They are the cabin to go when you feel confused about your sexual orientation or genre.

They can be a little over the top, but they will help a demigod when they need it, but sometimes that means a musical number about how shoes are the best thing on the world.

Will most of them are not very good with weapons, most of them feel the better when they use their body as a weapon, this doesn’t stop them from having brushes that can become knifes and lipgloss that also double as pepper spray, and more stuff like that, they might not like to fight, but that doesn’t mean they are not prepared for them.

If you want a fashion modified version of the CHB shirt, you go the the Aphrodite cabin.

They are so sweet to the little campers. they love to take them under their wing and make they know that they are never alone.

Make up tutorial to how to cover your hickeys.

Feeling bad about yourself because your face is full of acnes and it’s bothering your self-esteem? They will teach you how to cover them with makeup, what products to use to help you with your acne problem, but most important, they will teach that you’re beautiful no matter what.

The last time the camp saw an Aphrodite kid lost control, was when an Ares camper made a really inappropriate commente about someone and their sexuality, the Ares camper had to get stitches on their face.

Have you heard this theory? It's about Jack's heart starting to beat because of Eva. In the second book, there's a scene where he goes to get a dress for Tella, and the shop is described in detail. Interestingly, the same shop is described in Once Upon a Broken Heart! The theory suggests that when Jack visited the shop, Eva's father was still alive, and she was there helping him. I don't know if it's true, but I LOVE that idea. I'll look for the link and share it on Reddit.

Yes, I've heard of that theory before! I think it's cool that Jacks has always been in the vicinity of Evangeline, and he didn't even know it considering he's been the "prince" of Valenda for some time. He may have crossed Evangeline's path, and it could have affected him one way or another.

However, Stephanie did say that his heart started beating after he met/kissed Tella. And maybe even before Tella if we're being honest since he has had multiple "True Loves" or "First Foxes." 💔

Character Scent Profile: James Fleamont Potter: (Harry Potter Fandom): Fragrance and Fanfiction Series!

Welcome to more of me freaking out over fragrance and fanfiction… which by the way is what I’m calling these. So that being said…. Welcome to the Fragrance and Fanfiction series! Sirius Black was the first in this series!

How I’d describe James Fleamont Potter’s scent!

Hello, my loves! We’re back with another scent profile and this time it’s for my favorite Marauder! James!

It’s not secret that I’m hopelessly in love Sirius and that I’d literally sacrifice myself for Remus but James is actually my favorite lol.

So here we go for Jimbo!

Red Berries

This is something we see alot in scent- red berries. Which is often a culmination of different berry scents together.

Perhaps, it’s a combination of berries like strawberries, raspberries, blackberry and cherry.

It’s often sharp and abosolutely mouth watering. It’s an attention getter and quite sensual.

Which to be fair, I feel like is kind of accurate for a first glance at James.

Handsome, successful, talented, popular, wealthy.

At first glance, he is literally the cherry.

Berry notes are a burst to the senses which I honestly feel is how James interacted with people. Whether that was a burst of love or humor or temper. It was definitely a burst of something.

Currants

Sticking with fruit for a moment, I wanted to highlight currants for a second. Now, while I could easily be lumped in with the red berries… currants are so much more special. So please hear me out.

Again, yes it is a bright, berry fragrance. Slightly tart, a bit of sweet, bright and crisp.

A perfect link for the man with a silver tongue, a good heart, sharp mind and general zest for life.

However, currant is unique because it also has this impossibly addictive light woody note that is a tad bit animalistic. To put it simply, it’s sexy.

It doesn’t strike as something that would be poured out a harlequin romance but instead morning sex with the love of your life.

It’s sexy and stable lol.

Black rose

Now black rose is actually a culmination of scents in and of itself. It features notes of plum, black currant, apricot and mandarin orange which only further tie in with the lively and positively juicy scents aforementioned.

But also things such as violet leaf, jasmine, woody notes and tonka bean.

Comforting scents.

