Humanity's Hope Movieverse (Updated)

!WARNING: SEMI-SPOLERS TO THE THIRD SONIC FILM AHEAD!

So it's fnally here! The third Sonic film! And you know what that means? It means that I should update the Movieverse version since the previous one was outdated.

So without further ado, here is the brand new version of the plot.

The plot.

On Mobius, two species lived in harmony, the Owls and the Echidnas. The thing that they both had in common was that they both guarded the Master Emerald. They weren't the only species on the planet either, as it was also home to two hedgehogs, Sonic and Shadow. Nobody knew where they came from, or how they ended up on Mobius, but they we're apart of their group regardless.

Another thing that they had in common was that they we're all fascinated by a large murial of sorts known as the "Angel of Light", depicting a young blonde girl wearing a blue outfit and sporting angel wings. For years the inhabatants wondered what this murial meant, or why it was even here. Eventually, they would find out, but not in the way that they thought.

One day, Shadow was getting bored of Mobius, he wanted to see new things than just his planet, so he took one of Lionclaw's rings and created a portal to god knows where. It turns out that the planet he went to was Earth itself, and it wasn't a safe arrival in the slightest.

He had crash landed on the planet hard, knocking him out, and attracting the attention of GUN, who brought his unconsious body to a top-secret research facility.

When Shadow awoke, he saw that he was in a green tube. He soon learned that they were conducting tests on him, and that they feared him too. It was nothing painful, but he felt really depressed about it. Well, until he met her...

Shadow was back in his tube at usual, until he heard footsteps aproaching him. Turning around, he saw a new face.. one who looked exactly like one on the mural! The one and only Maria Robotnik of course. She drew a silly bunny face on him at first. But then placed her hand on the glass, Shadow slowly followed, placing his hand where her's was.

Shadow and Maria would then become good friends and hang out with each other. To Shadow, Maria was different from the rest. She clearly wasn't afraid of him unlike the others, and she truly valued him as a friend.

Pachacamac's daughter Tikal (Who is alive and well in this universe) suddenly came out of a ring, wondering where Shadow was since he was gone for a while. But her attention then shifted to Maria, causing her to have the same first thought that Shadow had about her.

If she really was the rumored "Angel of Light" that the mural portrayed, then it wouldn't hurt to see if it was true or not. So Tikal took them both back to Mobius.

Pachacamac would present Maria with a wand that had been located near the murial. (Powered by a light blue Chaos Emerald instead of an emerald shard here) To everyone's shock, the wand reacted to Maria and transformed her into a Magical Girl. The rumor was true after all!

Lionclaw offered to train the young girl and see what kind of powers she gained in her new form, they were all light-based, no suprise there.

All was well until mysterious robots appeared out of nowhere and tried to take the Master Emerald. The Owls and Echidnas would try to defend it, but they failed, as a last dich effort, the Owls would hide the Master Emerald in an underwater temple somewhere in Hawaii. Despite of this, the robots would wipe them out, before Lionclaw would meet her end however, she summoned a ring portal back to Earth, and gave Maria her bag of rings, instructing her to protect her planet, and never let the Master Emerald fall into the wrong hands.

What follows is Maria, Tikal, Sonic, and Shadow being sent to Earth a few years into the future, and similar events of the Sonic movies taking place in the future as well. (With a few differences of course)

Why did Lionclaw tell Maria to protect her planet? Because the inhabitants also sensed a great danger that would try to enslave the universe. Though, when this would happen was unknown, until now.

And thats the updated plot.

Obviously the other Magical Girls seen in the OG AU will be present in this one, with movie-inspired twists. (Like Sara being from another planet, and Elise being a normal teen rather than a princess.)

And Eggette will be present too, taking a simillar role to Knuckles in the AU's version of the second Sonic film (Though, she doesn't swich sides unlike Knuckles of course)

And the third film's events in this universe will feature a Movieverse version of Sage, who sides with Maria and the other Magical Girls to fight Eggman, as well as a strange girl who has a similar appearance to Maria, I wonder who she is?

And of course, if you want to ask me things about the AU, you can always do that.

Humanity's Hope AU: Beginnings

(Note: This is not the full timeline, just the start of the main events. If you're really interested in hearing what happens before all of this, the whole Knuckles Clan backstory is basically the exact same here, the only exception being that Tikal actually managed to calm down Chaos before sealing him into the emerald.)

In the modern day, a nefarious scientist named Dr. Ivo Robotnik traveled to the neighbouring islands in search of the Chaos Emeralds and Master Emerald. Using the information he had from his grandfather's diary, he began his hunt on Angel Island, since that was where the fabled Master Emerald was. Once he got there, he was confronted by Knuckles, but Knuckles was no match for Eggman.

