"you are correct in that, nix.” she agreed. “well it looks good on you. you should do it more more often.” she complimented, nudging him lightly with her elbow.

“well yeah i know but again, have you looked at us? we’re quite the pair in comparison to…well, anyone.” zoe laughed shaking her head fondly. 

“i suppose we are quite the loud pair.” she chuckled along with the girl. “a lot of people are quiet compared to us.”

“exactly, it will be nice” zoe laughed as she put on some gloss. “oh i think she will, i’m not too sure. i haven’t heard her talk about it.”

carter finished up her hair and quickly slipped into her dress. “i hope she will! she seems a little quiet compared to us. i’m sure we’ll break her.” she chuckled.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen you this cleaned up,” Phoenix teased as he slid in next to @carterlunax​.  Usually when he saw her, they were bickering about street racing logistics in badly lit alleyways, which didn’t exactly call for dressing up.  “I gotta say, it’s a pretty good look on you.”

“this is the other side of me, baby.” she chuckled. carter wasn’t often dressed up around phoenix. racing usually called for leggings. “you clean up nice yourself.”

“Yes, I did look in a mirror, and that mirror pointed in your direction. It was a total Snow White moment, and who am I to deny that?” She couldn’t help but grin, leaning her full weight against the bar. “How are you? I feel like it’s been too long.”

“right, of course. you can’t argue with the magic mirror.” she chuckled. “i’m pretty good! getting busier now that the weather is being a little nicer. how have you been? it’s definitely been too long.”

Cordi liked to think she wasn’t hard to spot. On a good day, when she wasn’t wearing shoes, she tended to nearly tower over everyone, so when she put a pair of heels on it was even worse. However, the moment she heard her best friend’s voice, she was almost relieved to finally spot her, arms draping over her small frame comfortably. “My comfort human,” she cooed softly, resting her cheek against her best friend’s. “You have no idea how glad I am to see you.”

carter sighed happily, glad to be reunited with the girl. while she had just seen her yesterday, it had been too long. “not as happy as i am to see you.” she pulled back a little to take a look at cordelia’s dress. “absolutely breathtaking.”

“which is going to be great because i think everyone here needs a good hungover. imagine how quiet the building will be tomorrow morning.” she laughed.

“which will be a nice change for the sober ones, i’m sure.” she chuckled. “i haven’t quite figured out harper yet, but i’m sure she’ll party with us, right?”

“We always meet like this,” the blonde teased softly, sidling up to Carter and giving her a gentle poke with her elbow. It felt like this was the first time she’d really been out in weeks despite just having returned from a weekend trip, but seeing a familiar face instantly calmed her. “You look beautiful. Dare I say more beautiful than everyone else, even.”

the first thing carter did when she got to the party was head to the bar and grab a drink. the second thing was locate her best friend. after searching what felt like the entire club, she finally found her. “deli meat, baby! there you are, i’ve been looking everywhere for you!” she exclaimed, throwing her arms around cordelia.

carter was always a little worried when lazarus came to a party where she know almost everyone would be drinking. she trusted him, she knew he would be fine, but it was always a thought in the back of her head. she grabbed him a soda and headed over to his table. “hey babe, you need a refill?” she offered.

“ooh so am i!! i mean, i know it’s a formal event and all but i know the people in this building and i know that they won’t say no to drinking.” 

“you’re right, i can only think of two people in the whole building that would decline a drink. i am prepared for the rest of us to be trashed.”

carter noticed lottie a little off to the side of the party, seemingly not as into it as everyone else. she knew this needed to be immediately rectified. she ordered a couple of cocktails for them and brought them over to lottie. “drink up, babe.” she put the drink down in front of her.

“you have no idea how excited i am to dance and get fucked up tonight.”

“Oh, then I definitely need to invest in one of those,” they laughed easily, giving Carter a grin.  “I think I crack my phone at least once every four months.”

“oh yeah, it’s saved my life a few times.” she chuckled. “oh my god, you really need a better case if you crack it that often.

“well, depending on what happens tonight, we should probably be very hungover tomorrow so that will be our lazy day.” zoe laughed. “and soon enough we can have the relaxation day…or days.” she giggled.

“true. i plan to get plenty drunk enough to be hungover tomorrow.” she chuckled. “days... you’re just making this sound more and more appealing.”
