outputs of a well-constructed set of dice lookup tables may principally consist of combinations of elements never before attempted on account of being dumb as hell.

Dude I actually hate how people talk about poly online. Nearly every single time someone has "opinions" to share about poly it turns out to be this weird banana smoothie of shame-based puritanism with like, notes of queerphobia (i was gonna say biphobia because the rhetoric feels similar somehow, but I don't know how to articulate it) and an undertone of self-righteousness.

Like? if ur partner wants an open relationship and ur not into it, you don't need cookies for setting a boundary and breaking up with them. Like that's just healthy. Please break up with poly folks if u don't want the same relationship structure as them. U don't have to change for us, and u don't have to "convince" us that we should be mono because poly is morally bankrupt or smth. u don't need to use ur breakup as an excuse to rag on poly ppl. it's ok that ur mono, really. We don't care if ur poly or not, do what makes u happy.

Ur partner asking for an open relationship doesn't mean they are 'already cheating'. Sometimes ppl just want poly. It's like these ppl think wanting poly somehow makes u morally corrupt, like what in the cultural christianity is that?? Like somehow everyone who's poly is a nasty harlot waiting to take advantage of u? Like we're all dirty sinners trying to corrupt u? "They want to sleep while using u for stability" what a way to say that u don't understand how to love something you do not possess. Like yeah. Some partners are extremely stable. Some partners are extremely adventurous. Not everyone in your life provides the same thing. So yeah, some of my partners are stable. guess I'm "using" them.

If ur mongamous boo is already sleeping with someone else, the relationship isn't "open and u don't know it." it's cheating. They're cheating. If ur mono and ur partner is mackin' on randos they're a cheater. And guess what? U can cheat in poly relationships too. I know it's a shock that we have standards and clear agreements set in place but yeah, if u violate a relationship agreement it's cheating whether you're poly or not.

The only reason to be pissed that someone else is doing something u don't want for yourself is if ur boundaries are so porous that u think other people doing things u don't like will somehow force u into doing those same things?? Nobody is making u be poly. Don't date poly ppl if you're that turnt about it. U control the buttons u press. Leave us tf alone. Literally all I want is to be able to talk about my partners, both of whom I love very much, without worrying about losing my job or social ostracism. (And marriage equality but whatever, that's a long shot).