The kind of scents that when blended together smell like home. Like a warm hug. Life safety.

Try and tell me that’s not James Fleamont Potter.

Patchouli

Piggy backing off that a bit is patchouli with it’s strong, sweet, musky/earthy scent.

Patchouli also has this wonderfully comforting note that I can best describe as wet soil.

So for this Quidditch obsessed lad…. I feel it’s only accurate lol.

Bergamot

I chose this for James because it has a very sunny yet sweet aroma that is beautifully laced with tartness and acidity. Something that I feel cut through the heavyness of the woodsy and sensual berry scents add a burst of freshness.

I can easily imagine James’ soap as Lemon, mint and Bergamot.

Or alternatively, a culmination of his lemon soap, mint toothpaste and a splash of bergamot aftershave.

Tuberose Tuberose is easily one of the most covetable fragrances there is. It’s is sophisticated and exudes luxury. And while James may not buy into all the fuss of a silver spoon lifestyle… he was still some of the finer things in live. This is just a personal headcanon of mine but I feel like his mother, Euphemia wore a tuberose perfume gifted to her by her husban, Fleamont.

The scent is heady, elegant and feminine and because of Euphemia… the scent lingers on any handmade jumpers she’s given him.

Oak moss This relates a bit more to Prongs but still after James became an animagus, I feel like this became a part of his natural scent. Particularly strong after a full moon.

It is also one of my favorite scents in the world.

Oakmoss, man. Oakmoss.

So it’s got this very potent, earthy-mossy aroma that lends itself to a wet forest floor, leaves, tree bark and an almost leather like scent.

I feel like after a full moon when he changes back, this scent lingers on James like crazy.

Musk

This also ties in with Prongs just due to the nature of musk and it’s origins.

Now, I’ll spare you the admittedly kinda gross details of origins of musk and instead give you this.

Musk is quite a thick base note. It’s woody and earthy and initially the name of it derived from the odor that came off of a male musk deer. Now if you want to look into some more you can but there you go.

And there’s no way I’ll believe that that stag doesn’t have some musk scent to him, lol.

Vetiver Also known as The Fragrance of the Soil. This one. This I imagine is a scent that pops up on James after quidditch.

It’s a bit dry, earthy, woody but also smoky and leathery. It’s a bit like grass at times and very warm.

For me, this is James with the culmination of scents on him. The broom wax, the leather gloves, the grass stains clinging to his uniform, the cigarette smoke lingering on his scent from when he and Sirius had one before the Quidditch game beause ‘I don’t smoke, Sirius but if I don’t do something I’m gonna have a heart attack.’

It’s just very James.

So in summary, I think James’ scent is very bright, very sharp but also deep and warm and comforting.

Like a warm hug on Christmas morning.

So yeah, thanks for joining me as I totally geek out over scents. I’m 100% that bitch who has quite the perfume/cologne collection. I don’t want much in this life but damn it - I’ll have some smell good, lol.

Character Scent Profile: Remus John Lupin: (Harry Potter Fandom): Fragrance and Fanfiction Series!

How I’d describe Remus John Lupin’s scent:

Ah, Remus. My sweet little babyboy. How I love thee.

Now, I have an unfaltering love for Sirius and while James is actually my favorite Marauder…. I have a particular soft spot for this precious bean.

We’ll begin with the scent of warm cashmere.

For this I will reference a handmade oil that my friend makes of the same name. I absolutely live for it.

The best way I can describe it is warm, sandalwood and patchouli.

So, what is cashmere?

Well, cashmere is a fiber obtained from cashmere (or Kashmir) goals. It’s thin hairs that can be woven into supremely soft, luxurious items.

I would describe it as warm. Perhaps a tad herbal. A bit of musk.

Now I am particular fond of this as a scent note for Remus because cashmere is quite the process because it is rare and therefore quite expensive.

Now, we all known that Remus isn’t rolling in the dough due to the absolutely ludricous and disgusting opinions on werewolves.

