This little poem came to me in a moment when I was trying not to be anxious and all the trying was just making things worse, as it often does. I felt this change in perception. “What if I could just be the space where anxiety is happening?”

It’s a kind of surrender, really. And it can be incredibly liberating. Lately, when dealing with bad emotions, I often come back to this poem.

Eddie is that kind of guy that finds a rock and is like "Steve would SO love this."

Steve's always like "Another one?" acting annoyed and huffy when Eddie gives him another random rock but then still keeps all of the rocks Eddie gave him in one place and treasures them with his whole heart.

One day when Steve and Eddie finally move in together, they're moving boxes and Dustin's complaining loudly about this one box that was so freaking heavy he almost broke his back.

He asks "What's in there? Rocks!?" and Steve just shrugs and says "Yeah." Dustin doesn't believe him so he opens it and IT IS INDEED filled with rocks. All the kids are like ????? but Eddie's just tearing up as he looks at Steve, "You kept them all?" 🥹

begging queer kids to read up on princess diana’s involvement with the community. yes, she was a rich, pretty monarch. yes, she died young.

but the reason why queer people love her is because she used her privilege during the aids crisis to advocate for sick queer men, when very few others would - much less someone of her status.

diana spent years advocating for the health and care of queer people with hiv/aids. in 1987, at the height of the epidemic, she opened the first specialist clinic dedicated to treating aids patients (the first clinic of it’s kind in the uk).

she also fought public hysteria by hugging and shaking bare hands with aids patients, at a time when aids was thought to be spread by skin to skin contact. not only that, she visited patients in the clinic regularly and even comforted them through their sickness.

and when queen elizabeth told her to try focusing on “something more pleasant”?

diana ignored her and kept fighting.

and this is only her work towards the aids crisis. she publicly called out the royal family, brought attention to numerous world issues, and was known as an advocate for empathy and kindness. she’s known and loved as the people’s princess for good reason

no I don’t like it because there’s something INCREDIBLY dystopian about being forced to soften terms for basic parts of the human experience like death and sex (and even more so terms for oppressed minorities- call me a “le-dollar sign-bian” and I will bite you) purely because advertisers and corporations demand it

Surgeries and operations are being cancelled on the day of the queen’s funeral. These patients will have been on a waiting list for months if not years.

Everyone should be absolutely seething with rage.