After defeating Knuckles, Eggman tried to steal the Emerald, but during the attempt, he accidentally dropped it, causing the Master Emerald to break. Eggman would then hastly pick up the peices and get out of there.

The broken Master Emerald released Tikal and Chaos and they both came up with a plan to defeat the evil mad scientist. Based on an old mural in Angel Island known as "The Angel From The Stars", they used the emerald shards left on the ground to create seven magical wands that could transform a young girl into one with incredible magic powers.

With the wands now complete, Tikal set off across time to find people to use them.

50 years ago aboard the Space Colony ARK, there lived a blonde-haired girl by the name of Maria Robotnik, she always wanted to visit Earth, but she suffered from a fatal desease known as Neuro-Immune Deficiency Syndrome, rendering her to be stuck on the ARK until the scientists could find a cure for her, but sadly a cure didn't seem likely at all.

Maria was living her usual life on the ARK until she was visited by a strange glowing orb that would manifest into Tikal. Feeling a strong spirit and kind heart within the young girl. Tikal told Maria that she needed her help, saying that a threat will arrive in the future and take over the earth, and presents her with the magical wand. Maria immediately accepts Tikal's help to stop this threat, but states that her illness will put a wrench into it. But Tikal also had a plan for that too.

She visited Gerald Robotnik, and told him that she could help him with his project. Together, they created Shadow The Hedgehog. While Gerald was a little unnerved with how he looked, Tikal and Maria thought he looked fine. Gerald wanted to use Shadow as a way to cure Maria, but Tikal also wanted Shadow to be a companion for Maria as well.

Shadow and Maria would not only play together on the ARK, but he and Tikal would also teach Maria on how to use her newfound powers to prepare for the day she goes to earth. They would also use Shadow's blood to try and fully cure her as well. As for Gerald, he orignally didn't know about Maria's newfound magical girl status, but he would find out later on.

Eventually, G.U.N decided to shut down the ARK and try to "silence" the researchers involved with Project Shadow. Because of this, Tikal sent Maria to Earth early, 50 years into the future to be exact. The last person to briefly see her before her "disappearance" was a G.U.N Solider known as Mr. Schmitz.

The place that Maria wound up in was South Island, and she was happy to find out that Shadow's blood successfuly managed to cure her illness. Meanwhile, Tikal tried to convince G.U.N to return Shadow to her, it was tricky, but she managed to get him back. With Shadow and Maria back together again, Tikal said her goodbyes and presumably returned to Chaos at the Chao Garden.

And that concludes the beginning of the Humanity's Hope timeline, shortly before this AU's events of Sonic 1. There probably was more info/stuff I could've added, but I'm happy with what I wrote down here.

Looking for someone to help create the magical girl designs for the Humanity's Hope AU.

So I just realized something... I don't have proper reference sheets for the seven (technically eight if you count Eggette) magical girls! I'm not an artist at all, but I do definitely need some reference sheets for this AU.

So uh, yeah, does anyone wanna help me out with creating them? Perhaps maybe we could also include their normal/civillian looks and their respected companions alongside them as well. (It's not nessisary though, if you don't want to do that it's fine.)

I'll admit, I don't really have a proper idea as to what their magical girl forms would look like. (Making Magical Girl outfits are hard) But we can think of something.

So yeah, you can DM me if your interested in doing that.

Humanity's Hope D-Sides concept.

Hey everyone! So one day while I was looking at fanmade FNF D-Sides stuff, I had the thought to do a D-Sides version of the Humanity's Hope AU for fun. (Some links for those unaware of what the AU is)

It was pretty hard to do this concept, since Maria is the main villain in D-Sides Sonic. But I had an idea on how I could make it work while still somewhat following D-Sides Sonic's lore.

Here it is:

"Years ago on a space station known as the Space Colony ARK. There lived a young girl named Maria Robotnik and her cousin Ivo Robotnik. Their grandfather, Gerald Robotnik, had suddenly dissapeared one day, leaving them all alone by themselves.

One day, Maria was wandering around the ARK and came across Gerald's lab, curious, Maria checked around the place to see what he had built before his dissapearence. One of the inventions would catch her attention, some sort of platform with a keypad and a power switch. Turning it on, she fiddled around with it, accidently hitting a button and getting zapped, knocking her out cold.

When she awoke, she found herself lying on the ground, and face to face with a purple hedgehog, kneeling down and looking at her. This was Sonic The Hedgehog, the guardian of the Master Emerald. Something that Maria saw behind him, it was a georgious-looking gem. But Maria noticed something... strange, about it.

While Sonic was confused, Maria could swear that she was hearing a faint voice calling out to her from within the emerald, and so she placed her hand onto it. This action caused lots of energy from the Master Emerald to flow within her, causing her to collapse.

