the boy was sitting on the couch and carter looked over at the other when they spoke about the movie they were about to watch. "sounds great. lets here these options" he said smiling at her as he made himself even more comfy on their couch. it was nice to finally catch up with adalynn and just chill after being snowed in for the past week. "i mean i will always say yes to a movie with adam sandler in it or a fast and furious movie" carter said looking at the other. "but honestly. any of these will be great. what do you feel like watching" he asked. "take out sounds great. chinese, thai or something completely different?"
for: carter ( @carterstfu ) location: their place
"so, i wasn't sure what to watch," adalynn admitted, laughing a bit, "so i narrowed it down to a couple of things. we got some action flicks, mystery flicks, comedy, stoner comedy, or my personal favorite, horror." she comes over to sit next to carter, flopping onto the couch, dressed in her casual sweats and oversized shirt. even though they were roommates it wasn't often the two got to share a movie night liek this, and she enjoyed the rare times they did. she wished they could do it more often so that she didn't come throwing a hundred things carter's direction when they did choose to watch a movie together. "any of that call out to you? also," she grinned, tucking a bit of hair behind her ear, "i was thinking we order some take out. what say you?"

carter couldn't help but watch lindsey play uno with ivy's daughter ana for what looked like the end of several games. it was refreshing seeing the excitement in the little girls voice when she had won. they needed laughter around them. as he saw lindsey walk away he couldn't help but comment on his uno skills. "were you letting her win or is she really that good at uno?" he asked smirking at the girl.
Lindsey had just spent the past hour getting her ass handed to her in uno by Ana. Okay maybe she let the little girl win the first game or two, but to win all five was insanity. Finally breaking free of her loosing streak. The actress meandered around the lobby finally hoping at any minute she'd be allowed to go back to her apartment and crash, but she knew that hope was probably pretty slim.

the boy had finished doing the rounds and making sure that everyone had a blanket, some water and something to eat and he found himself leaning up against the door frame that lead to the bar. he was also keeping an eye on that incase they needed help since there wasn't much else to do. carter looked over at angus who he noticed had now turned to speak to him. "yeah i guess. they are probably trying to get the generator back on and all of that stuff. but yeah i get it. its a little boring" he said looking at the other.
Snowed In || Open
Angus was unable to escape the hotel it seemed. New York decided to gift the residents and employees with snow. It hadn’t snowed in New York for some time now. He loved looking at it but he hated being trapped at work. He would have much rather been home, in his bed, under the covers, and looking out the window. Preferably drowning in booze or smoking some weed. Luckily he had his dab pen on him but he was reluctant to stepping outside in this weather. There was the hotel bar, but he didn’t want to start drinking this early alone. Maybe he could find a resident who would pity him and drink with him. Or another one of his coworkers that were now off the clock. Purring his lips, he let out a small soft sigh before turning to the person next to him and saying, “You’d think they would offer some kind of entertainment if we are going to be stuck here with this snow storm.”

carter had found himself in the lobby watching the snow fall and scanning the room to see if anyone needed anything. he was debating about trying to see if he could get the generator going but he wasn't too sure if he would have any luck at it. just as he was about to walk off to get something to drink he noticed the male who was standing near him turn to face him. "i think its because you look like the type to be in charge plus you gave that lady your coat" he said smiling at the other.

gunner wasn't used to being responsible, it was something he was learning. which was pathetic considering his age, but as a man raised by parents who were too rich for their own good... it was the reality. when the power started to out, he was already preparing for the worst. dressed in just a thick black hoodie, jeans and a pair of gloves, he grabbed a coat as an afterthought. slung haphazardly over his arm as his concerns immediately went to his daughter, he grabbed a flashlight and made his way to the lobby. it's not but a few moments later that he's handing off his coat to someone who looks like they need it more. another first. that's the snowball into his unintentional directing people towards supplies and helping them locate their friends. he excused himself for a few moments and turned to the person beside him. "i'm not even qualified to be directing people... i'm a little surprised they keep coming up to me." his words holding a hint of shock and awe.

