why i request the sims not add me to the game. please read.

a polight request from a dissabled simmer(and her dissabled students who sim).

it has recently come to my attention that once again teh topic of dissabled sims has come up. i would like for people to please consiter what that would mean for those of us who are dissabled. if people want to help me out, and have a twitter, i would appreciate it if those of the dissabled comunity(and allies of the dissabled comunity) would let the sims makers know that we do not want dissabilitys added to the game.and why that is.

they did a poll many years ago asking the dissabled comunity what we thought. most of us do not want them in the game. and i have talked to my students as well and they are also not happy about this possibilty. because what would happen is that people would upload dissabled sims to the gallery and go “look at this retard i made!”. it would be used as another way to bully us. the BEST case senario is that some CCers would start to fetishize the dissabilitys how they have come to do the skin conditions. and that isnt a good thing eather. but mostly what would happen is bullying. and the game that so many of us enjoy would become just another means for the abbled world to make us feel uncomfortible in our own skin. many dissabled simmers use the games as a means to escape from our dissabilitys for a while. i use the game with my students as well who are also a part of the dissabled comunity. in this case trying to make the game diverse will activly hurt the dissabled comunity. by taking away a means of escape, and creating another way for people to bully us.

it is primerily abbled people wanting dissabilitys added to the game. so this is my polight request, that the abbled players please consiter the negitive impact that adding dissabilitys to teh game wouldhave on acutal dissabled people. even if you yourself have the best intentions and would not be part of the problem. please consiter that other people would not be as kind.

i would appreciate it if others would please help amplify the voice of the dissabled comunity so that our thoughts on this topic are heard. and hopefuly respected.

post script:i realize that there are some members of the dissabled comunity who are for the addition. but most of us are not.
