Hang em high starting like this is exciting me so bad. It questions the construction of film, the paradox of a movie presenting itself as an artifact of reality. Fade to black, “the end”, but in reality this story continues. Does what continues off screen follow what happened on screen? Would I — the filmmaker, the narrator, the movie — lie to you — the spectator? How does a movie construct and therefore manipulate reality? Making a metafilm in your song is so awesome.

Especially interesting with the theme of misogyny in the lyrics — the angels cut out her tongue, Black Mariah, that girl’s not right in the brain. More of a reach, but this in conjunction with the self-awareness of the construction of film, hang em high seems to be questioning the construction of the misogynistic Female figure. Hysterical, whore, worthless, silent. Esp as seen in westerns, often as either the redeemed jezebel or pure woman with no agency. Which in relation to the rest of this album…! Centering the invisible woman. Who made her invisible? Not the vengeful husband obsessed with her. Not even her killer. Her damner is the storyteller, the film. Can you trust the storyteller who cuts off the woman’s tongue and calls her a crazy woman, or a righteous woman, or an angel?

i will say it was very interesting to watch large swaths of mcr fans see frank post a sign that could have maybe implied bisexuality (that ultimately turned out to be a reference to i think you should leave great show btw) and instantly start bending backwards and forwards to be like "he's bisexual this is just how older millennials come out guys they make jokes and small allusions to it until people get it, they don't really make coming out posts". meanwhile g way was dancing around with the trans flag on stage and posting pronouns on her fursona side account and is audibly voice training but the second you take these factors into account when gendering her you're shut down with "he hasn't come out as anything"

Black History Month Isn't Over Just Yet, Help Me Get a Wheelchair!!!

I am a Black Chronically ill/Disabled Lesbian. I have been a mobility aid user for over a decade, and with my most recent illness flare and health set back, I desperately need a wheelchair. I have put off getting a wheelchair for years but my health is to a point where I need a wheelchair to function outside the house or I cant leave my house at all. Being stuck inside my house has done a toll on my mentally, and has prevented me from having consistent meaningful employment.

I have been saving for a wheelchair but I am nowhere close enough to buy the wheelchair I need, new adaptive tech, and the 2 ramps I need for my home. I am hoping to cr*wdfund for just the price of the chair not the ramps or adaptive tech. I need 1,120 to cover the cost of the chair.
