I’ve always wanted to recreate will’s iconic painting!! Nothing will ever compare the the original, of course… but I still enjoyed messing with the colors and other details and giving up on technique :D in fact, I ended up making the dragon a lot more huggable then initially planned, but who’s to say they’re the enemy? In this universe, the party is just makin a new friend :))

my take on modern will byers is that i don’t think he would be a music snob/music purist in that he refuses to listen to pop or makes fun of it or whatever but i DO think he is a Spotify Wrapped Curator and turns on a private session every time he listens to something remotely “embarrassing.” which is why, when will proudly displays his top five artists and top five songs at the end of the year, el is very confused as to how she heard jenny by studio killers playing in his room for 72 hours straight without it showing up on his end of year stats.

Friendly reminder that Mikes monologue to El in season 4 directly contradicts his monologue to Will in season 2

"my life started that day I found you in the woods" - directed at El in a confession that feels rushed and fake and referring to a situation that he calls 'dumb luck'

"it was the best thing I've ever done" - directed at Will and referring to they're friendship and more specifically a situation that happened because he made the choice to approach Will

Mike has lost both Will and El for an entire season. In season 1 when he lost Will he went feral and spent the entire season doing anything he could to find him. In season 2 when he lost El he went feral because Will was in danger and spent the entire season by his side doing everything he could to help him. There’s your endgame right there.

Mike literally had to explain to El what a friend was. Doesn't it make equal sense that he had to explain to her what a boyfriend was?

And what, exactly, did 13 year old Mike Wheeler think a boyfriend was? Did he maybe think it was someone like Steve? Who would sneak over to his girlfriend's house to make out with her all the time?

Was the only example Mike had of how to date pre-redemption arc Steve Harrington?

And if that's true, then what did El think her role as a girlfriend was? What did Mike tell her it was? And is that why they have both been swirling into something miserable ever since the Snow Ball? Their relationship was a success based on what Mike thought defined a romantic relationship?

Maybe that's why El referred to Mike as her first boyfriend. Because maybe to Mike, you date someone until you like someone else. You break up and you move on. Like Nancy did.

What other example did Mike have?

How was El to know any different?

They're just two kids trying to define themselves based on what they've seen and been told. El learned from Max that she can make her own rules. Now Mike needs to learn that he can define himself.
