The mysterious luna moth is a symbol of rebirth and new beginnings. The beautiful moths are attracted to the light of the moon at night and that is why they are used to represent spiritual transformation and a striving toward truth.

The luna moth pendant is handcrafted using 925 sterling silver wire or 14k rose gold filled wire so no two necklaces are exactly alike. At the head of the body is one 4mm gemstone and 4 matching gemstones are wrapped on the wings.

Gemstone notes:

Rainbow moonstone - This glorious stone has a luminescence or milky quality that could be said to resemble moonlight. This particular moonstone is white with flashes of blue as is it moved in the light. Moonstone is the stone of new beginnings and is often associated with fertility. It is believed to promote balance, hope, and enhance confidence and creativity.

Pink Opal - A mix of opal and chalcedony, pink opal is a pale milky pink in color with cream or white veins running through it. Unlike other opals, pink opal does not have the same opalescent quality. Pink opal is prized as a stone of peace and tranquility. It is believed to help calm a fearful or anxious mind and it encourages one to see things with emotional clarity free from preconceived notions and inhibitions.

Garnet - Garnet is a brilliant blood-red stone that resembles pomegranate seeds. The name garnet actually is derived from the Latin word granatum, which means pomegranate seed. Just like pomegranates, garnets are associated with eternal love and passion. They are also often given as a gift before travel to ensure a speedy and safe return.

Snakes have long held many symbolic meanings thought out history and all over the world. Snakes can shed their skin giving them the quality of transformation and rebirth. Their strange and sometimes dangerous nature fascinates us and it is no surprise that they endure symbolically in our lives today.

For Spring 2023 I created a small collection of coordinating snake designs which include 1 new snake pendant necklace, a new style of stud earrings, and these dramatic hoops.

These large hoop earrings feature a snake coiling around in a circle with a gemstone at it's head and a patterned wire weaving technique along the body. For the moment the hoops are only available with turquoise howlite but if you are interested in another stone feel free to send me a message and I can work out a custom order for you. (Any stones used in the gemstone stud earrings will work in this style)

Each pair is handmade so there will be slight variation between each pair giving them an organic feel. They are about 1-inch tall by 7/8-inch wide and are a threader style hoop that has no clasps or backs to fight with. They simply slide in similar to fish hook style earrings and are held in place due to the naturally springy nature of the the metal coil. This coiled design allows the earrings to be put on with minimal effort but won't allow for them to fall out without being deliberately taken out.

Notes on Stones:

'Turquoise' Howlite:  Howlite is a beautiful snow white stone that features a soft brown veins.  White it is gorgeous all on its own it is often dyed and used as a stand in for turquoise.  Just like turquoise howlite is a calming stone and it is often used in meditation to focus the mind and promote serenity.

Want the look of a conch piercing but don't have one? Problem solved! This ear cuff give the look of a single hoop piercing and is meant to be worn low on the conch part of the ear as shown in the photo and are great to wear stacked!

There are 3 gemstones to choose from, amazonite, rainbow moonstone, or cat's eye quartz or 3 metal bead options, 14k rose or yellow gold filled, or 925 sterling silver.

*Note: this listing is for a 1 ear cuff not a pair.

The cuff measures 10mm in diameter with an opening of 6mm. The size can be adjusted if you know you need a specific sizing. The cuff is made from a hardened 18 gauge wire so it is meant to hold its shape but also be opened and closed slightly to put on and take off. It hugs the ear just enough to stay on comfortably without falling off.

These cuffs are made out of your choice of 14K rose or yellow gold filled or 925 sterling silver wire. These metals are hypoallergenic and are nickel free which means they will no react with your skin. Gold filled metals will not tarnish, however, sterling silver will when not worn for long periods of time. To keep silver from tarnishing store in an airtight bag when not being worn. (note: yellow gold filled is only available with the metal bead option, however any of the 3 gemstones can be custom ordered with yellow gold upon request)

Cats Eye: Cats eye is a type of quartz that has a type of parallel inclusion within the stone that causes the illusion of the vertical pupils of a cat's eye. These inclusions also reflect the light similar to the eye-shine of a cat. These particular stones are similar to smokey quartz in appearance but have a green-gold tint to them and they have a particular glitter that is enhanced by their faceted surface. Cats Eye is prized for its spiritual meaning. It is believed to ward against evil, bring prosperity, and enhance intuition.  

Amazonite: Pale sky blue opaque stones. Amazonite is believed to facilitate self-discovery and awareness.

These hoops are medium size, measuring 7/8-inch tall and 1-inch wide. The inside diameter of the hoop measures 3/8-inch, making it hug the bottom of the ear lobe. Inside the crescent at the bottom of the hoop are woven rays of glass seed beads to add texture and color. Rose gold comes with copper colored beads and silver comes with metallic black beads.

These little sparklies are my new ginkgo pendant necklaces. I had a lot of requests for leaf pendants this year. The ginkgo is a beautiful tree, and I love the golden hue they take on in the fall. We have a lot of them in the Philly area. Ginkgo is an ancient tre. It is actually one of the oldest tree species in the world, and they can live for over 1000 years. The ginkgo leaf is a symbol for hope and peace as well as strength and longevity.

I totally spaced today. Rough day, worrying about the weather this weekend with a market. I need to chill and let what us going to happen, happen.

While I was worrying, I managed to stock up for the market that may or may not happen. I have lots of gemstone bracelets ready, both, sold out favorites and new styles not available online yet.

The newest additions are Italian marble with snake charms (the snakes have little amber stones at their heads) and dolomite with all seeing eyes.

Marble is the stone of potential. Just as a sculptor sees a great work of art in a block of stone marble, it reminds us of our untapped potential and all its possibilities. Incidentally, the marble is paired with amber in the snake charm. Amber is often used to represent bravery and self-confidence, two traits that can be helpful when exploring new possibilities. Maybe it is good, I am wearing one right now.

Then there is the all-seeing eye with dolomite, also known as Ching Hai "jade." Dolomite is the stone of comfort and ease, not unlike true jade. Both are believed to bring balance in times of stress and nurture a sense of calm.

Moss agate is believed to be tranquility and bring the wearing closer to nature, while labradorite is the stone of transformation and change and is said to temper negativity.
