IT BEGINS

now that this is public i cannot WAIT until this goes viral-- puppetswap is my favorite, not to mention THE funniest, undertale/deltarune au i’ve ever seen!

So months ago I had a small Idea that born like a small request:

"do a lightner Spamton and put Kris as the secret boss"

and boom, a new AU just born.

In this universe the story is similar, but in here, Spamton isn't only a lightner, but the human in the prophecy.

Meanwhile Kris is a silly little muppet, still carrying the puppet motive but keeping their personality and stuff that makes Kris... welll, Kris.

on this place you'll see anything involving this Au and what it has to offer!.

after all, this is just the beggining.

carte blanche is from the original dark world, with all the card-themed characters- she ended up in the cyber world years ago, when the blank card from the deck was tossed into the trash can inside the computer lab. no one ever empties the trash can so it’s still there.

she doesn’t turn to stone in the cyber world because she’s blank- she isn’t anything, so she can fit in with whatever.

Carte Blanche is a recurring Deltarune OC created by Looms the Octoluma. She is a shopkeeper and secret boss that can be found in Cyber City in Chapter 2. She is the blank card from the same deck as all the other card-themed Darkners.

Biography

In Chapter 1, Carte Blanche's card can be found inside the trash can in the computer lab. There's a small sparkle inside the trash can. Interacting with it gives the text, "It's a trash can. There's a blank card inside."

In Chapter 2, Carte Blanche lives in an alleyway in Cyber City, where she runs a sketchy color-themed drink shop. The walls of her alleyway are decorated with glowing graffiti, and colorful diamond-shaped lights are strung up. Colorful smoke fills the air, seeping out from a dumpster in the back of the alleyway.

Carte Blanche is first encountered inside the dumpster. She jumps out of it and introduces herself to Kris, offering them a pencil-cigarette. She then paints the wall, creating a door to her shop.

Inside the shop, the player can buy seven different drinks and/or a weapon. The drinks come in different colors and have different effects depending on the color. The weapon, called "weird ass sword thing", transforms into a different weapon depending on who was the first person to equip it.

The "Sell" option is replaced with "NEW FUNKY MODE". By selecting the "Talk" option, the player can also ask Carte Blanche about the drinks, her poster of Rouxls Kaard, her TV, or Lancer. Asking her about the drinks prompts her to list the hex color codes of each different drink she sells, before realizing "oh wait, were you talking about those drinks in the mini fridge? that's mountain doo dee doo. top quality stuff right there." Asking her about her poster of Rouxls Kaard causes her to become flustered and keep making typos in her dialogue, calling Rouxls a "dumb and stupid idiot", before admitting she has a crush on him. She threatens to steal Kris' elbows if they tell anyone about her crush. She then admits "even if he remembered me, he wouldn't like me anyway. i'm just a blank card, squid. no skills, no talent, nothing to offer except for drinks in various suspicious hex codes". Asking her about her TV (which flickers constantly with static) prompts her to tell Kris that it used to have all her favorite channels, including Cooking with a Killer Robot and "the club penguin hockey game"- but now it's mostly just garbage noise. Asking her about Lancer causes her to make the Lancer chad face and Lancer's theme to play, while she spouts nonsense like "my SONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNghgh66tthutgg255h".

Carte Blanche's normal route secret boss battle is unlocked by going on a quest to retrieve new paint colors for her. Selecting the "NEW FUNKY MODE" option prompts her to tell Kris to go find the Swatchlings, change them to the hex color codes she told them about earlier, and absorb their colors. After this, any encounter with a Swatchling will have a new ACT option that allows the player to enter in a hex color code. Entering in one of the correct codes will add the color to the player's key items. Once all seven colors are collected, returning to Carte Blanche and selecting the "NEW FUNKY MODE" option again will have her warn Kris that once they give her the colors, her shop will close. If the player chooses to give her the colors, she exits the shop (forcing the player out as well), tells Kris to meet her "at the ferris wheel". She then draws an 'm̋' symbol on the ground beneath her, which creates a portal. She jumps into the portal, then it closes up.

After this, the player must travel to the ferris wheel billboard in Cyber City and walk into the ferris wheel. Kris, Susie and Ralsei will then noclip into the billboard, entering a dark hallway with a portal on the other end. Entering the portal will trigger a transformation scene similar to entering the Dark World, except Kris, Susie and Ralsei turn into crudely painted graffiti drawings. They land in an environment that appears to be painted scenery of an amusement park (just like the walls of Carte's shop). Carte Blanche then makes her appearance (as a crudely painted graffiti drawing) and talks to the gang for a moment, before drawing a weapon and starting the battle.

Each turn, Carte Blanche uses one of the seven different hex colors on both herself and Kris' SOUL, changing up her attacks as well as the SOUL Mode. Each color corresponds to one of the seven different human souls. She can be spared by ACTing and using an eraser on her enough times until she's completely white again, or killed by depleting her HP. After this, she turns into an item and a Shadow Crystal, just like the other secret bosses.

