The giant Cawl Body is treated like a mini-mech, with one of the Tech-Priests crawling inside and piloting it.
honestly, it sounds like another way to make Cawl workable would be if it turned out Cawl was about a team of 50 or so techpriests who realised their lives would be far easier if they were all filing their paperwork under a single name.
That would legitimately make him far more interesting, yes

How the Mad Wolves 6th handle Rebelling Hive Cities
They start out by gaining access to the city anyway they possibly can, from grav-chuting in from extremely high altitude to entering through ancient tunnels that had been discovered by the Nuts and Bolts.
They target people of power among the population, stalking them and observing them for days to weeks, collecting information and plotting out how to ambush them at the best time to assassinate their targets.
They send out Sabotage teams to begin striking food supplies, water sources, power supplies, and other requirements with everything from poisons that are mild enough to just give the effected stomach problems to explosive charges that destroy the target entirely.
The Stalkers strike their targets when the sabotage teams begin their work, killing them and stealing the bodies while leaving behind insignias from enemies of that individuals House/Gang/Organization/etc to instigate conflict between groups.
They will start spreading rumors about the Nobles/Gangers/etc hoarding food/water/medicine/etc among the civilian populace and begin to work to get riots going among the people of the Hive.
While the city burns behind them they'll start assassinating the PDF Officers/Sabotaging defensive items/ and just generally paving the way for others to breach the wall and put down the riots and civil wars they started among the various factions in the city.
(Optional) pull any still loyal Imperial Forces out of the Hive City.

John's reasons for the Bounty Board and Bounty Offers
"It's easier to pay and bribe folks to handle shit for us then actually doing that shit ourselves in regards to some of those bounties... otherwise I'm doing it because it's easier to toss some coins at Bounty Hunters so no one wonders how or why the Mad Wolves have ships that 'volunteered' to serve us."

Additional Bounties Noted:
Samael, 'The Charred Soul', twenty five thousand thrones for confirmation of death. Bounty is paid out by Jane Geist, Samael being a former member of her personal forces among the Sixth Section before turning his flamer on Mad Wolves Supplies and fleeing as the Outpost tried to put out the fire before they were forced to retreat back to the main camp.
False Wolf, two million thrones for confirmation of death, unknown Xeno Lifeform that killed several Mad Wolves and took their flesh as it's own in an attempt to reach the Council of the Mad Wolves, it's first and last attempt before fleeing at replacing a member of the Wolves Council was the leader of the fourth section, who managed to inject the creature with a lethal dose of a experimental combat drug mixture. Unknown if still alive or deceased, payout will remain at two million if it is confirmed deceased from the drug.
'Wulfbreka', A Ork Warboss who has fought the Mad Wolves time and time again and left broken bodies of fallen Mad Wolves in it's tracks, John Geist has authorized up to three hundred thrones to be payed out beforehand per individual taking the Bounty due to the target's tendency to flee at the first chance of being overwhelmed in combat. The full payment is up to eight hundred thousand thrones, more if any members of the Hunters are injured or killed taking the Ork down permanently.
Four thousand Thrones for any Blades returned to the Mad Wolves from fallen members of their Regiment, two thousand for any that are affected by Daemonic energies.
Updated Bounty List of the Mad Wolves
General Avries Johann IV, A Former Imperial Guard General that had went rogue during a mission with the Wolves, John is willing to shell out sixty thousand thrones for the man's death and confirmation of it.
Terarenn, A Drukhari Raider that has earned her places on the Bounty Board of the Mad Wolves, she slaughtered her way through several veteran Squads and a payout of up to two hundred thousand thrones or the equivalent in 'gently used' equipment in exchange for her capture and delivery to the Wolves, up to one hundred thousand thrones in exchange for confirmation of her death.
Teng Shacke, A member of the Alpha Legion that had approached the Wolves as a representative of the Blood Angels to get them to attack a position long enough for him to either smuggle something in or smuggle something out, fifty thousand for confirmation of his death, three hundred thousand for capture and delivery to the Sixth.
Eighty thousand Thrones in exchange for the slaughter of several Death World species (Not Catachan related).
Erik Ranaldson, HIGHEST BOUNTY, Former Mad Wolf who kidnapped several members of the 6th Section before turning to Chaos with highly classified intelligence. Nine hundred thousand Thrones or one hundred full suits of Astartes grade power armor with Geneseed Organs. (Geneseed kept under the Watchful eye of the Nuts and Bolts Society heads Tiv and Riv, Harvested only after confirmed death of every member of the Chapter).
Taron 'Backbiter', Former Auxilary Beastman who has gone rogue and begun attacking civilians. Five thousand thrones for confirmation of death.

What would be amusing is if Erda wanted them to have a umbilical feeding them while Big E wanted them to just absorb all the nutrients through their skin.
But Malcador came in and just made it giant tanks full of Jell-O that the Primarchs would eat their way out of... he just forgot not to put the coloring in Magnus's tank which turned him cherry flavored.
Do primarchs have belly buttons?
It’s never explicitly stated. You could argue no, because they’re test tube babies. You could also argue yes, because E+E wanted an efficient physical point to supply them with nutrition. You could also argue no again, because maybe he figured out a different, more esoteric process for nourishing them. You could go back and forth on it for a lot of reasons, really.

