Even a part of herself knew she probably being a tad much. May could already tell she was probably going a tad over his head with all the rattling off of terminology he may or may not even know the meaning of. Was he even paying attention? May could be subtly quite sharp about this sort of thing, but this guy was apparently a hot shot lawyer, so even for her that was no sure bet. If what she heard about law school was any indication, Caster was probably on a whole other level. Well, probably why itâs all the better to go over rather than under, right?
Luckily, it seemed to work! Oh shit, this really must be something. âOh man, thanks so much Caster, uh, Mister Boss? Sir? I wonât let you down!â Nervous energy mixed with all the other kind as she bounced up, anticipation building as she internally prepares herself for the coming trial, ready t-
âŚor that could happen.
âOh.â Usually, far more would be coming out of her mouth. What the heck was this?! Some kind of test? A prank? Some kind of weird company (firm, she supposed) in-joke? Hazing of some sort? But no, she had to stay cool. No matter what, she couldnât let her buddy down. Eyeing it with importance, she solemnly takes the brushâŚas a fire blazing from the passionate depths of her soul illuminates her eyes!
âYOUâRE GOING DOWN, TOILETâŚDIRT!!âÂ
She attacks the incriminating lavatory with the precision and dedication of the most soaring etudes, not stopping until every bit of grime is wiped clean from this physical plane or at least scrubbed away, first depending, for she had not just the expectations of her friend and potential-employer behind her, but the burning desire to make sure she didnât pass up an opportunity to provide for herself/save expenses, her existing millions be damned.
Ah, Phoenix could feel it. That burning spirit of youth, willing to protect the good name of everything good and clean in the world. This is exactly the sort of attitude that society needs nowadays, so that it can be purified from the corruption running deep inside it, like a severe infection draining its forces away!!!
"May!" All of a sudden, he grabs her shoulder from behind, his stance rigid and tense. It might seem like he was about to berate her for something, but... "Congratulations. The job is yours."
Which, truth be told, he'd have given to her even if she were a total failure at this. It'd have been interesting to teach her the fine art of toilet cleaning, taught to him many years ago. Besides... there's still that other thing he's gotta discuss with her still.

âWell thatâs, uh, not super reassuring,â May was nothing if not forthright as a general rule. âBut hey, Iâm sure thereâs something we can do, right? I mean, we came here for a reason, so thereâs something we can accomplish here!â Though this arguably seemed as much a reassurance to both of them, she might not be wrong. After all, there at the very least seemed to be purpose to their administratorâs actions; it wasnât like just anyone was a Master or Servant!âŚyetâŚ
She sits and thinks for a minute. Nick wasnât wrong, his skills could be quite useful, potent even in the right circumstances, but not exactly lending themselves to crushing foes before them with impunity. Not that May was fight-happy at all, especially with the grim spectacle before them, but itâd be handy if they were capable of more than just defending themselvesâŚhmmâŚskillsâŚwaitâŚ
âHang on, Caster, I got it!â A flash of seeming inspiration shone in her already-usually-pretty-bright eyes. âYouâre a lawyer, so you must have picked up some stuff about crimes and investigations and mysteries or whatever. Maybe instead of just trying to beat them up, how âbout we try a lil recon? Sure, youâre no Assassin, and this isnât really a âcrime sceneâ per se, but maybe we could learn something about this whole shebang!â
Phoenix listened to May'a sudden verbose speech, a look of incredulity on his face. He's by no means unfamiliar with bizarre situations, be them inside or outside the Courtroom, however...
"...Are you serious, May?" A dubious eyebrow is raised on his face. "I-I mean, us? Figuring out the whydunnit for this dispute? While te war is happening around us?! That's simply insane!!"
At that outburst, the attorney gets so worked up that he stands up while shouting, making his position easily visible to anyone else around the area... including a light armor knight. A light armor knight that doesn't hesitate in lunging their big, shiny and sharp sword towards the duo.
Oops.
"FUUUUUUUUUDGE!!! M-May, we gotta run awaaaaaaay!!!"

They were getting smarter, which was a real pain. Ceshmera was only really dangerous in close range. she did have ranged attacks, but their effect was limited. This was what one got for specializing in on thing and one thing only. Oh well. It wasnât like she was a real fighter.
Th arrows had bothered Cesh enough that she wandered off. One was still stuck in her back, but she didnât seem to notice. The hardening of her clothing to match armor had kept it from going through, but it was still stuck in the bow of her dress. She had been stomping off in a huff when she was addressed by another Servant.
âIâve seen a lot of people,â she expressed, her sour mood never effecting her voice. âHowever, I donât remember their faces. Give me a better idea of what she was wearing and Iâll see if I can search her down by that.â
Not likely. She only really tracked her mistresses clothes. But, hey. She wasnât going to tell him that. It was would be a fun surprise where she led him down the wrong path. Cesh was not a very kind person.
"Eeeeerm..." (Poop, I've always sucked at describing fashion.) Phoenix scratches his cheek, trying to think of the best way to put it. "Last time I saw her, she was wearing a white shirt, a black jacket and black jeans pants. Oh, and she's likely carrying a guitar. May is always carrying one of those."
Truth be told, perhaps Phoenix shouldn't be so trusting of the stranger. This could very well be a hostile Servant who has some ability that allows her to track someone down with the reference of clothing or something. However, he'd like to believe that even those with the most twisted minds would see the futility of engaging in such acts in the middle of a battle like this one.

