I wouldn't say I "ship" BJ and Hawkeye but I'm endlessly compelled by scenarios in which the love is there but it doesn't work out or ultimately end up in romance. The love is there but it's ambiguous. The love is there but BJ's pride is stronger. The love is there but Hawkeye won't break up a marriage. The love is there but it will never be like it was in Korea. The love is there but it's built on a foundation of pain and horror and homesickness, which will always be a part of it. The love is there but it's only romantic on one side. The love is there but only if we don't look it in the eye.