Marcus cursed the infirmity that age had brought upon him, the old man essentially chained to his bed as he could hear the echoes of battle and the bellows of traitorous madmen, the old Knight wishing that he could rise from his bed and take up arms to spare his people the bloodshed and butchery they were being forced to face like he had done for so many years before this.
He knew his sons and daughters were all either dead or Traitors, the old Knight having nearly exhausted himself by taking the dagger from one of his daughters that had gone to stab him and turning it back on the girl, her body still collapsed across his legs and the blood that had flown from the wound he had given her long gone cold.
"Oh... I'm sorry my people... if only I had...one more life to give for you..." and with those final words, the Old Knight, the former Master of the House passes from the world with a sigh that seemed to tear it's way free of his throat as his body falls still.

Another quiz for if you were a fictional character how would your fandom treat you (if you think your life is too boring to have a fandom just think of yourself as living the domestic!au of some sci-fi or fantasy)

Pertuabo would either love it because it'd be a interesting mathematical problem for him to work out how to escape or he'd just start smashing down the walls after awhile because the math dosen't make sense.
Pick a primarch to send to the backrooms
Perturabo, because I'd want to see him dealing with it in the most unimpressed, frustrated way possible

Crack: John gifts people Paintings
"I don't know why so many people are dying after I give them one of my paintings..."
"You haven't been giving them the deathworld paintings...right?"
"Yeah actually, they liked those the best and I wanted them to enjoy the beautiful vista's I painted."
"Boss, those paintings were still lethal weren't they?"
"Oh...OH! I've... oh Frak, my paintings are killer... looks like I can supplement the Wolves income again."
"What? No, you can't steal and sell the paintings."
"By the Emperor's shitty parenting skills, I wasn't going to steal the things... I was going to reclaim them without asking before the Arbites discovered the paintings lethal effects."

John's Secret Hobby
John sat at the table, a paint brush held tightly in two fingers as he looked at the small tea cup he was painting details on, Firebug never knowing exactly how her 'Papa' kept finding all of these neat fire related doll toys.

Imperial Fists and World Eaters, slow and structured advances followed by constructing fortifications to grind the enemy against vs the mess that the World Eaters tactics is.
I maintain that Perturabo's "alternative version" shouldn't be Dorn. His real alt should be Guilliman. They both see everything as statistics, they both get a lot of the shit jobs, they both have way too much responsibility and hold to a weird mix of pragmatism and independence. They're also both super depressed.
I agree with this a lot, actually. I also think the IWs and the UMs have just as much, if not more of a shifted resemblance to each other than the Iron Boys and the Fists.

John as a Prime Soul: Ultrakill
Breaking free of the Flesh Prison: "My Wolves... they call to me."
Meeting V1: "So you are the Machine born of Man that has decided to gorge yourself upon the dead? I can sense the blood of Sisphyus and Minos on your hands machine, for those who you have slain and those that I shall protect against you, come at me!"
1st Move: "ALL GUNS, FIRE!" Artillery starts striking the arena randomly, sending out Shockwaves you need to jump.
2nd Move: "THE TIME HAS COME!" John rushes forward and begins to spin himself rapidly with his blades.
3rd Move: "BE BROKEN!" John grabs V1 and throws him to one side of the arena as Artillery strikes it, sending shockwaves out.
Dodged: "Come little mechanical Pup, show me that Fury that let you kill Lord Sisphyus and King Minos, or were they just flukes?!"
Damaged: "Ha! Good strike Machine, but I shall pay you back ten fold!"
Respawn: "Another Round then, Machine?"
Death Speech: "You killed me then? Heh, Heaven is damned just as Hell was... now, BE SHATTERED!" Artillery starts striking the Arena rapidly, the arena starting to break as John's soul slowly floats up and begins to explode, the man laughing madly as he bellows "THE NEXT HUNT IS ON MY WOLVES! THE HUNT SHALL NEVER END!"

He swiftly rises through the ranks to Chapter Master because he is the only Lamenter who dosen't suffer some horrid twist of fate, seemingly avoiding catastrophe after catastrophe and guiding the Chapter to the point he forgets his whole mission because trying to keep the Lamenters from dying is a full time job.

Forgotten Graves
John ran a hand across the rotten wood that made up the coffins that had been discovered in this small cave, a tattered Sixth Section Standard still limply waving over remains of forgotten Mad Wolves, the man uncaring of the wood seeming to turn to dust at his touch.
"Get recovery teams down here now... we are going to bring our brothers and sisters home, and I'll lay to rest some of my wayward children." John said quietly into his Vox, the man leaving the cave and beginning to cut down any nearby trees, in some vain hope of giving the dead proper coffins that hadn't been left to rot for who knows how long before they could be brought home.