However, I headcanon that while yes, he does have some thrifted items, he also has some items that he has had for the longest time and he’s just taken incredibly good care of them.

One in particular- a cashmere sweater gifted to him by Lily and James as a Christmas gift.

Quite pricey and positively lovely.

I imagine it’s something that he would treasure and something that warms him not only from the cool weather but also warms his heart.

Amber.

Now, this was a scent that I also chose for Sirius just due to the nature of amber and how it came to be.

But I feel it also fits really well with Remus as it is such a warm and comforting scent.

Sandalwood

So sandalwood is actually one of my favorites because it is actually an aromatic wood that retains it’s scent for decades.

It’s a heavy wood, yellow and finegrained and also one of the most expensive woods that there is.

Remus, as sweet as he can be, can sometimes be quite the heavy person. He’s strong, without a doubt, but he struggles with life (like everyone) but also with his condition.

So sandalwood is actually incredibly loved because it’s very durable and easy to work with as well as being very forgiving.

And if you tell me that that didn’t just describe Remus John then you’re lying. You’re a liar.

It’s also a tree that develops fragrant hardwood after about ten years which for me one hundred percent related to Remus just growing into a man and accepting who he is.

Interestingly enough, sandalwood is actually classified as a parasitic plant that gets it’s nutrients from other pants.

I feel that this ties even deeper with Remus as he is in constant battle with his condition.

Essentially he and his werewolf form are both sandalwood as one feeds off the other.

Normally, this would cause splinters but because it is such a durable wood it doesn’t just snap.

Additionally, sandalwood benefits include: increased alertness, anxiety management, wound healing and fighting bacteria.

Which to be honest sounds like wonderful things after a particularly rough full moon.

Patchouli

I would best describe patchouli as a strong, sweet scent with hints of musk and earth.

For me this is a perfect example of both Remus, the strong and sweet and his werewolf’s side wild nature with musky and earthy.

Spicy Peppercorn

Now, this might be a tad controversial but I stand by it. This note in particular is straight up his werewolf side. It’s a scent that when added to a fragrance is has notes that definitely get your attention. Heated, spicy and just a bit heavy.

Cassis

Honestly, one of my favorite scents. Bit light, dash of fruity scent combined with excellent notes that are sharp enough to sense a bit of animalist edge.

Musk Personally, if I had to pick one word to describe musk it would be animalistic.

It’s woodsy, earthy and absolutely intoxicating.

And it’s actually sweet when it has a chance to calm down.

It’s also an aphrodisiac which I fully headcanon for Remus.

Say what you want but it’s always the quiet ones who are the freaky ones.

Dewy Moss Ok, so moss. Specifically dewy moss. Green and fresh. Like freshly watered plants. How shall I put this? I like to think that in the days leading up to the full moon, Remus almost bleeds a mixture of dewy moss, peppercorn and musk from his pores as his werewolf side comes closer and closer. Moss is earthy, woodsy, bit like a damp forest floor and it also lingers. Perfumers actually use it give scent a longer life on your skin. He hates this but he will admit that it does smell nice.

Cool Citrus This one could be a tad bit sad but I feel like this is the scent of the salve Madame Pompfrey uses in the hospital wing. It’s nothing fancy. Just a cooling lemon and mint salve that easy his scars and jumpstarts the healing process. But since he’s in there a lot unfortunately… it lingers on him at times.

Book Pages There was no way in hell that I could do a Remus profile without mentioning the absolutely divine scent of a old book.

So let me spill some tea.

Ever found yourself just smelling the pages of an old book?

Don’t lie. I know you have. We all have. Why? Because it’s heaven.

Now, why is it that?

Well! It’s actually a reaction created by the organic ingredients in books reacting with light, heat and water over time. One ingredient is cellulose from wood pulp in particular and when these things combine and react they release a scent that is somewhat similiar to a very light vanilla.

And that is heaven and I just know Remus’ hand smell like that.