carter was working at the polo bar and it had just finally settled down and she noticed lindsey leaving the bar. he had know how much she had to drink so he decided to just make sure she was okay as she was looking a little lost. "its the decor for sure" he said as he caught up to her just intime to hear her. "lets get you to your floor" he said with a smile before leading her to the elevator and then pressing the button. "you good?" carter asked as they waited.
Lindsey frowned. She had just left the bar not even 60 seconds ago, and she was already lost. What was even more embarrassing was that she had lived here six months and still didn’t know her way around. Granted most of the time she ventured outside of her room, it was with the intention to be completely trashed by the time she came back home. Though today was somewhat of an exception, she was only mildly tipsy.
“Why does EVERYTHING have to look the exact same?” She grumbled. She peered again at the map and then at her keycard. “FLOOR EIGHT!? Sure put the drunk girl on floor eight. She’ll find her way.” She sighed taking off her heels as she made her way to the elevator.”

carter was on his last hour or so before his shift had finished and he was doing the rounds to collect any empty glasses that made their way from the bar to the public areas around the hotel. he always left the pool until last cause that seemed to have the most glasses and it was easier to make it the last trip before heading back to the bar. as the boy walked into the pool area and noticed that someone was in the pool and it didn't take them long for them to notice him. he saw the spa door open so he had a feeling that it could be andrew since the spa was now closed. "its just carter man" he said as he walked closer to where the other was in the pool. "hows the water?" he asked
It was 9 pm, which meant the spa was officially closed for the day. After wrapping up the last of his work, Andrew walked to the indoor pool connected to the spa building and inhaled deeply. Something about the smell of chlorine-filled, clear pool water made him want to jump right in. He kept the main lights turned off, with only the glow from the massage area illuminating the water. Taking his shirt off and changing into his swim trunks, Andrew dived into the pool with a loud splash. It had been a couple months and no one had told him that he wasn't allowed to do this, or walked in on him, and nowhere in his employee contract did it specifically mention that he wasn't allowed to swim in the hotel pool. Yes, he'd checked.
The twenty-five-year-old swam a couple laps across the length of the pool; he'd rather swim than lift weights at the gym. Once he'd worked out to his satisfaction, he leaned against the wall of the pool and let out a contented sigh. This was really the life.
"Huh? Uh- who's there?" he frowned, as he saw a figure approaching the pool. In the darkness, he could only make out their silhouette from afar. It suddenly dawned on him that he'd forgotten to lock up. Biting his bottom lip, Andrew waited for the figure to come closer, wondering if it was a guest or one of his co-workers.

carter smiled at the other. "you're welcome and oh you do an amazing job at what you do. honestly, its so cool and incredible." he said looking at her. "yes will do. ill just the new roster which has come out and let you know" he said before following her out of the elevator and to her room. "yeah just for a little bit longer so i can come in for a little but then got to get back. if i don't finish the stock count its not gonna be good" he said chuckling. "i could go for a coffee if you wouldn't mind" carter said before closing the door before him.
She was used to staying up late for university, and that seemed to translate even better when she was playing games so it was almost a no-brainer for Jane to challenge being on stream for 24 hours. "Thank you! I really work hard on growing my channel, it's all I got." She said, voice coming low in a whisper towards the end of her sentence. This really was all she had going for her, and she didn't know what she'd do if this didn't go right. The elevator door dinged open, and Jane led the way out towards her front door. "Of course! Just message me whenever you're free. You know me, I'm always online." It was not at all an exaggeration, Jane was always on her computer. She might not be playing games but she would be handling emails or having business meetings. Unlocking her door, Jane looked at Carter. "You're on break, right? You got anything else to do? I have coffee, tea, and--all this. You want to come inside?"