Getting back up on her feet, Maria wasn't even sure what happened. Unsure what else to do, Maria set off to explore her surroundings.

Eventually Maria would find some sort of camp run by two robots with (fake) mustashes named Prisbot and Cylbot. It was there where someone would suddenly greet her, the spirit of an echidna girl named Tikal.

Tikal would tell her that the power she gave her could actually transform her into a magical girl by pointing up to the sky and saying the phrase "Magical Maria, powerup!" It worked! And everyone was amazed by it.

Maria spent the next few days getting taught how to use her newfound powers, after everything was done, Maria returned to Angel Island and showed Sonic these powers too.

Maria would then live a peaceful life with her new purple friend, but this peace was soon shattered once someone dicided to steal the Master Emerald for infinite power. And Maria was shocked to see who it was...

It was... an older version of her...?

Maria knew what she had to do, and raced after this "impostor" to get the Master Emerald back, Sonic had some trouble due to his shoes becoming heavy from being far away from the emerald, but eventually his shoes malfunctioned and unlocked permanently, allowing him to run as fast as Maria and to finally be able to explore the land. Eventually, Maria defeated the "imposter" and brought the Master Emerald back.

Little did young Maria know that this "faker" really was the real deal from the future, and that her older self would harness a bit of the Master Emerald energy, allowing her to become a Dark Magical Girl and fight her younger self so that she can have the Master Emerald all for herself. And thus, the story would begin..."

And there you have it! Obviously I didn't touch on the other Magical Girls and the storyline with the plague created by D-Gerald (NIDS), the Chaos Emeralds, D-Shadow, and D-Ivo. But those ideas are still in this version of the AU.

One thing that I should tell you all is that some of the companions are changed here. Young D-Maria has Sonic, D-Helen now has Claws, D-Sara has Cream, and Older D-Maria has Shadow and Fang/Nack. (And yes, Older D-Maria's role is a fusion of Eggman and Eggette's roles in the OG AU.)

I also imagined that Young D-Maria looks like the regular D-Side Classic Maria design, but without the Eggman infuences. A mix of the normal and D-Side designs if you will. (But I'm unsure what Hope, Sara, Helen and Frances' D-Side designs will look like yet. I could ask Deacon, but I don't want to bother him.)

Humanity's Hope AU: The Magical Girls

So I haven't really expanded upon this AU in a while, so I figured I should.

This is, of course, a sequel to the last post, I highly recommend people to read it as it is a basic introduction to the AU.

This post meanwhile will introduce you to all seven magical girls that were chosen by Tikal to defeat Dr Ivo Robotnik. All of whom happen to be various human girls (Well, mostly human) from the Sonic franchise.

Without further ado, here they all are:

#1: Maria Robotnik

Our main protagonist in this AU. 50 years ago, she used to be a termally-ill girl living on the Space Colony ARK before Tikal chose her to become a magical girl, now she's cured, in a different time period, and is determined to protect humanity from her evil cousin.

The Knuckles Clan knows her better as "The Angel From The Stars" due to her depiction on an aincent murial on Angel Island. Funny enough, Maria's grandfather, Gerald Robotnik, never noticed the similarites on said murial when he visited the island for research purposes.

Her companion is, of course, Shadow The Hedgehog, his creation was assisted by Tikal in this universe, though his design is mostly the same as his canon counterpart. (This means that the Black Arms don't exist in this AU)

#2: Hope Kintobor

Maria's first cousin once removed who comes from a future where Eggman took over the world, after realizing the truth behind what had really happened to Earth, she became scared. Luckly, Tikal came and gave her a chance to set things right. Thus, she was sent back in time to stop Ivo.

She encountered Maria shortly after she was sent back in time, and is heavily featured in this AU's version of Sonic 2, where she teamed up with Maria when their new friend, Miles "Tails" Prower, was capured by Eggman.

Her companion is Amy Rose, who first encountered Maria in this AU's version of Sonic CD. Since Hope needed a companion, she decided to become one.

#3: Sara

The daughter of the President of the Land of the Sky, while this feisty catgirl may not seem like the ideal choice for a magical girl. Tikal knows that deep down, she's secretly a kind person. And she truly shows it to her fellow magical girls. Other than that, she's also quite powerful in her magical girl form.

Her companion is Knuckles The Edichna, Knuckles doesn't need to guard the Master Emerald since Eggman already stole it in this AU. Much like his OVA counterpart, he's a friendly individual, especially to Maria since he knows about the Angel Island murial.

#4 and #5: Helen and Frances

A parapalegic girl and an adventurous girl who are classmates at Station Square Elementary School. And apart of a friend group consisting of them, Chris Thorndyke, and Danny.

Maria, who enrolled into Station Square Elementary in order to avoid suspicion and to gain knowlege about Earth in the present day, ended up being befriended by the two girls.

