Didn’t get too much done today, but I’m wading deeper into the waters of Pokemon blogs. I have started the new blog though, but it’s not nearly ready so it’ll sit as a dash-only thing and a major wip for the time being.

I have asks and replies across several blogs, so if you don’t see me here, I may just be somewhere else! Gn!

I just would like to say… that because of all of YOU, I am considering a third, full sized OC Pokemon blog. I have been having a lot of fun here, and I just want to thank everyone for that!!

[Examine! An old notebook from the time of Galactic with familiar handwriting.]

Examine!

You find it sitting atop an old file cabinet—left there in haste or perhaps forgotten entirely—with its covers parted to reveal the contents within.

Though inanimate, it beckons you, tempting you with yet-to-be-known contents as though looking for a new reader to partake in the information diligently written upon its worn pages, and while clearly aged from time and use, the handwriting is startlingly familiar.

Giving into the temptation, you take a look at the left page and soon realize that this notebook is from the time of Galactic and that fills you with an indiscernible emotion…

You decide to read the notebook because having already taken a glance at the page, your curiosity grabs hold and you simply must know.

Seeing as he had finally been allowed to take a break, Shinjirou--after a short check in with the Doctor--had taken a walk away from the clinic to give himself his usual breather before he would then make his way towards the spot he went to for lunch. However, while on this leisure breather--a silly thing he'd coined a year ago--the unmistakable voice of the one person he thought he'd never see again caused everything within him to freeze with shock.

Ma--Cyrus.

It was Cyrus, he reminded himself as he forced his body to turn back towards he sound--to the man who stood some distance away, a man who was his Master no longer.

Deep blue eyes stared, openly, scarcely breathing as he stood there, not sure what to do with himself as his mind reminded him over and over and over as to who, exactly, it was, standing just a ways away.

Cyrus. It was Cyrus. Cyrus was alive? Cyrus. He was alive? He was back? When? How? Did anyone know? Cyrus. How did he--how did he know ... he was here? When--did he return? How?

"Cyrus," Saturn uttered, voice barely above a whisper.

If--he spoke back, this was real. He hadn't fallen asleep at work. He was on his break. He'd only just left a bit ago. If he spoke back, this was real.

Wh--what had he said? He'd said ... something.

You've done well.

Something with Shinjirou's heart clenched at that--at that ... compliment? Praise? Though, he couldn't deny it, himself. He was doing well. The Doctor had said as much, and while those words had moved him, to hear it from Cyrus was ... it was just ... different--a stronger feeling...

And right now, he couldn't be certain if that was a good or bad thing.

"H--how long ... have you been here?"

I've added a verse where Shinjirou can be encountered before he joins up with Galactic where he works as an assistant to a Doctor at a clinic and I have also adjusted his epilogue verse to where he is serving both people and pokemon as a Doctor's assistant since a lot of lives were lost even though he wasn't actively taking lives left and right.

I think this is a much better personal penance for him rather than researching new energy for Sinnoh--though he still does think about it from time to time.

I think I'm going to go ahead and make some icons for Saturn's Post-Alt / Good verse, as well! He's happier there and healing, too, if slowly.

Straightened up at the sight of Cyrus, but it was such a nice bottle...

Not everybody enjoys running their blog this way and that's a-okay. How long had it been since he'd heard the sound of Master Cyrus's voice--and not just as a memory or in his dreams?

The Red Chain...

It was what had allowed Master Cyrus to take hold of both legendary Pokémon Palkia and Dialga. The first order of business in resuming their operations was, of course, to bring the Red Chain back into existence again, and it wasn't as though it was a new thought for Saturn, himself. It was, indeed, the first step, but an obvious one, too. However, it was not a decision for Saturn to make.

"Underground. Seventy-five percent."

They had lost a good portion of their forces due to the combination of the International Police as well as the Sinnoh Police Force effort into rounding up as many of them as they were able, but they hadn't succeeded in arresting all of them. His first order of business as the Acting Boss was to take stock of the remnants of the Grunts and then verify that all the information currently within his possession was original, true, and current. Remaining finances had been even easier to deal with.

The fingers holding onto the cellphone gripped it tightly, eyes widening in surprise as the sound reverberated in his head. There was but one person who could pull such a reaction just from echoing his title-- He was alive--not that there had ever been any doubt. He had said as much to Cyrus' loyal followers after all, and Saturn? He had been completely unable to shake the feeling. Keeping his ear pressed close, he listened to every word carefully. His calm had been shaken--his fingers were near white from the pressure on the device, but his response was smooth. "Yes, of course. I will give you whatever you require."

The voice on the other side was at deep and steady as it'd always been. As if years hadn't passed since he'd disappeared from reality.

"We need to build a new Chain."

He kept it simple and to the point, vague so that someone overhearing him might not pick up on the gravity of the situation. It was hard not to assume, though, when he sounded so grave about it all.

"... Where are you located? Don't be specific. How many of us remain?"

Something like this was hard to believe off sound alone- maybe Saturn had finally lost it.

came across beta!saturn the other day and doodled him.

this is pretty cute - probably gonna make a verse out of it since there can be so many realities and alternate realities in Pokémon.

As I continue to write Saturn from the standpoint of the gameverse only, I am really beginning to feel that while he is a Villain, he is a redeemable one. He had his life before Team Galactic, I'm positive of that, but he allowed himself to believe Cyrus's words--was fascinated and solely apart of it at all just to see what Cyrus would do--what sort of World he would create (with a fascination so strong that he joined a villainous organization, there is no question that he was pretty much all-in in his support) HOWEVER, as we later see in the games, when he has all the pieces laid out in front of him and it's all over (he knows and understands everything, now), he rejects the idea of a World without Spirit--of total annihilation of the world that he knows.

Perhaps Mars is the one at the forefront of being the most redeemable, Saturn, too, deserves to have a stake in that, and while I'm not trying to change anyone's mind, I just had to get these thoughts out since I'm also replaying Pokemon Platinum.

Snowtop the Snorunt

Never used, but there since the Beginning is a Pokemon that might as well not exist, but he is apart of Saturn’s team regardless. It is a Pokemon that is not often allowed out of its Pokeball, even, and yet, it plays a vital role in keeping Saturn together.

The Pokemon in question? Snorunt. And its name? Snowtop because it always has a little snow on top its head.

It is a representation of Saturn in that due to him not growing up properly as a child, Snorunt is destined to never evolve.

I found something interesting in the Saturn Tag—gosh, what a … place, that tag—so I made some art for it, but I’m not at home, so I will be posting that to this blog later.

You know, I kind of almost want to make a verse for it, too, since Pokemon has a thing for messing around with Alternate Realities and Space and Time…
