Ι think that the beauty of Sansa's character lies on the fact that Cersei and Littlefinger tried to teach her their cynic and pessimistic view of the world but she didn't accept it. She still believes in kindness and she's gonna grow up to be the antithesis of those two characters ( she already is) and that's beautiful.

music au. cersei is a washed up former pop idol. margaery is the new face of pop. dany’s contract has finally ended and she pivots to acoustic and/or punk. the starks are a novelty family band like the trapp family but sansa wants to do acoustic singer songwriter and arya wants to do heavy metal and robb is battling the troy bolton dilemma of music or sports. theon is the westeros equivalent of drain gang. tyrion is in a ska band.

robert baratheon's small council was hysterical actually:
• old ass father figure
• boybestfriend's wife's weird incel friend
• lannister boot licker maester
• the most influential spy in the world who definitely cannot be trusted
• hated repressed younger brother
• hedonistic teenage gay brother as master of laws (??)
• secret targaryen loyalist

princess saera targaryen, from a fresco in the sept of a motherhouse in king’s landing, commemorating an endowment by queen alysanne and daughters, c. 83 AC
my gorgeous commission by @shripscapi! take a peek under the cut for the historical references she reworked so beautifully.

i have always maintained targaryen fashion should be byzantine inspired, and that was my request to liesl. she works so brilliantly with historical costuming, and in her portraits of renaissance fashions captures the sense of a contemporary portrait - and that’s what i wanted here, the spirit of a real historical work of art. i sent her two images of mosaics of byzantine empresses, theodora from the basilica of san vitale in ravenna (left) and irene of hugary from the hagia sophia in constantinople (right). both commemorate donations to churches, and the foundation of a religious institution at the height of the realm’s prosperity under jaehaerys and alysanne’s rule and a demonstration of good will between crown and faith after the adoption of the doctrine of exceptionalism is something alysanne as queen consort absolutely might do.
as byzantine empresses reshaped the face of imperial constantinople as patrons of its religious and civic architecture, it is fun to imagine the continuing interactions of the targaryens shaping their capital city. the women are included in wider family groupings - imagine alysanne and alyssa and maegelle etc offscreen - communicating the female face of imperial/royal power. here is saera at 16, on the verge of being brutally discarded as incommensurate with that correct feminine image, as indeed not a few byzantine princesses were. exactly the vibe of a lovely and haunting historical document of a woman’s life in the snare of power i’ve encountered in many a museum or palace that i was going for, which makes the story of saera’s disgrace resonate so strongly.

A Game of Thrones
(...) and Sansa… Sansa is your sister. You may be as different as the sun and the moon, but the same blood flows through both your hearts. You need her, as she needs you…

no, alicent doesn't have a favorite child, yes of course it's aegon (her first son and her last, the child that looks the most like her, a broken child to match his broken mother, the one who could never be good enough for anyone, not even his mother, just as his mother never could either, her mirror image, her narrative foil, her doom, her salvation, her baby, her king, The king to match The queen (her, not her daughter - though she married him to her daughter, who is a broken mirror of her; a dutiful wife), they're partners, and yet they're always devided, and yet it's always about them. and though she loves the bones of him, she doomed him all the same, when she gave birth to him, when she made him king, she killed him and he walked towards his death, towards his mother, towards his queen, when they finally crown him. 'a new king, to lead us' his grandsire says and he looks at his mother, and it's all about her, and she's dooming them both, but she has to. if she doesn't make him king he'll die, if she does make him king he'll die. so how could she ever love him? the product of all her pain and suffering? he's pathetic, undignified, an utter disappointment, of course she doesn- and then comes the dragon, and just as he's about to pull out his sword, to protect her, because though she doesn't love him, he loves her, she pushes him behind her, stands in front of a dragon for him, using her body to shield him, that same body she used to give birth to him, and he knows now that she does loves him, though she never told him, though he questioned it himself, he knows now, and he'll try to do better, expect no he won't because he can't, it'll only get worse from here, they'll both get worse from here, they'll lose and lose and lose until there's nothing left but rot in their bones and they'll die with it in their system. you told me this was a ghost story, it's not, it's a love story, same thing really, all of it happened because of love, monstrous love that makes monsters of us all, but love all the same)

If the world was just we would get theatrical productions that focus specifically on. like. spin-offs of the main story. three act self-contained gothic morality play about petyr and sansa in the eyrie. picaresque buddy-cop dramedy of brienne and podrick in the riverlands battling monsters and befriending outlaws. absurdist rosencrantz-and-guildenstern-are-dead-esque story about what grenn and pyp were doing while jon was lord commander. a five act breakdown of whatever melisandre and selyse and stannis and davos have going on between them pre-ACOCK. winterfell snowed-in murder mystery!!!
musical burlesque comedy of arya in braavos (the urchin of venice) as she befriends thieves and dockside courtesans and swordfighting bravos. faceless man comedic subplot as they hatch their latest plan to assassinate the sealord's useless failson because someone paid the faceless men their entire bloodline as coin for the bargain but everytime they try to kill the failson they slips up and he keeps getting away somehow. and there's a play-within-a-play as a scene takes place in phario forel's theater.
of course we'll always have ao3 but i want it to exist in the real physical world