At first, Maria had no idea that they were magical girls just like her. But when Eggman attacked the school, Helen and Frances revealed their magical girl selves. In fact, the reason why they befrended her was because they knew Maria was a magical girl. (Tikal told them that)

One notible thing about Helen's magical girl form is that she is able to stand and walk perfectly fine, though it reverts once she turns back to normal.

Their companions are the blue hedgehog and twin-tailed fox duo themselves, Sonic and Tails. It's worth mentioning that both of them idolize Maria and wish to be just as cool as she is.

#6: Princess Elise The Third

The current ruler of Soleanna. Tikal gave her a Blast Processor wand when she was 7. However, while testing out her powers with her father, The Duke of Soleanna, an accident had occured, killing her father and causing her immense greif. Because of this, she would become afraid of her own powers, and never use them again.

However, all of this would change when she was 17, Maria would visit Soleanna and encounter the princess. Maria knew that something was troubling her and wanted to help her. After Elise talked to Maria about her fear, Maria wanted to assure the princess that she doesn't need to be afraid and that she can use her powers for good.

It just so happens that Eggman was planning to attack Soleanna because Elise had a chaos emerald in her possession. Now it was time to prove Maria was right.

Elise's companion is Silver, who took the princess under his wing after the accident ten years ago. He also knows about Eggman's quest for world domination, since he came from the same future that Hope was from, they never met during that time though.

#7: Sage Robotnik

A humanoid AI girl, originally created by Dr Eggman in an attempt to create a "Maria" of his own, she suddenly ended up going beyond her programming, and began to wonder what her pourpose and identitiy even were.

While wandering outside, she would encounter the magical girl group, she knew that they were the enemies of her father, but was suprised at how friendly they were to her. Everyone would then become shocked when Tikal chose her as the seventh magical girl, and Eggman had no idea about this.

This caused her to become even more conflicted about whose side she should be on. But she would make her final decision once Eggman caused destruction in Station Square.

Seeing how horrible her father really was, she finally had the objective she was searching for: Defeat Eggman and protect the world.

In this AU, Eggman created Sage a lot earlier than in canon, around the time this AU's events of Sonic Adventure took place. (And yes, Eggman is the one who destroys Station Square instead of Chaos)

Her companions are Mighty and Ray, for the same reason as Amy. This also makes her the only magical girl with two companions.

Bonus Magical Girl: Eggette

A mysterious girl who somewhat resembles a female Ivo, she's a Dark Magical Girl who is Maria's rival, and later Sage's rival as well. It's unknown what her goals are or if she's connected to Eggman at all, but Tikal knows that she didn't give her a wand.

Eggette pretty much has a similar role to Sonic 3 Knuckles in this AU.

Her companion is Fang the Sniper/Nack The Weasel, but sometimes Fang/Nack battles the girls on his own too.

Possible Shadow counterpart to Maria?

Since this AU will also adapt Sonic Adventure 2. It made me wonder if Maria should have a Shadow counterpart of her own to replace Shadow's role in the original game. Also acting as a Dark Magical Girl like Eggette.

I don't think it's entirely nessicary, since Sage is the closest thing Maria has to a 'Shadow' counterpart. And Eggette can fill the Sonic/Shadow "boss battles" in the OG as well. But It could still be done if people are interested in that idea.

Humanity's Hope (A Sonic AU)

So I had this idea for a while now and I so decided to post it here because why not.

This AU is yet another "Maria Lives AU" set in an alternate timeline where Maria Robotnik is a magical girl, and is also the one who fights Eggman instead of Sonic. So similar events to the Sonic games play out here, but with Maria as the protagionist instead.

The world that this AU takes place in is a mishmash of classic and modern locations, as well as classic and modern characters. It's still mostly influenced by the classic Genesis/Master System/Game Gear-Era games though.

To better understand what happens in this AU, here's the overall plot summary:

Maria is living on the ARK like normal.

The spirit of Tikal appears before Maria and gives her a magical staff powered by an emerald shard called the "Blast Prossessor" that let's her transform into a magical girl.

Tikal tells Maria that she is one of seven magical girls chosen to defeat "a future threat" who wants to take over the world. Maria agrees to stop this threat.

Tikal then instructs Gerald to create a lifeform, this would become Shadow. Gerald believes that Shadow could be used to cure Maria of her illness.

Shadow trains Maria in using her new magical powers, his blood is also injected into Maria to cure her.

During the GUN raid, Tikal sends Maria to Earth (Specifically to South Island) 50 years into the future, she also gets Shadow back after talking with GUN and saying that he means no harm.

Maria wanders around South Island and notices animals being captured by robots, this is also where she and Eggman meet for the first time.

The adventure begins...