This wasnât a particularly ideal scenario for the guitarist at all. Sure, she had a couple new magic tricks up her sleeve, and she got a chance to put her self-defense skills to the test a month or two back with that virus outbreak, but that had been ultimately non-lethal self defense against unarmed opponents. In a warzone, with enemies at Servant level capabilities? Not a chance, buster.
Hence why she was quite content to take the opportunity to hide behind this nice big rock, thank you very much. She was, as usual, relatively optimistic about the Utopianâs chances, having seen some of her potential compatriots. They seemed pretty kickass!âŚnot them though. no offence Phoenix.
âDang, thatâs a pretty good question, Caster,â She ponders as she scratches her hair, reverting back to Nickâs class designation. Sure, her heart wasnât really in this whole secrecy deal back in the city, but out in a nasty situation like this, she was starting to get the point. âDonât suppose you know anymore about this stuff than I do? I mean, arenât lawyers supposed to be sorta well-read and stuff? Even for uhâŚlaw history things?â
Even through her rather reaching inquiry, her quick words were obviously following some thought of her own, judging by her finger-tapping-chin tic. It wasnât like they were given particularly much to go on either; this was a bit of a conundrum given their skillsets. âDonât suppose you have a kickass skill orâŚNoble Phantasm was it? That I donât know about yet and will help us out here?â
None taken. Phoenix is the first person to point out his own lack of badassery (although heâll appreciate if others donât point out that fact right on his face). He will take the opportunity to stretch and relax his muscles before they become sour, before replying to May.
âSorry to disappoint you, but my brain has already been cruelly filled with law info throughout my life. Thereâs just not enough space left to add details about what tricks to use when a bunch of medieval knights come after you.â
Heâd like to say that his experiences in Labyrinthia had given him an edge for this sort of predicament, but thatâd be a lie. As much of a buffoon that many members of the Order of Knights there were, at least they were still sentient enough that you could reason with, unlike the killing machines looking for them.
âAnd Iâve already told you all the skills Iâm capable of using. Ugh, my only my actually useful skills didnât have such obnoxious triggering conditions...â

  ââEvery day.â
  âEvery day you cycle down this road and for the last week your front tire has been completely flat. Do you really not notice it, or is your sense of balance so strong you feel no need to fix it?â
@casterofturnabout
â...Is it, now?â Phoenix stepped out of his bike and went to check the tire issue that the girl raised. Yup, sheâs totes correct. How come heâs not noticed it before? Back home, a flat tire would have quickly made his back suffer (and his wallet too, to get a new one).
Perhaps itâs due to his Servant body? âAhahaha, would you look at that! Youâre sure perceptive, miss.â

@Halfbilitate: Henshin! Turnabout! (Event)
@halfbilitate
The worst thing about the distortion weakening is that itâs now much harder for Phoenix to find safe spots for him to hide at. Before, he could enter into empty houses or old ruins, but now, itâs almost impossible to find one of those close by. That worsens his chances of survival considerably. If he doesnât find an ally soon, he and his Master might end up being killed.
Thereâs no way that thereâs nobody here willing to protect him, though. Câmon, he found so many friendly figures during the fragment fiasco! Wonât anyone feel in their heart to help a poor attorney like him?
...Perhaps that guy over there. Yeah, that one kicking the ass of a knight with some sort of wind spell, it seems. For some reason it feels like Phoenix knows what heâs seeing, despite having never witnessed such a feat before. Information from the GRAIL? He can ponder about that later. For now, heâll wait for this battle to end.

