What we know about the upcoming Green Arrow run by Chris Condon and Montos, from interviews with Condon on the Ideas Don’t Bleed and Sheehan Is Dead Comics podcasts:

- Condon grew up reading GL/GA, mentions loving JLU’s take on Ollie. Kin Shriner’s voice is the one he hears when writing him

- wants to go back down to street level, deal with real world problems, “he’s a lefty asshole, that’s who he is to me.”

- aims to harken back to Denny O’Neil’s, Mike Grell’s, Mike W. Barr’s Green Arrow because Ollie “hasn’t been that way in a minute.”

- has read all the way back to Jack Kirby's Silver Age stories, even mentions reading Ollie's Bronze Age backups in Tec. The legacy and history of previous runs are important to him

- says the run is similar in tone to his indie comic with Jacob Phillips, That Texas Blood vol. 3, as well as Mike Grell’s GA run – “very much the vibe of what we’re doing.”

- also specifically mentions the Mike W. Barr, Trevor von Eeden and Dick Giordano GA 1983 miniseries as an influence (minor spoilers for the upcoming run under the cut)—

—which shares a direct connection to Condon and Montos’ run, and is an “integral part” of the story.

I've been trying to stay cautiously optimistic about this run, but ngl I'm completely sold. Between these interviews and reading That Texas Blood (an incredible series in its own right that I can't recommend enough), I think Ollie's in very good hands.