carter chuckled at the other, "i would much rather deal with our residents than the tourists who come and just cause choas" he said looking at the other. "let them go home and never come again" he said chuckling some more. "well thats good, but yes we are still in january. 2024 is gonna be a good year for all of us" he said looking at the other. "but yes those will also help you get through the year"
“You know why they’re the worst right? Because they go home and don’t have to see us ever again if they choose to.” He chuckled bitterly. “Things are okay for the most part. We’re still in January so I’m not holding my breath that it won’t be a shitty year. But I got booze and weed to help me through if it is.” He flashed a grin at the other.

carter smiled at the other as she spoke about her twenty-four hour stream and her food haul. "oh i get it. i'm sure it will all be great" he said. "i can imagine. honestly. don't know if i could do it for a whole twenty-four hours so major props for you. but glad you reached your sub goal and you had fun" the boy said before readjusting the bag he was holding. "those are good games and you can never go wrong with valorant and i would love too. i have some time off in a couple of days or i can come over after work one time and we can play for a bit?"
Carter was always a familiar face to be around, and Jane appreciated how lucky she was that he was here taking a break from work to find her in distress with the weight of her choices. "Thank you! To be honest, I think I kind of went crazy and just grabbed whatever I wanted without thinking much." She said, tucking herself against the wall of the elevator. "Yes! They're so fun but honestly so tiring. I had to take naps on stream to keep me going but I reached my sub goal so that's great! I played a lot of indie horror games, but you know me--I always end up playing a lot of good o'l Valorant." She relayed to him excitedly. "Are you free soon? We should play together again. It's been so long!"

carter smiled at the other. he had met the other when she had first moved into the arconia and they soon became friends and starting bonding on the games they would play online. "it looks like you got a good selection of food too." he said smiling before he nodded before taking some of the bags she was juggling. "no bother at all. i need a quick break from stock counting anyway" he said before he walked into the elevator. "oh you're doing another one of those. how fun. what game did you play?" carter asked looking at the other before pressing her floors button. "
How embarrassing! Jane thought, sheepishly stepping away from the elevator doors to allow him to press the button up for her. "Unfortunately," she said, grateful for him offering his help, "I promise I'm a normal person... this is just... a treat?" She glanced down at the paper bags full of junk food in her arms. She didn't know why she found the need to justify her choices to him but it was so late and she was here sneaking around like a thief in the night with questionable food choices. "You sure? I don't want to be a bother, really. Usually, I could handle this amount of bags in my hand but I have been awake for twenty four hours so my balance is... not the best." She said, eventually making a move to hand one of the bags to him.

the polo bar had closed for hours now but the boy was working the graveyard shift. it was that time of the month where they had to do a stock count of everything in the bar plus the stock room. alcohol, glasses, mixers, absolutely everything. carter had just finished in the stock room when he noticed one of the guests having trouble with the elevator. carter walked over and nodded at her. "of course, here" he said before he pressed the up button. "do you need any help? looks like you've got your hands full there" he said smiling at the other.
OPEN STARTER!! location: hotel hallways time: late night / early morning relationship: any, stranger or close friends
Twenty-four-hour streams are things that Jane knew she could only do about once or twice a year, otherwise, she would go crazy. As much as Jane loved her job and loved the fact that she could play games for a living, doing it for twenty-four hours straight could make her burn out. After ending her stream, Jane runs down to the nearby convenience store to splurge on junk food. Hey, she deserved it, didn't she? It didn't matter that it was an ungodly hour of the night, Jane wanted her chips and chips she would get. But one problem--with her haul costing her both of her hands, Jane had trouble getting the elevator. Turning around to the sound of footsteps approaching her, she looked at them with an embarrassed grin, almost guilty of the sin of being caught with bags of junk food. "Hi there. Elevator, please?"

it wasn't very often that the boy had to be at work before 10am but they had new stock coming in and they had to prepare for private party so he found himself at the arconia at 5:30am in the morning. he normally was a the gym at this time but today he found himself at the coffee bar for his wake up call since he could sweat it out. he was sitting down enjoying his coffee when he saw angus come in, he must have been either finishing up from the graveyard shift or he was just starting. the boy smiled at the other when they acknowledged him. "yeah it seems like that. i'm just starting. what about you?" carter asked looking at the other before taking another sip of his coffee.