@tyrantofsinners
âLook, I know that youâre all excited for assaulting the castle- WHOA!!â It was just by a hairâs breadth that Phoenix avoided being impaled horribly by a thrown lance. âB-But consider! Thereâre plenty of us who are no match to how our enemies are now!â
(Damnit, is he even listening?!) It was sure hard to keep up with the other, thanks to Phoenixâs agility being only D. âW-What Iâm trying to saaaaay!!â And now an arrow. âI-Is that plenty of us want to g-get back to the city. But weâre not managing it by Triplicata!â
By sheer luck, this enemy that was about to slice Phoenix in half is brought down by a random ray from another Servant. âT-Thus, we need a bodyguard. Please, h-help us!â

@Tatterdemalixn: Escalation of Turnabout (Event)
@tatterdemalixn
Well, theyâre utterly screwed. Okay, maybe the overall Servant army still has good chances of victory, but for Phoenix, this new development has turned what was already a hard enough survival gambit into utter madness. So yeah, he is utterly screwed.
If they think that heâll join them into whatâd be a suicidal mission, however, theyâd better forget about it. Heâs just gonna locate May again and have the two of them return to Utopia and peace and tranquility. Yeah, that sounds good.
(Now where did she get...?) Seriously, Phoenix is glad that sheâs willing to search for evidence to help him, but now is not the time! Perhaps this other person heâs just spotted at the sidelines might help him.
âHey, did you see a young woman around here? White, black hair, green eyes, black jacket... any of that sounds familiar?â

Uzume was embarassed to admit it, yet she was in a bit of trouble. While she was safe for the time being, hiding behind a wall, she wanted to get away before it eventually crumbles away. However, a small group of enemies wandering nearby made things quite difficult, she was worried they would spot if she tried to run off.
So it called for a different tactic, finding backup. She sat down next to the wall, close enough to the edge so she could spot the couple of enemies behind it. Seeing as none of them had spotted her, she then shuffled along quietly, to the other side of the wall, all while searching for someone who didnât look like an enemy.
Surprisingly, she ends up finding another quite quickly, however⌠thinking about it a little, hadnât she seen this guy before? Thatâs right! That was the spiky haired guy who helped her before, or somewhat helped? Whatever, that wasnât important at the time. For now, she just needed to get his attention. A few small rocks were near the wall, she grabs one before chucking it right for his head, completely missing. Second attempt, she almost hits hit head. Third, not even close. Clearly, she was just about to lose her temper.
âHey! Old Man Spiky Hair! Are you blind or something?! Iâve been trying to get your attention for the past- oh.â With her prior attempts not working, she tried shouting, clearly not thinking her plan through very well, with a couple of enemies within a few metres of her discovering that she had been hiding there. Oops?
âWhat the-â Phoenix blinks as he watches a rock flying over him. Itâs no big rock thatâd make one shocked at the feat itself, but the fact that someone feels like doing so at this time of crisis is sure peculiar.
Oh well, might be just some debris from a fight afar. Nothing that the attorney would like to get involved too. Itâs already hard enough for him to be useful in battle at this scenario, where he doesnât even have an idea on where to focus to collect evidence... or whatâd qualify as âevidenceâ at all.
Heâd better just get back to hiding behind this boulder-
âHuh?! Wait, what-â Too late. His own confusion at Uzumeâs shouting made him become as clear as a torch at night for a group of enemies close by. (Oooooh, crap.) He rushes towards the girl, not yet processing her familiarity in behalf of focusing on running away as fast as he can from here, all while pulling her with him.

âA bomb!?â Johnny could feel the sweat running down his spine from such a predicament. Instinctively he dashed forth to get the man away from it before it would explode.Â
Grabbing the suit by the collar, Johnny pulled the two of them back, but with a single glance seeing the countdown hitting 00:00:00, the light blue explosion expanded quickly from the package.
The force of the explosion caused the two men to tumble a short bit against the hard concrete pavement, relatively unharmed getting away just in time from the dangerous part of the blast.
Lying on top of the business man, Johnny adjusted his tilted shades and hat. âYa alright, mister? Made any enemies for this kind of special delivery?âÂ
Phoenix barely had time to process what happened, as Johnny took him to the floor right before the explosion. Is this how Juniper felt when Apollo shielded her at that explosion back home? ...He has to say, he could live without this level of empathy experiencing.
"Ugh..." (Damn, this guy is heavy!) "Uhhh, not that I know of. At least not in Utopia, I mean." He knows a couple people that'd love blowing him to smithereens back home. He sure hopes that this is a sign that any of them has been brought here.

Ugh, of son of a freaking hell his backâŚ.That felt worse than the time he got gut-checked by a high ranked monster in the Reality Terrain. Rubbing where the contact point was, Banri slowly fell to a crouch and hissed a little.
âI-Iâll be fine, it least it wasnât from the front or that it wasnât a hit and run.â Still he was going to be sore for the next few hours to a day from that unintentional situation.Â
At the vision, Phoenix clicked his tongue in displeasure. How he wishes that he had healing abilities. It'd make helping this poor guy (and possibly his Master too) all the easier. ...Wait, doesn't May have a healing spell under her sleeve? Yeah, that's right. He could take this guy to her and she'll patch him anew! Brilliant!
"I can take you to a friend of mine if you want. She has healing magic. It's the least I can do to apologize for this." He smiles sheepishly.

