it’s so important for children to have queer relatives that they get to see living happy and fulfilling lives

This is a legitimate and damaging cultural shift for all involved parties and it needs to be addressed.

Almond has befriended a new girl who lives just one house apart from us. They've played three times now on our yard and I'm so happy for her. She seems so big now that she can just have friends over. Ofc i have make the arrangements for now but i think over the summer they'll just be running to each other's houses.
I'm realizing how many unwritten rules to friendships there are that i need to teach Almond. Like why can't we ask her to come play with us everyday. And why can't she just go to their yard. Or invite herself there. Or give her friend all the sweets and toys.
And then there's the mother!! She seems super chill and I hope we'll be friends! and also i would put my keys in the same bowl with hers if you know what i mean
And the father of the family also has some same hobbies as my hubby so i'm hoping our whole families will be bonding. Their other kid is 2 years older than Cinnamon so they're not exactly a great match for playmates yet but idk, Cinnamon is easily entertained so maybe they'll become friends too.

toddler dilemma: they want to do something themself (tonight it was walk to bed) but they won't do it and it will take forever to make them do it. Or you can do the basic "i'll count to three and carry you" and then they'll throw a tantrum that takes forever (because they really wanted to do it "by myself"). No matter which option you choose, it will take 15 mins out of your bedtime routine.
tonight, i chose the latter one. and the thing that finally calmed Cinnamon down, was Almond singing her twinkle twinkle little star. How fucking adorable is that?? They have fought today so much that i'm glad we got a sweet moment in before the day ends.

My baby daughter got her adorable puffin-print dress absolutely CAKED in mud crawling around the yard and my first thought was "oh no her beautiful dress"
And my second thought was "oh huh it really WOULD be easy to unconsciously steer her away from playing in the dirt. Unlike my son, whose outfits are usually some kind of solid dark easily washed pants plus a shirt that doesn't trail in the dirt like a dress does."
Anyway something something gender roles start getting shoved on kids from literal birth, but with a little time to think about things, YOU TOO can let your children of any gender absolutely destroy their clothes in the dirt pit they're digging in your garden

english summary: cinnamon speaks stereotypical "broken finnish" and i find it funny

man the crazy thing about babies is that like, some people would think that reading a baby a book about farm animals is teaching them about farm animals, but really it’s teaching them about the concept of a book and how there’s new information on each page of a single object, but really, beyond that, it’s teaching them how language works, and beyond that it’s really actually teaching them about human interaction, and really really it’s them learning about existing in a three-dimensional space and how they can navigate that space, but actually, above all it is teaching them that mama loves them.

first 15 mins of mother's day: idyllic breakfast in bed, kids showing off the crafts they've made in daycare.
rest of the day: laundry, cause somehow both of the kids have peed their bed the same night. then they continue to fight whose turn is it to be alone in the hammock.

This is the true test of parenthood. Your toddler gave this to you, will you eat it?

my weirdest tip for toddler (girl) parenting is that when they are getting on your nerves, do their hair on piggy tails. They immediately become such a cute cartoon character that you simply cannot take them seriously or get mad at them <3

Today Cinnamon told me she loves her teddy<3 she's the most adorable thing in the world.
Almond confused us this morning as I went to wake her up and she was nowhere to be seen. After a while we found out that she had gotten up for toilet at night and decided to continue the night on the living room couch.
Kids, am i right

I hate the sound of babies crying, but I can't hate a baby. They've been here for like five minutes and approach this situation with an unhesitant attitude of "my needs are unmet and I am going to make it everybody's problem", and I respect that.