Ink

Jumping on that note. Ink. Now it really all depends on the ink in question and what was used to make it. Obviously if it’s an alcohol based ink then it’s going to have an alcohol scent. But for this we’re going to use a scent from my childhood. A good deal of my family in Serbia still write me handwritten letters. Yes, we have phones, we have email. All of that but they insist that it’s special. We still use technology but we also do this. And so my grandfather in particular uses the same ink that he has had for years and let me just tell you. It smells like incense and almonds. It’s faint but it’s there and I feel like Remus Lupin would be notorious for a ink smudge on his hand and I just…. uhhhh… help.

And finally touch of chocolate for our local chocoholic.

I had to. The warm, rich slightly sweet scent just encompasses Remus so well.

Character Scent Profile: Sirius Orion Black (Harry Potter Fandom)

Please join me while I geek out over fragrance because I am 100% that bitch.

How I’d describe Sirius Orion Black’s scent:

Sirius scent is interesting.

On the one hand, he reject all notion of his pureblood upbringing.

On the other, he was raised that way and with keen senses to the finer things in life.

I also subscribe to the notion that since Sirius’ animagus form is a dog…he’s a little extra sensitive to scents and can easily pick out what things are.

I can also see how after spending 12 years in Azkaban without a shower…. ya boy would likely be very into this.

Let us begin.

Firstly, amber.

What it’s derived from can vary but it is most commonly acquired from a plant resin labdanum.

It’s scent is warm, musky, rich, honey-like and a little earthy.

So to put that in perspective.

I’d say his natural scent is warm and rich. Just the slightest bit sweet and a clean, calming woodsy scent.

Next is some form of wood. I’m partial to Oud wood myself and I think it fits him beautifully.

So what is oud wood? Well it’s a resin soaked wood (or Agarwood).. also known as Oud.

Interestingly enough, when wood becomes infected with a particular type of mold, the tree actually has a reaction to it. It produces this amazing, deep, dark scented resin. It’s sometimes called Liquid Gold.

Now, I find this particularly poetic because I think Sirius himself is a bit like this.

He was ‘infected’ by his family since birth and in turn he has always 'reacted’ by becoming quite a rebel. He was literally disowned from his family and blasted off the family tree. However, Sirius is a shining star in the history of his family name. The brightest star after all. Liquid gold? Maybe not. But heart of gold? Most certainly.

The scent of oud wood is sweet, woody, aromatic and quite complex and I find that such a multi - dimensional scent goes perfectly with such a multi-faceted character.

Now we move to a classic. Vanilla. Now, while I honestly don’t think anyone would refer to Sirius Black as 'vanilla’ here me out.

I’m not talking that artificial vanilla scent that you can get by buying extract at the Dollar Tree.

No, no, no, my good darlings.

Vanilla is actually a spice. Spicy is a definitely a term I’d use to describe Sirius. Anyway, so vanilla is derived orchids of the genus Vanilla. Often harvested from pods of Mexican, flat leaved vanilla but not always.

However, for Sirius’ note of vanilla we look at Bourbon vanilla beans from Madagascar.

Again, a touch of that pureblood upbringing for finer things in life.

I think Sirius would hate everything to do with his family but ALSO he’s not stupid and he can definitely appreciate life’s luxuries.

Now, Bourbon vanilla in particular is rich, dark, creamy with an absolutely delectable sweet, butter aroma.

This note is warm. It’s thick. It’s sweet and dark and supremely comforting with a touch of spice, a dash of elegance and just a bit of exotic mystery.

I also like the bourbon aspect even if it’s just in my head because I just feel like Sirius could easily be nursing a glass of bourbon in the evenings while a bit of music plays on the record player in the background.

The next scent is another woodsy scent.

Mahogany woods.

Oh, this. This one.

So as established with the oud wood, I think woodsy scents fit Sirius so well.

Partially, because most of his life he was confined.

First in his family home, later in Azkaban and again, unfortunately, in that very same traumatic childhood home.

