Jimi Hendrix famously woke up the early morning crowd at Woodstock with his immortal rendition of The Star Spangled Banner on his electric guitar. It was now the fourth day of the music festival (August 18, 1969) which had been behind schedule since the beginning. After 80+ hours of the concert there were less than 35,000 people remaining (from a peak of over 400,000) to hear Jimi play.
