Should we put a flange on the box? A: Slot diffusers boxes have a flange (bent upwards, almost hemmed) on the long sides. The Truaire slots come with the C brackets that slip into the bent flages and lock in. The diffusers are secured by screwing through the slots into the C bracket. The holes are pre-drilled in the diffusers. A: You would need a metal plenum that converts the rectangular shape to round. The round outlet is typically on the side of the plenum (box) since the top is narrow.