In the Snowgrave/weird route, Carte Blanche's secret boss battle is unlocked by using one of her items to kill Rouxls Kaard. The "weird ass sword thing", when given to Noelle, turns into a Freeze Sword, which "Freezes enemies from the inside out.". Only Kris can equip this item, and once it's equipped, it can't be unequipped. After Berdly is frozen and the player advances towards Queen's mansion, if the Freeze Sword is equipped, Kris will not meet up with Susie and Ralsei before entering the mansion. Instead, Kris will be confronted by Rouxls Kaard, who vows to stop Kris from entering in an attempt to protect the Queen. Rouxls is quickly struck down by Kris with the Freeze Sword. Despite being fatally injured, Rouxls still starts the battle and fights Kris. His attacks and speech become slower and weaker each turn as he slowly dies, before eventually collapsing and freezing completely into an ice statue. The Freeze Sword then shatters and whatever item Kris had equipped before equipping it is re-equipped. If Lancer is checked on at this point, he is not yet a stone statue, and stands idly in your inventory with no dialogue and a sad expression.

After this, Kris enters the mansion alone and proceeds through it normally, except without Susie and Ralsei. Eventually, Kris reaches the acid river and begins to sail through it on a boat. Inside the acid river area, the lights are off, causing the acid to illuminate the area with a lime-green glow. There is no music, Queen does not appear on the screens, and all the puzzles are skipped. Eventually, Kris reaches the area where Rouxls Kaard would be fought on a normal route. Unable to get the boat across, Kris steps out onto the island. Another boat sails up, with Carte Blanche lounging on it, smoking a pencil-cigarette. She throws her cigarette into the acid and pulls out Rouxls' sword, telling Kris about how she found it before entering the mansion and imagined someone telling her, "It's dangerous to go alone! Take this.". She jumps out of her boat onto the island, and continues to ramble about how she took a closer look at the sword lying there all alone, and then she "realized". She falls to her knees with her head down, her hair covering her face in the same way as Kris' hair. She then puts on Rouxls' pirate hat, stands up, points the sword at Kris, and tells them to "Proceed."

The battle against Carte Blanche begins, with her letting you make the first move. After you take your turn, she paints your SOUL green and then attacks. Her attacks with Rouxls' sword work similarly to Undyne's spear attacks in Undertale. Her battle dialogue has her saying that she's going to be Rouxls' "true hero" and avenge him, how in his last moments he was "lost, frightened, and confused" and that "he had no one, kris. no one to save him". She then thinks of Lancer, remembers that he is with Kris, and is horrified that "you made him watch".

When Carte Blanche's HP is depleted, her sword is knocked out of her hands and falls into the acid river, along with her hat. She attempts to summon an attack with paint, but it bounces off Kris' shield. Kris takes a step towards her, backing her onto the edge of the island. She starts to panic, summoning more paint attacks, but they all fail. Kris approaches Carte and the screen fades to white, then an attack sound is heard, signifying Carte's death. The scene ends and cuts to Kris exiting the acid river on Carte's boat. Kris meets up with Susie and Ralsei, and the rest of the Snowgrave/weird route continues as normal.

Shop

Carte Blanche runs a shop hidden inside an alleyway in Cyber City. The back wall inside the shop is covered in glowing paint, painted to look like an amusement park (resembling World Bowser from Super Mario 3D World). There's a mini-fridge in the back filled with green cans labelled "doo dee doo". There's also a TV duct-taped to the wall, which displays flickering static, and a drawing of Rouxls Kaard sloppily taped to the wall.

Carte Blanche sells the following items:

red drink - decreases damgae (Decreases damage taken when you get hit in a battle.)

orang - <YEAH SPEED> (Makes your SOUL move faster in a battle.)

yellow - pingas colada (Damages the enemy you're fighting when you get hit in a battle.)

GREEN. - GREEN. (Heals all party members' HP a bit after each turn.)

cyan - pipis (Makes enemy's attacks move slower.)

blue - do NOT ASK what's in this (Shortens the enemy's turn.)

purple - [no description] (Allows you to have each party member perform two actions on the next turn.)

weird ass sword thing - schizophrenic object (Changes into a different weapon depending on what party member was the first to equip it.)

Appearance

Carte Blanche is a short humanoid with pale grey skin, messy short white hair, droopy eyes, and a wide smile. She wears a white sleeveless dress with a waistband and poofy skirt, a black choker, long white gloves, and white high heeled boots. Normally, she’s completely white/blank, but during her battle in the normal route, she uses paint to become various colors.

Personality

Carte Blanche is insane just like the other secret bosses. Her speech quirk is that sometimes her dialogue reads like someone who's terrible at typing and has to continuously correct their typos. Example:

Under her goofy and nonsensical demeanor, she's subtly snarky and manipulative. She's creative and imaginative, but lacks the skills or talent to achieve her ideas.

In the Snowgrave/weird route, if Rouxls Kaard is killed, her silly speech patterns and mannerisms start to crack and she speaks and operates more coherently, showing a more serious side of her.

She has a crush on Rouxls Kaard, and tries to hide it.

Carte Blanche's name is a pun- the words sounding like "card blank", translating literally into "white card", and the term 'carte blanche' meaning "freedom of choice", going along with the freedom theme that all the other Deltarune secret bosses have.
