ive played the current run of carrionclan up until spindle's death, because i have very little self control. this doodle reflects that.

the original idea was that ghost was going to pass down her collar to the next deputy, because half the reason she wears it is because its the teeth of shadestar's deputy, Ghostbite, who is also her namesake. but i didnt like how she looked without it so i decided to have her pass down her knife instead. the leader's job is to represent the clan as much as serve it. the deputy does not hold the same burden.

another thing caused by the switch from spider to carrion is that i gave buzzard smoke vulture feathers instead of webs! i think its more befitting. its not completley drawn but the feathers make up a neckpeice and decorate the base of her tail.

spindlestar expression practice. i think ive been trying to draw cats long enough that ive forgotten how cats look. either way im not terribly fond of these.

because of the switch from spiderclan to carrionclan, ive also reused an idea ive had of Spindle hanging onto a rabbit charm. her warrior name was spindlehare, so i like the idea of her keeping that part of her history alive on her necklace. i also like the refrence to rabbitclan.

i tend to struggle going back and forth on what i should share and what i should keep to myself for story's sake. for now, tho, i figure ill share whatever i make for funsies cuz i want this to be a much lower stress project than rabbitclan was. thats also why im not jumping straight into the comic.

anyway, i ended up doing 3 runs for this 1 clan before getting characters i really like, but i still have various cats that i enjoyed from the last saves? so some of the old ones will be used as legends or spirits for present day.

Shadestar was leader during the start of the apocalypse, and Gossamerstar was his successor. these were simple sketches to get their designs down from their sprites, but i dont like how they turned out, so eventually ill be redoing them.
