Aunt Ruth, Greer Lankton, 1982
A story Greer would often tell me “just after dinner and pre pumpkin pie my 19 year old cousin announced to the table that he was a homosexual. The room fell silent as my Aunt Ruth excused herself and went upstairs to her bedroom. A few moments later we heard a loud thump Aunt Ruth had fallen to the floor after carving a crucifix in her chest!” This event had a tremendous impact on 13 year old Greer and the bleeding cross becomes an ICON of her work.

the comedy in hannibal is unparalleled:
The Lacrimosa (Latin for “weeping/tearful”), also a name that derives from Our Lady of Sorrows, a title given to The Virgin Mary, is part of the Dies Irae sequence in the Roman Catholic Requiem Mass.