âFair enough. I too get flabbergasted whenever I get an idea of what other sorts of folks ended up here. Even demons and aliens, can you believe it?!â Itâs like this place is a giant fairy tale book, or something.
âAnd Iâd be extremely grateful if you didnât call me that. Sure you Mr. Detective can see how badly that could be taken for several reasons, no?â Phoenix would list them out loud, but even the M rating has never made him fall into the depths of foul language like that.
casterofturnabout:
âA high schooler detective?â Phoenix whistled at that. Heâs seen lots of that type on TV and comics, but itâs the first time heâs seen one in real life. Although from Goroâs tone, heâs not exactly eager to seek a new case right now, which Phoenix can understand. If you donât depend of a job to survive, a break from it is always welcome.
Phoenixâd sure be glad if the other tipped on something he can take, though.
âAlso, itâs just Caster, no P involved. Unless you already know so many Casters you gotta catalogue them in alphabetical order, Iâd rather you remembered that.â
âItâs not too impressive, after you realize who else got dragged into this world.â Itâs a bit hard to trump the awe and amazement inspired by kings and heroes in ancient times, and this place already has them in bulk.
âOh, I thought that would have been an interesting nickname. How about Mr. P?â Sorry Phoenix, even outside of your series you would still be the victim of numerous jokes. âI jest. Caster, was it? Donât worry, I believe I should be able to take note of every Servant in the city on its own.â

âWait, donât approach! Didnât you just see it? Thereâre mines, visible mines at this area! A young one like you shouldnât get in the middle of this war like this!â
However, once Phoenix finished saying that, he noticed the peculiar mana signature emitting from her. A Servant, perhaps? Itâs certainly deceiving how so many Servants look like teenagers, especially among women. He wonders if thereâs a reason for the GRAIL to summon them like this.
(I hope it doesnât involve the sacrificed magesâ perverted minds playing up hereâŚ) âEr, I mean⌠How much is your Constitution?â
Currently, she was just observing the area, looking through some normal binoculars and sitting atop a tall rock. It definitely did appear like medieval times, no doubt about it. Though she was searching for something more than just proof of what time period this was representing. Her search was interrupted as a loud boom of one of the land mines she set up as a defense in the fifty foot radius around her.
âHuhâŚâ
Lame, she didnât even used the invisibility magic to hope that seeing them would ward off any unwanted visitors and let her conserve on mana. Though it makes sense for those of from this period of time to not know what those are. Oh well, just gotta replace it. Which, in order to save mana by not wasting it on the teleporting magic, was more of a manual process. Jumping off the rock and going to the place where the mine exploded and use the  item construction skill to recreate it.
A smirk couldnât help but spread on her lips when she spotted the corpse of the solider that was the previous mineâs victim. Then, she noticed another person nearby, this time not a dead solider, and gave a more awkward smile toward them.
âOh, uh⌠Hi, donât mind me.â

âBecause apparently the Terminal canât just keep things at a constant, pleasant temperature.â Was Phoenixâs response to the mysterious squeaky voice that arrived to his ears.
âŚSpeaking of which, who said that? He looks around, up and down - and something catches his eye. A creature small as a tack, yet distinguishably humanoid. âWhoa, there! Whoâre you?â
â Does it have to be so hot out today?! â heâs not complaining about the heat; heâs complaining because everyoneâs out walking and nearly killing him. local bug-sized boy needs help.

Itâs not the first time that Phoenix hits someone with his bike, and itâll likely not be the last one. The thing is, now his bike is a magically summoned construct ridden by a guy with superhuman properties, so such an impact miiiight be slightly less pleasant than expected.
Which seems to be the case for Banri, for his wig to come off like that. Not knowing the guy, Phoenix has no idea of how troublesome this is to the other, so he chooses to leave questions of why he was wearing a wig to another moment. Thereâre more pressing issues at the moment.
âA-Are you okay?!â He crouches down, hoping to help Banri to stand up. âDo you feel any broken spot or blood coming out?â
@casterofturnaboutâ
Banri cursed, this wasnât a sentence that was unusual in anyway- since it was something he was known for doing a lot unless he was in his âpersonaâ. Unfortunately for today his fellow âpartnerâ from home decided to wander off on his own and took his SR Card with him. Though there was one very prominent problem with him doing that, which was him turning to how he looked âbeforeâ.Â
It didnât help that the wig he managed to procure didnât match the light-toned red hair he was so used to have at all. Muttering about how much of an ass the Tower Arcana monster was, he didnât notice the oncoming bike til it was too late and they both collided.Â
âGAH- WHAT THE?!â (The force funnily enough also knocked his wig off, showing his blondish-brown hair)