So I think the scent of wood, the scent of the forest…. the wild freedom of the woods just go so well with his character.

And also, he’s an eternal stud and woodsy scents are positively mouth watering.

So Mahogany Woods is one of my favorite scents to me honest.

First, we’ll touch on mahogany itself. It’s undeniable how classic it is and it’s only proven by how many times it’s chosen to make some of the finest furniture in the world.

This stuff is tough, not invincible but very hard to break.

A lot like Sirius himself.

It has excellent workability and very durable and it’s also very resistant to rot.

Which only further related to Sirius due to his upbringing and his absolute determination to be nothing like the 'rot’ that was his family’s belief system.

Even in Azkaban where he was wrongly imprisoned and tortured for years…he still didn’t break.

Yes, it likely did drive a bit on the outer limits of sanity but he didn’t lose it completely.

Sirius, like mahogany, is durable and very hearty.

A true hardwood who can still stand a few knicks and licks and still be able to stand the test of time without falling apart.

Scent wise it’s very full bodied, woodsy (of course) with a bit of spice.

Much like Sirius’ wild, full of life and mischievous nature at times.

Incense.

Now this one is a personal favorite of mine. I have a headcanons that Sirius, with his keen sense, would likely have two minds about incense.

If it’s a scent he doesn’t like then he’s out. Absolutely not.

But…

If it’s a scent he likes, then he will buy them in bulk and burn them continously.

For this reason, I could easily see a particular fragrance he might like lingering on his clothes a bit.

He strikes me as the type of person to always have some burning in his flat. I just picture a young twenty year old Sirius Black lighting up a stick, throwing a record on and watching the smoke spiral upwards as he relaxed after a long day.

Toffee

Another headcanon of mine is that he loves toffee. Perhaps, not huge on chocolate or lollies or other sweets but he loves toffee.

One hundred percent a guilty pleasure for him.

So what would that be? What is toffee?

Well, essentially toffee is a treat made by caramelizing sugar or molasses with butter.

Not dissimilar to caramel but, in my opinion, much richer and delicious.

Caramel (of the softer variety) is often made with sugar, cream and milk (or condense milk) whereas toffee is pretty much butter and sugar which gives the absolute divine flavor combination of sweet, buttery and just… warm.

For me, what takes the cake is the sugar. Because it would be brown sugar. That warm, sweet decadence and just the faintest hint of vanilla which would blend perfectly with some of the aforementioned scents.

Leather.

Of course, leather would pop up. I’m a firm believer in Sirius and his leather jacket.

Now the best way for the to describe this is actually for me to describe a cologne made for me by one of my dearest friends which is literally just called 'Leather’.

The notes of which are smoky, warm, rich, earthy and a bit of tobacco.

And just the tiniest bit sweet. Almost, like the slight sweetness of an old book. (Stay tuned for more on that when I post Remus’ scent profile, lol)

I feel leather suits Sirius so well in scent and it blends so seamlessly with the next one.

Smoke

I, like a lot of people, seem to eternally link Sirius with smoking. Now, I know people have different opinions on cigarettes but whatever. I smoked for a long time before I stopped (I vape now, like the tragedy I am) and a good deal of the men in my family did. So for me, the smell of tobacco an smoke is extremely comforting to me.

I feel the scent of smoke…of tobacco and just a little bit of fire would linger on Sirius just a bit.

Motorcycle

Now hear me out, I realize that category may seem a bit odd and the note here would be so, so, so faint but again- I feel it just works so well with Sirius.

So it’ll be controversial cause you either love this smell or hate it but just the smallest teensy hint of gasoline (or petrol).

And also, just a bit of oil.

These relate directly to that bike that he suped up. Because I headcanon that he got a muggle bike and turned it into a magical flying motorbike… I suspect that in his early twenties he would’ve worked on it continuously.

Therefore, the scent would linger just a bit.

Maybe just the tiniest bit of oil lingering on his hands while he was tucked away tinkering with the internal workings of that magnificent creation.