Angus had been working a shift all night. He was naturally a night person but morning was creeping up. Soon guests would be waking up and the place would be buzzing with activity. Angus decided to take a fifteen minute break and go to The Daily Grind Coffee Bar. It was one of his favorite places besides the bar where you get booze from. It was nearing 5:30 AM. Luckily the bar was just opening and he was arriving there right on time. "Good, you're open. I'll have a double shot of espresso with two pumps of chocolate syrup and three sugars please." He put the money down on the table for the cashier who looked like they weren't happy to be there. He didn't blame them. If he had to be there that early in the morning, he wouldn't be in the mood either. He was happy to be getting off in about an hour or so. To his right, he noticed someone creeping up on him. "I thought I was the only one up right now. Just getting in or getting off?"

"just one of those days and i haven't been to the gym in a couple days to get in the ring, so that hasn't helped so probably just getting to the end of my capcity" he said looking at the other. "oh yeah, anything i can help with? i have the next two days off. oh no, what's it doing?" the boy asked looking at the other. "oh i'm not going back in there yet." he said chuckling. "the taking out the trash can take a little bit longer"
Gil nearly snorted but held himself in check. Tough customers. Yeah, he knew what that was like — and he knew what it was like to need to keep himself in control when they reared their ugly heads. Gil preferred using the walk-in to let out his frustration, which mostly meant standing in icy silence and starring daggers at the veg, or just good old-fashioned repression. Letting it fester was usually the go-to. "I've been there," he answered simply. Brow furrowed, he glanced up in response to Carter's you all good? He rolled his eyes and brought his attention back to the black screen. "Yeah, there's just a hundred things I need to get done before the semester starts up next week," he started, "and my phone chooses this moment to be an asshole." It was mostly an asshole all day every day, but he had a real issue with it right then. "But hey, don't let me stop you from returning to our charming clientele."

"yeah i totally get that and most days i feel the same" he said looking at the other. "thanks man. honestly cant wait for all the tourists to come home cause they are the worst ones" carter said looking at the other. "so how have things been? everything still good with you?" he asked the other. carter enjoyed the others company, they had been working together for quite some time now and they always seemed to get along.
"Yeah. But honestly, I'd almost rather it be busy because it makes the shifts go by faster." He said honestly. Sure the business' overwhelmed him at times, but at least when he clocked in it seemed as if it was already time to clock out. "I'm sorry they've been giving you a hard time. Once the holidays are over, peoples grace periods tend to drop."

the boy looked at the other. carter had always admired how well clarence looked after the hotel and everyone in it. "it was just constant demands and just being super rude and arrogant and honestly just giving me a hard time and i knew i was going to lose it so just needed to remove myself from the situation. i need to get myself to the gym thats all" he said looking at the other. "thank you. you don't need my problems while you aren't working plus what are you still doing here if you're finished? you should be enjoying the rest of your day"
Clarence gave a slight hum in understanding. “Wanna talk about it?” He offered. “You don’t have to talk to me like I’m your boss,” he thought to add after a moment. People usually gave him the this-won’t-get-me-fired version of things. “You can talk to me like I’m just some guy. I’m off the clock.” Has been for about two hours now.

carter smiled at the other before leaning against the wall. "well thats good then at least. not too crazy. it got so busy for a minute but i mean it always seem to when its holiday season" he said looking at the other. "glad things have slowed down for you and its been okay but just some guests being a little difficult. hence why i am out here. just needed a little breather."
"You're all good." Angus said as he pulled out his vape from his back pocket and began to take a drag from it. "It's been alright. Not too busy tonight. Now with the holidays being behind us, things have slowed down now. How about you? How's your night going?"
