Cashmore&Johnson have a shared interest in psychogeography, relational aesthetics and site specific inquiry. Their practice identifies sites of sociopolitical interest to create interventions and events informed by the female experience of place, traditional female working practices and domestic ritual. C&J are Jenny Cashmore www.jennycashmore.com and Celia Johnson www.celia-johnson.com
Cashmore & Johnson at Rotherwas Munitions Factory in December. We returned today to meet Nicola Goodwin of BBC Hereford and Worcester. Really pleased that our first response to the site and the history of the Canary Girls might help raise awareness for the BBC’s campaign for official recognition of the Munitionettes who worked there. More work in development….

23rd May 2015
The Cashmore Johnson Art Collective (Jenny Cashmore and Celia Johnson) is a collaborative, project and research based practice that explores site and community in relation to psychogeography and relational aesthetics. Making interventions and installations in response to the environment, the Collective provides a forum to focus on the female experience of place as well as exploring traditional female working practices.
For Divided by the Bath Water we have made a performative work informed by Bath’s history as a thermal Spa - using the local water as art material and cleaning as an artistic practice. In preparation for the opening of the show, we have cleaned the floor of gallery and are exhibiting our mops and bucket of dirty water alongside photographs documenting the performance.
Tomorrow at noon, we will be developing this idea and continuing the performance as part of a FAB Intervention, by cleaning the streets of Bath.
10th October. Luigi's Cafe, Abergavenny - C.J.A.C. meeting for Made in Roath. We will be 'Drawing a Line Round Roath' as part of our Roath Boundary Ramble on Wednesday 15th October. (http://roath-boundary-ramble.tumblr.com)

26 June 2014: Cashmore Johnson Art Collective meeting: The Sidney Nolan Trust, Presteigne
A catch up about our work and explorations at The Sidney Nolan Trust where we are on a MFA Residency, as well as talk about our current solo research, and individual practice. Planning to meet tomorrow evening in order to establish our upcoming Cashmore Johnson Art Collective presentation with regards to our Masters Programe and exhibition of collective work.
18th June - Site visit (Splott Beach) . Picnic. And weaving the deckchairs.
Remembering earlier decisions (for MFA show) - to make a postcard from Splott and to produce lettered rock (with postcard as label? and message in rock: with love from Splott/ A Day at Splott Beach/ with love from Jenny and Celia. Something like that anyway.)
So, Collective art practices now includes (along with air hockey and drinking tea in cafes), weaving, picnicking, afternoon naps (see further photos) and sunbathing.
