The Princess of Wales attended the naming ceremony of HMS Glasgow, the UK’s newest Type 26 anti-submarine frigate. HRH is the ship's Sponsor.

For the occasion, Catherine wore the late Princess Diana's sapphire drop earrings.

The earrings are cabochon sapphire in diamond clusters with a single diamond suspending the lower cluster. The top sapphire is surrounded by eight diamonds, and the bottom cluster has nine. 

Their provenance is unknown but they were worn on many occasions by Diana.

A new diamond thistle brooch was also worn for the naming ceremony, which i imagine was commissioned for this event.
